    I think that at the moment when Anakin came to Yoda to speak about his nightmares was the point where it was possible to stop Anakin's falldown. But Yoda did... nothing. Anakin needed of help, understanding and counsil what to do, of some explanations, not of the simple repeating the Jedi Code. As far as I remember Yoda blamed himself for it, not for his decision of training Anakin.

    Tbh the Jedi, Yoda included, were absolutely clueless about how to deal with anything remotely related to mental health lol. Anakin came to him asking for help because of his fear of loss and he just got told "it doesn't matter death is natural" hahahaha worst answer possible

    The temple at Coruscant which became Palpatine's place, was built atop a Sith temple. It's how Palpatine masked his stealth and overtook the Jedi. 1. Had Yoda resigned as Grandmaster of the order and lived off world, in the capacity as 'Emeritus', and or 2. if other sensitive Jedi off-world were keeping watch, they'd have sensed the bubble around the temple at Coruscant.
    They all assumed the temple at Coruscant was safe. It was a neatly placed trap that Palpatine sprung on them. That's the core of why Yoda couldn't sense the changes in Anakin; why they were blinded.

    Yoda did fail him big time,just like everybody else.The Jedi as a whole failed him,but there are many causes he fell.His Mother dying in his very arms,the vision about Padme,Palpi deceiving him all the time,him being the chosen one so all atudents were envy of him..
    I'd say the jedi is about 50% of the cake,Yoda is about 20.Obi has failed him just as Yoda mind you,if not more.
    I think where yoda has failed him the most was the moment when Anakin tried to cry to him about his problems but Yoda didnt listen at all.Even the fact that Anakin has turned to Yoda in the 1st place with his problems shows just how desperate Ani was.Yet,he was deaf.

    Yoda also suffered with attachments. Attachments to the Republic, attachments to the power being part of politics gave him, attachments to the ways of the Force. Attachments that Jedi were powerful and should use the power to show they were the most powerful in the galaxy, attachments to being called the wisest in the galaxy. Attachments to the Jedi way, attachments that the Jedi were never wrong. Attachments to the Jedi Code and just assuming that it was impossible for a Jedi to fall in love. Attachments to peace, which is why the Jedi Council did not say Qui-gon was killed by a Sith, and why they did nothing for ten years even after Yoda and Mace Windu agreed Maul was a Sith! Their attachment to peace meant they wasted 10 years where thry could habe looked for the Sith because they did not want to break the peace!
    Ow yes! Yoda was totally to plame for Anakin's fall to the Dark Side! It all comes down to attachments! To fear,
    Yoda's fear of loss!

  • @Hal-uq5qv
    @Hal-uq5qv Před 3 měsíci +1

    If there is someone to blame, it was Obi Wan. When the Council officially denied him into the Order, it was Obi Wan who told Yoda that he would train him regardless of the Jedi's blessing. After which Yoda sensed Obi Wan's defiance like.his former master. He knew bickering with Kenobi wouldn't lead anywhere or else.Kenobi, too, might fall from the Order. Imo it was a Catch-22 at that point during the end of TPM.
    They all knew Ani was force sensitive. And after Jinn and Kenobi just encountered a.Sith, they all knew their old.nemesis was.back somehow. If they let Anakin go from the Order, the Sith would sense.and.seek him and.train him as their own knowing he was.destined to bring balance according to the prophecy. Or they take.him into the ranks and train him. THAT responsibility lied squarely on Obi Wan. What made the Jedi complacent was not consulting with Obi Wan about how Ani was coming along. And then allowing him to accompany a politician alone at such a young age knowing he was very emotionally unstable.
    Kenobi's redemption for his failure was choosing to look out for Luke in a faraway planet with little to no political influence and where survival was earned through skill, helping on the farm, working hard, and having a purpose (wanting to join an Imperial Academy) because it made Luke grounded, eager to learn, bold yet optimistic.
    Yoda's redemption was taking on Luke.as.his.student (kin of the Chosen One being trained to try and turn Vader back to the light) even though he sensed Ani's temperament in him. But what choice did he have? Obi Wan was no longer around. What Jedi remained scattered through the galaxy likely didnt know his whereabouts or no longer served the Force for fear of being hunted down, and Yoda.was approaching the.end of his.life. Sure the option to take.in Leia was there. But she was a politician who already had her heart set on having revenge on Vader/Empire. Someone.mentioned her hatred of Vader because of Alderaan would've made Yoda sense her anger thus wouldn't make.sense for Yoda to take her in knowing she would easily.fall. In legends, before Disney took over, Leia.never forgave her father even after he died until she went to his slave.home.and.found a.holocron of his boyhood. Luke.may have been impatient, but we all know his character wouldn't make foolish decisions.
    By the time Yoda meets Luke, Luke understood the danger the Empire.posed after witnessing the debris of Alderaan scattered in space and what they did to his aunt and uncle, the only family he knew at the time. At this point in time, the Galactic Civil.War was clear cut whereas the Clone War was clouded in who was who. So Luke's role within the Rebellion was already set in place and wasn't a pity accepfance (he had planed on becoming an Imperial student but changed after seeking to rescue Leia) something which differentiated him and his father. So Luke becoming a part of the Rebellion on Yavin wasn't a stretch storywise.

