    I'm in the USA and have a deposit in for an EX30 I have enjoyed your videos very much particularly when you are focused on the screen with Driving Assist ON. I like seeing what that's all about. I have a simple request... will you please show us how hard or easy it is to put the car in "N" Neutral. It is something we do over here to go through car washes... the cars have to be in "N". I'll add that I was confident that I would order a White EX30... It is weird but after seeing that gray press car in the snow I find its color very appealing!

      Can fix that in a upcoming video. Can try to sneak it in when I'm recording the one pedal drive video.

    Hi Kristian,
    You mention the range test, and the same as you did with your XC40. Did I miss a video of this? Just so you know, I like them.
    Love the content and like your insight of the XC30. I like the fact you are a Volvo driver, and know a lot about them. Also the small thing that bug you.
    Thanks in advance for the range test video

      Sorry for the confusion. Was supposed to upload the range video before this one, but took some time with editing. So the range test will drop in 3 hours. The XC40 Range test are uploaded 5-6 weeks ago. Just scroll slightly down on my video page 👍
      Thanks for your support

    Battery preheating when navigating to a fast charging station via Google Maps requires that the charge level must be at least 20% when reaching the charger, or at least that's what it says in the official pricing list (in Finland). Maybe they will adjust this in the future or add a possibility to manually start the preheat.

      @volvo_kristian  Před 6 měsíci +2

      Yeah, sadly that's what I also discovered

      20% of 65kWh is 13kWh, that's 100km on an older Ioniq or almost half the battery on the old Ioniq. Makes no sense to me to have such high limits.

      Ah yes, my bad, I noticed now that you put it in the video as well. At least the charging was quite fast still, even if the curve was quite weird. I guess that's probably due to the battery being slightly cold. If this was part of a long road trip I guess the next charge should start going a bit faster too, since the battery might still be a bit warmer from this charge.@@volvo_kristian

    When it's fully (within predefined limit) charged you can just remove cable.

    Excellent video, even with your battery oops. The sad thing about the EX30 is that it seems to reflect a safety culture clash between Volvo and Geeley. Who made the call to save cost by omitting a driver display. And who is responsible for the idiocy of sending out driver alertness 0.5 sec long nag messages when you're forced to keep looking off to your right by the car's design. The EX30 gets the one screen approach even more wrong than Tesla. BS that you're getting the famous Volvo safety, quite disappointing.

      Glad you liked it 🙌 Yeah there's definitely a crash here. Cost vs practicality/safety.. and Volvo vs Geely

      It’s strange that some people get the nag by normal use and some don’t. At least in our one hour drive I never noticed any nagging from the driver alert system. Have you tried the car too?

    • @volvo_kristian
      @volvo_kristian  Před 6 měsíci

      @chrisving91 Weird that you managed one hour without.. Your either pretty fast with your screen interactions, or you don't interact with the screen at all.

      @@volvo_kristian There may have been, but I was having a fun ride with the fantastic music I put on. Either way, driver IR didn’t seem too bad and IMHO it’s best having it than not with respect for my passengers 😊

      During my test drive (1,5 hours) I felt like the driver alert system only beeped after I was honestly spending too long looking at the screen. It was beeping when I was doing things that I should have done when the car was not moving. For example, it never beeped when I was looking at the speed, since the speedo is conveniently at eye level. It did beep if I spent too long going through the menu looking for something, but perhaps that is not something that should be done while driving anyway. @@volvo_kristian

  • @voyageurmike

    The EX30 is not being sold in the USA yet. I refer to any alert from a car as a nag. What I have seen in videos like this one is that distracting alerts flash onto the screen too quickly to be read. Apparently there is no setting to change how long the alert persists.

    • @volvo_kristian
      @volvo_kristian  Před 6 měsíci

      Yeah, and this is just nagging.. Results that I just turn in off, and what's the point then?

    • @n0b0d1r
      @n0b0d1r Před 6 měsíci +1

      Yes, that is much closer to the optimal temperature of an NMC battery. However, keeping the car outside when it's really hot might cause the car to need to cool the battery at times.
