Everyone understands the lock downs in the first couple weeks…lockdowns for years is what people are questioning
If Covid was still dominated by the Delta variant, there would probably still be many lockdowns. It was a very, very serious malady and was overwhelming our medical system. We as a human race got lucky that as the variants got even more infectious, they also got less serious. If we didn't have these rapidly created and successful vaccines and treatments, there still may be lockdowns. It could have been just the opposite - we could have a virus that kills an even higher percent than delta, or makes people sicker even if they don't die, or maims them for the rest of their lives. It still could go that way. The health orgs were trying to take the safest and most effective approach they could implement which was lockdowns. They had to make adjustment after adjustment as the facts and data came in. That, unfortunately, made it look like they didn't know what they were doing.
Do you think “everyone” is equipped to understand it? Our hospitals were crushed and people were dying.

New York was the Epicenter of the virus. Hospitals in New York was at its max. When you have to place beds in the hallway to create Covid working space that should tell you how horrible it was. Lockdown made sense not just for two weeks but until we can turn the curve and release the strain on our health system.

So glad you are back Chris! I've really missed your nightly program.. I pretty much only watched the other network for your show. Which I don't watch anymore now.. I stopped when they took your show off thevm air. It just wasn't the same. Sadly Direct TV doesn't have News Nation unless I upgrade to one of their very expensive plans which I can't. They won't let me add just News Nation Either. Same with the other options. I'd watch News Nation every day if it were included in my plan. CNN is in all their basic plans. News outlets reported your show didn't pull in that may views. Its not for lack of people who want too. Its because News Nation isn't available for most. I can tell you why because I was in one. The health care workers went out to places they shouldn't go without masks then came into the homes with masks down and not washing there hands like they should. I begged my family to get me out before it killed me then within 10 days after I got out 10 people died. My uncle was in a home last December and I don't know how many died when it came in force again watched the same stuff different homes. These people need to be pd more and it might make a difference not that they don't care it is just different

How does the vaccination status of another person impact my child's safety at school? What does the science say? Also, where did this concept of getting good ventilation in schools come about? When was that ever discussed during the pandemic? Schools around me never changed anything with their ventilation. That was never a talking point. Where did that come from?

I think the lockdown was the worst possible reaction. We should have all put on masks, used the hand sanitizer, and kept on going. We are still dealing with the breakdown in supplies and services, and the resulting inefficiency that results.
How many family members did you lose to Covid? It hurts a lot more than the shutdown did. Just not to everyone.

They were the last resort , a lot of people didn’t wear masks and sanitise and the hospitals were filling up .
All I can say is Im glad you are not in charge of public health. Your aren’t even taking into account that N95 mask where in such short supply when the lockdowns happened that we didn’t even have enough for the hospital workers let along the general public. Hospitals where so full of covid patients people where dying of survivable issues. Money is not more important than the million lives we have lost or the million more we would have lost had you been in charge of public health.

China yes. If you consider the cost of the million who died hospitalized as well as the more than that who lived but ran up 6 and 7 digit hospital bills...
I mean, if each only had a few days and a 100,000 hospital bill, then that times 2,000,000 is 100,000,0000,000. We won't pay all that, a lot of it will be written off, but that's a 100 TRILLION dollar impact. It includes the people who followed all health regulations, but any non-trivial part of 100 Trillion dollar tax burden is too much. Maybe 30-40T?
