8/8/24 - a few days after the end of the olympics 2024 at teahupo'o, and i just wanted to say hi to Carissa, and to say that you were amazing, and so thrilling and exciting to watch, especially in the quarterfinal heat, and i want to apologize if my cheering for you while at the gym watching your heat, disturbed you in any way in a cosmic vibrational level, or sent stressy vibes during that heat. i always feel a sense of participatory contribution to outcomes, when i am empathetically watching a sport event, especially with motivational intent in mind (i rarely watch sports with hopeful winners), and in your case, i feel like i was not relaxed and patient watching you, and i feel like my head was peeking in the that last barrel (at the last 10 seconds of the heat, wow, so intense and amazing, your degree of presence and patience and cool, calm, collected, experienced professional expertise was astounding) and yelling yes with total urgently (not relaxed at all, but on my toes with held breath standing in the gym corner) with tubular reverberations echoing in that chamber, only to see you get washing machine recycled at the very exit. you were so deep and that was so cool. im sorry that i was not yet familiar enough with the extent of absolute presence and control, which makes total sense as many world titles as you have achieved, but this for me was a new experience regarding you). in any case, i am so proud of you, and i hope you are proud of you too, and hawaii and your family and friends and colleagues have every reason to be proud of you. your place in the lexicon and legacy of professional competitive surfing, and surfing in general, whether it ends permanently now or not, is forever fixed, and i am and will always be inspired by you :) very best wishes :)
PS- i guess since there are 3 medals to win at the olympics, (one for you, caroline, and caity (vahine is going to have to sit down in her own house when, whoop whoop, team USA rolls up in this b*tch :) jk, its ok for me to wish you luck, even when competing against my lil baddy powerhouse goofy foot hero caroline marks ;) but seriously, you have been such a gracious olympic gold medal champion, and aloha representative / ambassador (Duke would be so proud and happy, i would think), and it has been heartwarming and inspiring to witness and experience, and i hope the 2024 olympics are thoroughly enjoyable and provide experiences (and epic waves) that leave lasting positive memories :) i am very proud of you and inspired by you :)
