- In this video we show you how and what happens when you drill holes into your exhaust baffle. Not every bike has the same exhaust so the holes may be in a different place or sound differently but this is the general idea. This bike is a Honda Shadow 750
Dudes got the “i got banana bread, hell yeah” energy
Sounds good but I thought the first set you drilled sounded better to me, but I am listening through a 1/4 inch phone speaker .
Regardless it does sound good without being so loud as to annoy the neighbors. Thanks guys
Just wanted a bit louder then the first set, in person the tone didn't change as much, just got louder.
I just drilled 5 1/2 inch holes in each pipe on my Honda 1300 VTX and the sound is awesome. Before this it was so quiet .
Bought my bike, went to do this mod. Found it had 9 holes in my baffles. Sounds great
haha yes i find it is very common, i too have come across bikes people have already drilled holes in the baffles, definitely worth it for cheap extra little bit of sound.
Poor ant :(
Just going aLong minding his business.............
I have the same bike. I subd to your channel.
The only people who will be impressed with this outcome are the people who don't realize your bike isn't supposed to sound like that .
a good thing to know
Thumbs down....not for drilling or sound but for " Dumb". You better Re Jet or your buddies bike will need a new motor. It Farts because it's way too lean now. I can smell those burning valves from here.
Lol i agree, we like to shit around, if we like something we will do it properly. Like re jetting it. But this wasnt to talk about gains of power from rejetting with the exhaust it was just for showing people the different sounds and how to do so.
I want to do this to my 04 Honda Shadow Aero. Should I punch out the caps AND drill or just drill the 1/2 inch holes? I'm seeing differing opinions on this.. I want more sound (for safety) but also don't want to kill my engine.
Anyone?
Get real exhaust and rejet the carb
Don't do this !
Anyone with a good ear for bikes will say it sounds like crap .
Want your bike to sound good ? Get some Vance and Hines or cobras , be prepared to change the jets .
We need a long term review!!! please please please. Any different in mpg? speed? acceleration? annoying sound? other issues? Thank you!
No the mpg was not noticeably different then usual. Speed and acceleration i wouldn't say were effected much since it was such a small change, would have to take more baffles and re-jet for more of a difference. No annoying sounds, unless you don't like some grumbles or pops, because those were present. No other issues found.
@@306garage The grumbles and pops mean it's running too lean. You Better re jet soon before you burn out your valves. Engine failure and or Damage is imminent....re jet now or pay ! Added bonus will be more power !
What size bit?
Thinking about doing this to my Kawasaki z400
Awesome! Hope it turns out great!
4:06 can i do this to my honda cbr 250?
now carb adjustments? or no?
Sounds louder but it will reduce the bike's torque. Depends on what's more important to you.....
Performance was not in mind haha
What do you mean by that? Changing the exhaust on a stock bike only increases torque
Drilling holes or removing the baffles allows more airflow, but the same amount of fuel is being released from the carb so it actually can end up being too much air and not enough gas, so it runs lean. Thats why if you remove the baffle, its good to rejet the carbs with bigger jets to allow for more fuel.. and yes this will end up giving a performance increase. But just modifying a stock exhaust like this wont... its only louder because its allowing more air through.. same thing if you remove your muffler on your car.. louder but def not faster. In most cases might actually be slightly slower lol@@eduardom3209
I do It in my shadow but anyone can Tell me is this bad for the engine or is not a problem
The fucking ant 🤣
yo have you guys rejetted the carb or has it been running okay i did see 1 person having a cry about burnt valves how is the bike running
We sold the bike a bit after this. It was running great when we sold it and the guy who bought it hasn't had any issues either. So it's been good without rejetting. But still not a bad idea to rejet it
Almost Silence Engine
Did you wind up re-jetting the carbs after that?
I'm eager to find out
No did not end up re-jetting, wasn't a big enough change in exhaust pressure in my opinion to bother getting a new jet, even though it could have most likely benefited.
Why don’t you just remove that whole piece.
Did this have any negative effect on the bike?
Nothing was really noticed. But whenever changes are made to the exhaust or air intake, tuning should be done to reflect the changes.
It did, u just cannot physically see the damage, as it is internal.

Pity about the swear words!
Lol
Sound worst to my ear.

Too many swear words. My children should not hear this.
