I’ve always had a problem with the idea that those who go to hell are somehow at the mercy of others (those who are less disciplined in the spiritual life). Oh, if only 10 more people would have said just one more rosary than those poor souls could have been saved. As a Catholic this doesn’t make sense to me.
EDIT: Although i have issues with this, I will still continue to pray the rosary and do novenas for sinners. Hopefully it’ll make sense when I’m finally dead upon realizing that both I prayed enough for others and others prayed enough for me. Only death will tell!!

Yes and no. Our prayers, notably when we pray the rosary, are heard and does contribute in leading souls to God, leading to their salvation. That doesn't mean that we are to make a game out of it, in the sense that we know how many souls exactly are saved through our specific number of rosaries prayed.
We are simply asked to pray one rosary each day (among other things but we are now talking about the rosary, specifically) and we are told, by our Lady, on several occassions, that it will help lead lost souls to God, through our Lady, leading them to their salvation. It should be left at that since you're going to err one way or another in trying to say that X prayers will save Y souls.

Your holiness impacts others, as you draw closer to Christ you can't help but draw others towrd him with you. Don't think of it as a points on a scoreboard or "an amount of rosaries" but rather as we refelct Christ more of his light penetrates the darkess and those in that darkness can turn toward him. Light elimates the darkness, not mirrors, it is his mercy not ours.

People who go to hell chose it. God calls them to Himself whether it’s through you, me, Ralph or some dude. However, God gives us the opportunity to be one of the ones actually involved in their salvation process, through either prayer or evangelization. But we don’t actually save people, it’s the Holy Spirit.

If you know someone is committing serious sin, should you not tell them to repent? Maybe they will repent and be saved if you admonish them? Maybe if they die without you warning them they will go to Hell? If you know someone needs admonishment you have a DUTY to do it and even risk your own salvation by failing to do it. Now if you agree that admonishment is efficacious to bring about conversion, then why not also prayer? We have a duty to pray for sinners as much as to admonish them. In fact the failure to do so can allow them to lose salvation and will affect us at judgement time if we knew we should be praying for them. In the Body of Christ we are all connected. If one member suffers the whole body suffers. If one member fails to do his part the whole body does less unless someone else takes on extra to make up for the ones doing less than they should.

Today, so many souls are going to hell because of so much abuse or neglect in their early childhood in their own homes. Abuse of every kind is unbelievably rampant, and in all social classes. And with daycares and electronics being the norm, a large majority of parents let these raise their children and shirk their awesome responsibilities as a parent to love and nurture their children. Or as Mother Angelica said » we are putting children on computers and screens at 4 and 5 years old. What is in front of you becomes your god ». Very few mothers and fathers are concerned or are aware about helping their children get to Heaven.

Tbh. In 2014 I was living so reckless robbing people bare face in the same spot in thier cars for drugs one block from my house, laying in wait to take people lives for hours , getting high on many drugs, lying cheating stilling…. I was sin but I thought I was a good person. I had a outer body experience were I felt myself get shot in the back of the head, I could smell blood and concrete, I could hear the rumors of the onlookers whisper their opinions on what had happened to me, my family outside in shock broken hearted, in that moment I felt myself twitching and I was enlightened to the fact that the twitching comes from us as humans being so stubborn that my body was trying to hold on to this realm in some type of way your body doesn’t understand when the soul is leaving. Everything got quite and then I heard the voice of the guy who had did this to me say” I had to get him before he got me”. first I was in denial and the. I went somewhere so dark I cannot explain it. I didn’t see anything that I can put in a human category in any type of way. But as human we try to categories for our own safety. All I can compare what happens next is the hands of GOD held out his hands with all the dark demons I had came in agreement with and I knew I would be ripped to shreds if the got me. I scream at got I didn’t want it, I tried to manipulate him, I try to threaten him, I tried to flirt with him, I tried to finesse him, he just kept saying “ no but this is what you wanted”. Not until I completely surrendered and was in a spiritual prostration position and completely humbled myself and ask him for forgiveness and protection did he take those things away. That’s when I felt the most peaceful overwhelming love I have ever experienced. He show me basically how if I aligned with him we’re he would take me is way beyond any level of accomplishment I could ever imagine and I felt so honored that he would even choose me. I felt so foolish for being afraid to die, or of war nuclear weapons or anything, when we all have to die anyway 😂and GOD has the last say on we’re your soul gos. I was enlightened to a lot of things. I felt so honored that he payed me any mind and as if I was a family member of the highest king and humbly untouchable🙏🏽💪🏽. I woke up in a hospital bed with a catheter in my penis and I thought it was from being shot In the head but the nurse told me I was only dehydrated 🤔. I went home and sat in my dark room for hours thinking. Right there I knew there were unlimited realms and so many things going on that we cannot see. GOD wasn’t like us in any way the only way I can compare him to is like when you see a picture of space and you see those big colorful powerful cloud looking things and have infinite galaxies inside of them that’s what I would say. I think we are looking at the whole concept of God way to small and putting him in a box. FIND PEACE WITHIN AND SPREAD LOVE IS THE MESSAGE. People who are faking like they are happy and are GOOD people and Nate wicked, jealous, hateful, and judgmental will be in for a rude awakening is all I know.

