    I wish these pencils had been available back when I was in college (a really, really long time ago). I almost always use fountain pens these days, but I still appreciate a nice, well-made, comfortable mechanical pencil.

    The Kokuyo FitCurve is probably the most balanced mechanical pencil I've used up to this day. I can grip the pencil at any length-from the top of the grip to the bottom of the grip-and it's still very comfortable. I bought it on a whim, and it exceeded my expectations.

    A quick question Is the knurled grip of the alvin draft matic mechanical pencil really hard and adherent as they say? I looked for a pencil that resists my sweaty hands, I tried rotring 600, pentel grapgear 500, and his knurled grip didn't convince me. Could the alvin draft matic be the one?

    Didn't mention my favourite pencil: the pentel twist erase. I can write an ode to its many virtues.
    Its most distinctive feature is of course the generously proportioned refillable eraser - about an inch long and half a centimeter in diameter, that retracts into a twistable mechanism at the end of the pencil. Understated is the button to let out lead that is located at the side of the pencil, near where you would normally grip it, thereby reducing the disruption to writing. The pencil is well balanced, and rests comfortably in your hand as you write.
    I got my first twist erase eight years ago - I only replaced it after the plastic casing of the pencil broke due to an accident. I am passionate about this pencil

    Orenz is a find among artists that love to draw the smallest details on their pieces. I owe a 0.2 and it goes wherever. My only complaint about it is the lack of a grip session.
    Orenz is built somewhat like classic/popular Pentel models and lacks a grip session, which is a bit bothersome for me and my drawing routine, HOWEVER, it's round and balanced two qualities that makes up for my hands to take longer before they tire from holding it. Compared with the classic model, it's also thiner, which allows the user to buy separate grips and attach them to the auto-pencil if they need it a lot (like me).
    Overall, I can say Orenz is an unique and great auto-pencil that deserves more love than it receives. I'd recommend it any day for any artist. ❤

    • @kataramommy
      @kataramommy Před 6 lety +1

      I have the pink .2 one, but I was wondering if the metal one is heavier? It looks like it has a bit of texture on the grip. Have you tried the metal one? It is on my wishlist at Jetpens.

    • @fishushu
      @fishushu Před 6 lety +1

      Kelly Lester The metal one is just slightly heavier than the normal body of the Orenz, but the balance center is at the same point. I'd recommend it for people who have an extremely light style of writing or who likes to hold their writing tools closer to the middle of its length.
      As for the texture on the grip, for all I know, most Pentel Orenz models have it. It's somewhat like the Pentel Sharp grip, marks where one should hold the pencil, but isn't exactly what one can call a grip when compared to other models. If you seek a mid-weight or heavy pencil with textured grips, I'd suggest the GraphGear line, the 500 and 1000 models are heavy with a sturdy body and nicely textured grip, while the 800 model has a nice mid-weight and a slightly bigger grip to accomodate your hand and allow for long hours of writing. You won't find the .2 lead in these three models though, but they do have the .3 and, you can find them all at jetpens.com too!
      I hope this helps you. And remember: keep writing! ♡♡

    • @kataramommy
      @kataramommy Před 6 lety +1

      Oh! Thank you for a detailed reply! I love trying out new writing instruments. I have a Kuru Toga Advance .3 and it is very nice. I hold my pencils closer to the nib and my pens further back. But I think that is because I favor mid weight pens. (Energel Philography and Sarasa Grand) and my pencils are a bit lighter. It sounds like I might like the 800 model. I will try it out! Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge!
