I've always thought that Saiki was an "A" vocalist, but then I heard the Christmas Acoustic concert. She is one of the best. She holds back a lot, but let her unleash and you will pushed back in your chair.
She is an extraordinary vocalist, when you hear her on songs like puzzle it boggles the mind, Kanami and Miku really push her vocal abilities to the max. And yet it is the slower tempo songs that I love her singing the most like on Start Over, Page, Daydreaming, About Us, Anemone, Awkward etc, smooth, laid back and sometimes sultry. Prior to Band Maid I would have said Janis Joplin and Stevie Nicks were my favourite female rock vocalists but Saiki is up there with them for me. One of the things that elevates Band Maid and Saiki to such a high level in my estimation is the sheer variety of what they do, honestly I can only think of one band that had that ability combined with quality and that was The Beatles.
I concur. And another thing i also like about Saiki's voice is she has very minimal vibrato. YAY.😄

@@user-ss6yc1bg8g Hi HaT. I didn't know that. I think Saiki does put her heart & soul into every performance but she did once say that sometimes you remove yourself from the lyrics cos some of them are so sad :)

Who's the favorite member? I love all the Maids equally. And I love most of their songs equally. I'll listen to YOLO, for example, and it moves to number one. Then I'll listen to Puzzle, and it goes to number one, and so on for about 70 of their 118 songs. Each Maid has their own personality and contribution to the group:
Kanami is so adorable and quirky. She initially writes most of the material and is one of the best guitarist in hard rock. And she's a prolific riff master like no other.
Miku is pure kawaii and cleverly smart. She's a unique second guitarist & harmonizer to Saiki and writes the lyrics. She's the face and PR SpokesPigeon of Band-Maid, Po!
MISA is the barefoot assassin who kills every note, and is surprisingly the class clown of the group. She's one of the best bass players in the business adding drive and unique secondary bass leads to the music.
Akane is the fusion reactor behind the band and goofball. She's one of the best drummers in rock today with relentless drive, dynamics, and the kick.
And Saiki... she brings a classy focus to the band who more than stands up to the powerful engine that's roaring behind her. She's a front-woman like no other and the iconic vocalist of the best hard rock band in the world - Band-Maid!

For me it's Miku but Kanami is been friendly with me, concert 2019 in New-York, meet and greet, anyway I loved them equally.

Like you I don't know the right terms but the pre-chorus? / build up that leads into the chorus is so satisfying to my ears.