To all those struggling with the “People go to hell because we don’t pray for them”.
It doesn’t mean that the primary reason people go to hell is our lack of prayer for them.
It means that had we pray for them, they could have avoided hell, even though they fully deserved it.
Allow me to explain with a metaphor.
Imagine that each human being is born with a small fire.
You can grow that fire indefinitely.
But if that fire goes extinct and you die, you go to hell.
That fire is your conscience, your will, or your spirituality.
Each time you do something bad, it diminishes, each time you do something good, it increases.
If John is consistently sinning, his flame eventually goes out, and he deserves to go to hell.
But if Lucia has a big fire (ie: a strong spiritual life), she can ask God to use her fire to revive John’s flame.
By doing that, John would be saved. But if Lucia wouldn’t do that, John would be damned.
John would still deserve damnation because it’s his own fault if his flame ran out.
But at the same time, the statement that “John went to hell because Lucia didn’t offer her flame (by prayer)” remains true.
The only question is: Why would God not revive the flame of John even without Lucia’s intervention? God is a balance between mercy and justice. This balance is mysterious and we don’t know what makes God more merciful here, and more righteous there. Still, sometimes, God will decide to revive someone’s flame by pure mercy (ie: that person didn’t “deserve” it). Sometimes, He exercises his justice and doesn’t do it.
If people chose to lead a life of sin and their flame went out, they deserve to go to hell.
They never deserve to have their flame revived, but sometimes God revives it anyway.
Notice that when one communicates fire to someone else, it doesn’t decrease his own fire.
Also, notice that when someone runs out of fire (ie: isn’t in the state of grace anymore) one cannot re-start the fire (reconnect himself to God) by himself, which is exactly what catholic theology teaches.
    Hope that was helpful.

I just wonder why life has to be so difficult. The more I hear about trying to get into heaven, the less I see me getting there. There are more and more obstacles everywhere that have me stumbling over. One step forward , twenty steps backwards. I don't think anyone is in heaven at this rate. It's just too difficult to get there ( and I try my best to do good things, to be sympathetic to people who are in trouble, to try and keep the peace when my family are arguing. Nothing seems good enough. )

    • @AprilGracecatholic
      @AprilGracecatholic Před 2 lety +9

Don't be afraid! You have touched on an incredible truth. The thing about salvation is not that we can "earn or win our way into heaven," but Christ's sacrifice on the cross made it possible in the first place to enter into heaven.
I find it is not so much about trying to "get in" to heaven as it is preparing my soul to fully embrace God with my earthly life. One day when we die, God will ask us "how we loved and who we loved." So I live my life with that in mind, avoiding things that are poisonous to my soul, and relying on God's mercy in Confession to fortify and forgive me when I go astray. God's grace comes through when I ask for His help, especially when things are difficult. Lean on Him to support you in the things you struggle with because with Him, anything is possible.

Exactly. Teaching children in Catholic schools, how to love God with their minds and strength is probably the most ignored commandment. Most people don’t know what that means other than don’t worship another religion’s god. It means using the mind and pleasure zone in the brain that we get from entertainment, and use it as St Paul says, thinking if beautiful things, honorable, heavenly things, everyday taking time to think of Jesus’ Passion and His Love in a personal way. Telling kids how to be in the Présence of God. A lot depends on their ability to have healthy relationships, depending on what type of environment their home life is.

