Hey mate thanks for the video.
Your knowledge is very good and makes a lot of sense.
I have bought this and all the other ego commercial tools, got rid of my Honda commercial petrol engines.
I am enjoying this whipper snipper however I've run into some difficulty restringing it.
Could you please make a video on how to restring the head, just in case I'm doing something wrong.
    Thank you

I just picked up this Ego commercial trimmer STX 4500 for backyard use. Definitely the best ego trimmer released so far in my opinion. It is only 500g heaver than the domestic models. The best thing about the STX 4500 is it feels light as it has less mass at the front head due to the motor being at back and it therefore feels more balanced than the domestic ego models.
The domestic Ego line trimmers have the motor at the front head and you can feel this mass more over a longer period of time. (motor and powerload feature both located at the front head). I decided to get the commercial ego mower as I am not a fan of the Line IQ domestic model with its automatic line feed. The Ego Line IQ trimmer eats up more string and no one knows how reliable Line IQ will be over time. I also prefer being able to bump and release the line at my own discretion.
The three speed setting on the commercial trimmer all have variable speed control via the trigger so you have allot larger head speed range to work with when you have delicate objects to trim around. This is much better than the domestic models in terms of head speed range.
In my opinion this commercial ego trimmer also makes for an excellent domestic model . You can wind up approx 8m of line into the head. The string is so much easier to feed through than the domestic ego trimmer. The only thing I noticed was winding up 8m of line into the head does get a bit tiring as it requires good finger strength to do. (Females take note)

My Milwaukee is a bit the same. The difference is the torque... and how to use it. On my "highly invasive" kikuyu and cooch. The advantage is clear. You:
A- Wanted to your do you edges every week; or
2- You wanted to be able to blast 1 inch trenches between grass and edge that takes 5-8 weeks until it needs an easy haircut.

I can’t find anything on the website that tells you the overall length. Do you know if the commercial string trimmer length is longer than the standard models for more reach?

Yup, just ordered one again 😂
They've got a commercial redemption on, a free 7.5ah with every commercial Ego tool purchase 😉
Love the brush cutter, wanted the line trimmer again.
I'll also be looking at getting the carbon fibre multi tool powerhead too and trying that out

@@jeffmcdonald101 The powerhead is what Ego uses on the domestic line trimmers where you push a green button to wind up your string. It is a very handy feature but with the amount of use commercial trimmers go through daily it is likely something may go wrong with the powerhead not working properly over time. This can be annoying as you need to pull the head apart to remove any debris stuck in the powerhead or replace the powerhead.. There is no powerhead on this line trimmer. This head is like a echo speed feed head which is very popular head for commercial use.

Egos commercial line up has a throttle time out on the 22-23 year modles which cuts the throttle every 20 seconds,i Really hope they removed this as it made commercial use impossible as too anoying to depress saftey and re throttle over and over and over. . .
