- The quest to hit the lowly rank of 10,000th in the world continues in emphatic style. It's a long one, but this video is pretty much jammed packed with juicy games filled with insane guesses. Three different types of bug also punctuated the session, with the stand out one being a bizarre glitch that threw me into Alcatraz jail every time I moved.
I tried to make this one less choppy for you guys, but I simply couldn't leave out a single one of these games.

Somehow our brain is wired that way. I find it equally easy to detect my home country in geoguessr. However, how he knows where the bush is at within Britain is a mistery to me 😂
It‘s the vegetation, that’s why we recognize our homecountry so easily.

Taiwan doesn't is unavalaible for the country battle. And if you don't like earing the music in Duels, you can delete it in the settings while playing :) And if you have the clitch again, refresh your page. You won't loose. This was really fun to watch you :)

I think it was an automatic cheat detector punsihment or something
in their duels API they implemented sort of an anti-cheat that puts coordinates to the prison if any cheaters wanted to use it to get the location in duels, the bug happens because the actual game gets it by accident i guess

That jail bug had me in tears 🤣what a wild journey. But the most baffling part is how even after so many games, and getting beaten by that same technique from others, Tom still refuses to click into the middle of a country when he has no more detailed guess 😅

@@noctis6026 memorising flags and memorising meta stuff is literally the same thing. I think they both need skill and commitment. I do agree with the main commenter though, it is impressive from Tom that he is still able to make those good guesses that didn't include obvious information, which is a whole different type of play (not better or worse) than meta based guessing. I find Tom's style more engaging and fun, so I find it understandable that people are kind of villainising meta-guessers. I think it is better to respect people's opinions instead of sparring an argument.

At 37:47 you couldn't select Taiwan because it's not on the list of possible countries for battle royale countries / country streak (not sure why haven't added it tbh)
I've always assumed it's for political reasons because not everyone recognizes Taiwan as an independent country

Love the classic geoguessr content mixed in with the IRL stuff. Tom, and I mean this in the most loving way possible, you gotta get on your meta’s a bit to help keep up with some of these other guys!
I think 5000 would be a good goal although if you are busy maybe do smaller play through of only a couple matches and compile them together later. Great video as always

Haha, @ 10:25 it's 300m. from where I live =) Starting to love GeoGuessr, me and my GF play it everyday now. Learn so much playing this this.
You can use the spacebar to lock in your guess, might be helpful in country battle royals where you have to be quick.
Here's a small tip for south asia. If you got a line above the characters it's hindi or bangla. Bangla seems to have a lot more pointy charcters and hindi has more curvy strokes in the characters. That can help distinguish between the two. For hindi it's best to go north or central india and for bangla it can be in or around bangladesh.

I think you can definitely do top 5000, but it might be more fun to do small increments. Maybe just aim at top 9000 and then change the goal if you see fit?

I really have to tell you something.....especially after your talks depression. I am no expert but I would suggest that your adventures and exploits with your pleasant 2 bit music in the mix are soooo relaxing...I actually put them on to take a nap....this on the other hand is soooo tense that it takes some of the fun out of it ,,,,,especially the death bell

That Alcatraz thing can't be a glitch right? Has to be some sort of cheat or hack, it's too hilarious that you get put in prison for moving for it to be a glitch.

One of the best parts of geo is how easy it is to see your practice and studying payoff. In other games it can take so much time.
That was an incredible game with Tymon! Shame he didn't get the Belgium one, he must've unknowingly gone out into the middle of nowhere where there were no clues. Tough luck :P

When you determine the country correctly but aren't sure on the exact location, as in the Romania guess @ 31:03, why not at least go more central, it's a good way of hedging your bets. That's what your opponent did (he leaned even further with that strategy and shifted a little towards the main population center, i.e. Bucharest)

prison glitch happens sometimes because geoguessr's anticheat is basically replacing the location coordinates with alcatraz coordinates until the round ends. sometimes it glicthes out tho

It used to put you in alcatraz if you tried to move in competitive using the unity scrips for moving, since this movement is quicker and therefore an unfair advantage. Now, at least for me, nothing happens instead.