Trying to be charitable here, just to make sure I’m getting this straight. Quoting from Catholic sources and from this video, a being appeared to some kids that appeared as “a Lady all in white, more brilliant than the sun” standing above a bush. And Ralph Martin says the being told the kids, “so many souls are going to hell because so few people are praying and offering sacrifices for them.” Just skimming through the comments here I see people are expressing that this isn’t sitting right with them.

Our catholic faith is often marred by all these visions and apparitions, some genuine some not. But Gospels is all we need to know Our Lord . In a University there many classes, there are class 101 by Peter, Paul, saints and visionaries and there are others, Moses...Jeremiah but in One Class XC is Our Lord, which one will your prefer? Oh!! to be in touch with our Lord, reading a passage or two daily, hearing his words in Gospels is so wonderous and you live Life fully, like Pope Benedict " there is nothing more beautiful in life than to be surprised by the Gospels.
Yes, our Lord talked about hell but also on this Good Friday as we commemorate His death, He paid for our sins, let no one undermine His death , He paid a ransom for us ordinary folks. For those who are step away from Hell unless they repent look no further, all those who are condemned by earthly Judges. Rapists, murderers , serial killers, thieves and those in high places who are engaged in genocide Hitler and recently in Ukraine, Russian President Vlad Putin and his Generals

This may come as a surprise, but Mary, mother of Jesus, was not in Fatima or any other earthly place. Scripture says very little about her after the crucifixtion. So it is safe to assume she died a normal, human death, possibly old age. She was not devine, or a perpetual virgin, nor many of the other fables the Catholic church wants us to believe. She found favor with God. End of story. Mary was human and in need of a savior just like everybody else. Throw your Catholic bibles away and read the regular KJV. The truth is out there. IF I could find it so can you.

My interpretation of Bishop Barron's statement that Christianity is the best way to heaven and that there are other ways is the same as Jesus' statements on the cross, 'this day you will be with Me in Paradise' where Jesus did not use the words 'repent to the dying thief', also Jesus' statement that 'those not against me are for me' which means that Jesus can as he transubstantiated bread and wine to his Person can use every single thought and matter to draw everything to Himself. Bishop Barron's optimistic statement is to me a form of humility to recognize that God is All Powerful. When opinions of Ralph and Mr Fradd are representative of the ARROGANCE OF SATAN. FOR SATAN REBELLED AGAINST GOD BECAUSE GOD EXERTED UTMOST EFFORT TO SAVE ALL MANKIND. Bishop Barron has the background to make interpretation of Vatican. Ralph Martin's way of speaking and Matt Fradd's way of speaking turn off the most interesting people that God would like to convert. I would rather think God can succeed in the worst sinner rather than have in me an anger that hinders the salvation of the least. This attitude of Ralph Martin and Matt Frad are the very image of a millstone tied around their necks. I am sure Bishop would be more pleasing to God who has faith on salvation of the least, rather than Ralph and Matt repeatedly stating doctrine and their understanding of it. SHAME ON YOU TWO AND THE LIKES OF YOU TOO IF YOU ARE WRONG FOR YOU HINDER THE ENTRY INTO HEAVEN BY THOSE WHO ARE LEAST. HOW CAN YOU THINK THAT YOU ARE MORE WORTHY TO CAUSE CONVERSION OF THESE LEAST MORE THAN BARRON WHO HAS STAKED THEIR SEX LIFE AND THEIR MINDS TO GOD. SATAN WAS A HERETIC BECAUSE HE WILL NOT SERVE GOD WHO WILL GO AFTER THE LEAST.

Why are ALL the visionaries that receive visions of hell never in agreement. No two have the same story. Why is that? I am serious, I would like a response. None of the stories agree. (Its also for visions of heaven. The church never supported any of those stories but no two of them are the same either. I think these people are just having a dream and believe they visited there)

In what way? Most of the Saints have described it very similarly. If you take a bunch of people and have them watch a horror show, they will describe it very closely but each differently on how that individual experienced seeing it. Some Saints such as St Bosco were given more visions and detail of Heaven and hell. So that’s why you may see some differences.

In all probability, Mary is in Abraham's Bosom, not in heaven. If those in Fatima saw an apparition, it came from dark forces. The Bible never mentions Mary's death, never alludes to her having special powers.
What is does say is the only mediator and redeemer is Jesus Christ. Praying to Mary goes against scripture, as does praying to or for the dead. If it isn't in the bible, it's irrelevant.
