Great reaction to this masterpiece by Faouzia. We forget that Faouzia is an accomplished pianist, this is probably her interpretation of what Beethoven mindset was when he composed this. Yes, it’s dark, melancholic, but art nonetheless. Faouzia, gets inspiration from observing others, she has a knack for putting herself in character, and writing lyrics as if she’s read your diary.

yup tha's how classical Berber and Arabic traditional music usually mimicking, they mimic the sound of the rababah or string instrument.

She definitely did mimic the piano a couple of times. I’d have to listen more to capture the other things you’re talking about, her making other instruments. Not that she sounds like them, but she’s mimicking the notes and that’s cool.

Best vocal reaction to this song! Love that you went into the actual psychology of this song. Faouzia did great with this song to include it into her repertoire of heartbreaking 💔 songs. She finished her engineering degree and is now studying Psychology of which she has put to good use in this song, singing about an unhealthy narcissistic relationship that so many fall into... from Canada here 🇨🇦🩷 🇨🇦 ❤

A vocal masterpiece on a Beethoven claasic masterpiece ! Faouzia delivered a visually and artistically masterful performance for the ages ! Just a piano, cello and voice was all that was needed to draw you into her world ! Faouzia is an unbelievably talented singer songwriter that is able to connect on so many levels with her audience ! She is the real deal ! Beauty, brains and talent are three truths we know as FAOUZIA ! Thank you so much for continuing your wonderful journey with this wonderful beautiful artist from Canada. This was an absolute gem and your CZcams channel is always must watch! Please keep posting my friend. Sending much thanks and love from Canada always 👍🇨🇦🇨🇦❤️❤️❤️

As far as the initial imagery. Socks, heels, safety pins, fur elise...seems to me its all a symbolic metaphor for trying to hold together the chaos that is herself.

Never heard you talk so much about the psychological, but this song makes your heart skip a beat and I totally agree with you. Very few songs make you feel that way. Pure love of Faouzia to come out with this song now. And with the feeling she gives out in the song is incomparable. Almost all of Faouzia's songs are about emotions, and she does it simply too well. You feel love for her songs and her manner. But thank you for your reaction and the speech from you on this text in the song. You are truly the best of all when it comes to both emotions and radiance.

I love your in-depth analysis of this song ❤Some things you pointed out I didn't even see until now. Faouzia's music is often so dramatic, but in a good way, if that makes sense. I once read that other people's experiences are what inspires many of her songs, but I can't help but wonder if she ever was in a toxic relationship herself (I hope not!). Her fans noticed that "Fur Elise" could be a prequel to "Puppet", because of the line: "I'll dance like a puppet on your string". In "Puppet" the narrator is free from the toxicity and ready to move on.

  • @NipperBJ
    @NipperBJ Před 2 měsíci +7

Since we are getting into interpretations of this song, let’s try this.
Assume for a moment that the piano is being personified and is speaking to the writer of any song. The piano is commanded to play the notes written by the writer. The melody in this case is Fur Elise.

What a beautiful song, I love how she incorporates little pieces of classical music into the song. Faouzia is definitely one of my artists right now. However, Fur Elise means For Elise, it doesn’t make sense to say” my name is for Elise. Of course this doesn’t diminish the beauty of this song.

Maybe it is just me, but the few seconds of runs toward the end sound jazzy. I saw Faouzia sing Fly Me To The Moon in a short video which reminded me of Ella Fitzgerald. I don't know if she listens to jazz, but she'd be fantastic at it with her scat singing.
I've been listening to some artists from Arab nations, such as Aseel Hameem, Elissa, Nancy Ajaram, Shiran and others. I found Faouzia's music and vocal style differ significantly from theirs. I'm ignorant of music theory but I believe that in addition to the different musical scales used in Arab music, the traditional instruments and cultural milieu influence how people sing. Although Faouzia was born in Morocco, she moved to Canada as a baby. So she most likely grew up listening to a very diverse range of music from all over the world, plus her classical piano lessons from a young age and her talent, blended these elements to create her own unique Faouzia Music.

Dorota Osińska is a master of sound jumping on the scale too (I don't know what it is called professionally).
Her scale is amazing. Her control is unreal.
I suggest you watch how she sang the song "Je t'aime" by Lara Fabian in the program The Voice of Poland:
💖💖💖The Voice of Poland - Dorota Osińska - "Je t'aime💖💖💖
Let the recommendation be a post by someone under the video of Dorota's performance written in French "On m'avait dit elle chante mieux que Lara, j'ai cru à une blague, mais elle déchire" => eng. “I'd been told that she sings better than Lara, so I thought it was a joke, but she kicks ass!”
I want to add that Dorota is a blind person who sang this song without knowing French.
Dorota is an example of a person with great talent who, as a result of many reasons, has unfortunately not had the career that a person with such talent deserves.
I also recommend seeing her first performance on The Voice of Poland. The video has English subtitles:
🧡🧡🧡The Voice of Poland - Dorota Osińska „Calling You" with English subtitles🧡🧡🧡

it's an amazing how our individual mind interprets a song, but nicely done Rosalie. much love💜
her experience of dark side came at very young age singing old Arabic songs that her dad listened to.
I don't think she was in any narcissist relationship. she was (and is) very protective by her mom & her older sister.
give Faouzia one word, & she'll make a story out of it...she's very creative & loves story telling.
u don't believe me? she learned about Exothermic in her Engineering class & made a song out of it, titled Exothermic!
she gets most of the hurtful relationship stories from her girlfriends, school friends, movies, soap operas...she is very observant.
she has few friends who are lyricist co-writers to her songs.
I think it's a collective pains of others that she's telling a story & make it like it's her own.
    she's outstanding artist!

When I first heard this song, I didn’t think she was singing about a romantic relationship.
I thought instead about the strong draw to the very talented. We are attracted to and want to be close to outstanding musicians, artists, writers, politicians, chefs, and others. Maybe it’s a need for belonging, or maybe it’s tied to a desire for success.
Is the singer frustrated in achieving her own success, and willing to subjugate herself to share another’s success? That’s the specific toxicity I heard in these lyrics.
Obviously there are different interpretations and intents. As a lyricist, seems she is playing with different subtexts and changing narratives.
I hope in real life, she realizes she’s ‘The Artist’. She’s SO creative. Maybe the song expresses her frustration with not yet achieving her own goals. And this a monologue where she asks herself ‘what is she prepared to give up?’.
Maybe it’s still unresolved. Or maybe the break in her voice in the final phrase is when she decides. I hope she chooses wisely.

I'm sorry, but if like me what you care about primarily is musicality, forget Dimash, Morrissette, So Hyang, etc., to me live she is clearly the best singer on the planet right now, period.

This recording is marred by the obvious pitch correction. I couldn’t get through the whole thing. It’s sad when the perfect is the enemy of the good. She obviously is a talented singer, too bad the producers destroyed her art, in my opinion.