    the jedi order was completely blinded because of the persistance that Anakin was 'the chosen one'. because of this the order refused to see any of the flaws shown in Anakin while being tought the way of the jedi until the obvious became clear as day. unfortunatly Anakin was not clear as day but rather dark as night. so it is not Joda's fault but more their premonition of Anakin being this 'chosen one'.

    Yoda was at fault to a certain degree but it wasn't all on him and it wasn't all his fault. Palpatine used a lot of things to blind the Jedi but also the Jedi trusting the Senate and becoming too political And too lazy is what made them fall .... But when it comes to Anakin him losing his mother plus killing the tuscans plus palpatine's manipulations in his ear constantly Aunt. In the end, seeing padme die in a vision, the same kind of vision he had of his mother dying. That was the last straw that he needed to turn to the dark side. Anakin had too much of an attachment to people he needed to learn to let go and he never could until the very end

    It pains me to say this. Yoda was not being compassionate. Or emphatic. Someone who trusted Yoda's wisdom approached him and asked what should he do if he was afraid to lose someone to death. Yoda DID give the right response (in my opinion), but his advice was cold. Unsympathetic and a cliche. It's sad. Maybe if Anakin put all the cards on the table and told the absolute truth. But that doesn't matter to me. Yoda response was not acceptable to a friend.

      Leia wouldn't have left for her friends because she puts duty above all (like Padme, and unlike Anakin). Leia also wouldn't have formed an attachment with Vader because she's brainwashed into believing that there's only good and evil, and well, because she had a good father figure unlike Luke.
      She would have been the "perfect" Jedi, dedicated to her cause and ready to sacrifice anything, having no attachments above it. Somewhat like Obi-Wan.

    I've always disagreed with the idea that Anakin turning was someone else's fault. He was a grown ass man and made his own decisions.

    • @idiocrat3744
      @idiocrat3744 Před 3 měsíci +12

      The Jedi Order is to blame for raising him to be like that. They picked a boy who was taken from his mother and almost immediately gave him a special title and higher standards, plunging him into severe stress (and massively increasing his ego with the Chosen One title). They knew that he wasn't cut out to be a monk, and still forbade him any attachments. Not to mention the constant distrust of Anakin from the Jedi Council.
      Nobody says that he's absolved from any crimes, but the other people are at fault as well. Anakin Skywalker, just like Palpatine and the Banite Sith, are a product of the failure of the Old Republic and the Jedi to adapt to the times, and solve their problems, something that they paid greatly for, and were forced to change (becoming the new school Jedi, e.g. Cal Kestis, Ezra Bridger, Luke Skywalker etc.) under the threat of extinction during the Empire era.

      @@glasses685 He wanted to leave the order at the age of 12 but the Jedi managed to convince him not to. Besides I doubt that Palpatine would've stopped his machinations against Anakin. Simply put, leaving the Jedi Order wouldn't have changed anything for the better, probably made things worse as he wouldn't have had the faint hope of finding how to save his wife in the hidden section of archives.
      You forget that he was forced to assault the Jedi Temple, after he cut Mace's hand off he didn't have a choice but to follow Sidious in hopes of him sharing the lost techniques of Darth Plagueis.
      Saying that Anakin had actual choice in the matter is like blaming a person for going down the path of crime to get money to save his family member from dying. That is true that he bears responsibility for the crimes he's committed, but no, he is NOT the only one to blame.
