That’s a great fuzz face. Thing about fuzz is you get more out of it using your volume and tone controls. I like being able to go from a very chimey clean to a blown up amp sound and everything in between with just a volume knob.
The Old Studio through me off at first but Boss is not to shabby and has good FUZZ but really like to hear on Single Coils too, Happy New Year BROTHER and all the Best 🤘🎸🤠

Nice review…im not a big fan of fuzz pedal ,i prefer od’s to get driven tones over the muddiness of fuzz…that being said i like how it works like a od a lil bit,in that the volume on the guitar controls amount of effect well. Now if only my left handed playing ass were 1/2 as good as you 😬
This got me to not buy one of these. While the thought of a buffered fuzz face type fuzz that I could put in different signal chain positions sounds intriguing, I hate the other 2 sounds. If there was a muff type in there with the fuzz face I'd be sold immediately

Playing an octave fuzz sounds best between the12th and 17th frets. Something magical happens, it’s amazing!😎😎😎🎸🎸🎸

This pedal has it in the bag at low and high notes, and boss is not crazy expensive either.

I think this pedal is great, usually ovwrlooked, but great specially for folks to get used to different kind of fuzzes.

They're good if you want a nasty Stooges or Velvet Underground grungy fuzz tone, though.

Get a used FZ-3 or the Waza Craft FZ-1W… both much better than this one. The FZ-5 uses COSM (digital) so it sounds artificial

As I well call this pedal in Russian "fuzyas'ka" -) Although I have almost never used this effect on a pedalboard. Mostly distortion and overdrive. )

Quite a mixed bag of tones. Not sure I’m much a Fuzz fan.
I own a bunch of Boss pedals and this one is the one I just don't like at all.
Yep, the FZ-5 is the worst fuzz pedal Boss have made. Literally every other fuzz they have done is infinitely better
@@davidknipe3536 I disagree... The fuzz face setting is absolutely fantastic... The other two settings sound great on bass, not so good on guitar.
@@mikethebloodthirsty it’s a digital modeller, not a true fuzz so it doesn’t react the same way as an analogue fuzz..
