I'm an Aussie story teller. I made this recording to prove that I can imagine a subject and play the music that tells that story. I believe I can turn pictures into music to bring out the essence of the subject matter and enhance visual images. I'm calling this 'Film Score Piano'. it's based on story board in my head and is a mix of themes and improvisations while thinking about a subject matter (the destruction of the planet in this case) -- you will note that the happy theme is at the end when the human race is gone and the planet is free to renew itself. I never said musicians weren't weird!

This video was kind of an accident... (trust me, if I knew this was going to be filmed I would have put make-up on, it just 'happened') - Its partially an improvisation and I'm choosing to think it happened for a reason. Maybe its the 'break' I'm waiting for. And....maybe I'll meet you because of it.

Thanks, its good English name. Originally I was a 'Heaney' then I married into Hawkins. When I divorced I kept the name. There are now two Fiona Joy Hawkins - the other one is my sister in law.

I Love this improvisational piece, so heartfelt and emotional. All on one instrument too. I used to sit around a play like this, never thought about applying for film scores, Amazing job, very expressive, you really speak volumes with your notes.

So delicate, so sensitive, so emotional and so heartfelt. Like an angel is guiding your fingers and creative juices. Wonderful transitions with double octave accent notes and speed changes. Makes me feel like a paperboat being blown across a still pond by gentle breezes.

I have followed you and your music since your first album, I own them all. Every single album touches me differently. Your music was played at my Wedding, played at my Daughters first birthday, and at the funeral of my Father and also my Mother. We all loved you dearly. I remember my Mom saying once.." You should marry the girl". I told her that you were so far above me I could never touch you. I hear several pieces of music in this session and I must say, this picture session is my favorite. When I first heard this whole piece, It made me cry with so many different emotions. Thank you so very much for your music

Saya tidak mahir berlian atau main orgeen, namun tidak begitu buta dalam mendengar suara not dibunyikan di alat khususnya Orgeen dalam jenis suara piano, jadi saya turut menikmati kehebatan NonViona memainkan jari jemari Nya beliau sangat memainkan dengan sepenuh hati seluruh ungkapan perasaan diwakilkan tekanan2 jari jemari nya memunculkan suara2bagai di sontrex difilm2, kadang sperti horor,, kadang gembira, kadang galau, kadang sunyi, kadang emosi amarah yang meledak-ledak, kadang rasa romantis menya juga saya rasa jadi harudeh

Much respect for your music Fiona I can remember hearing you play music when I was young (I was friends with your son Ben) and now I am a musician myself, at the time I dont think I fully appreciated what I was hearing. Instruments without sustain are hard to convey feeling and emotion and you do it effortlessly, hopefully one day I can express that on my instruments as well as you do

Since I was a child, I have had a recurring dream that I am just a giant sensient eye that watches over the destruction of our beautiful Earth as we know it. All living beings are already gone, and fire rages everywhere for years. Then, as the fires have burnt through all the fuel, and the land is charred and blackened, there is rain, and I see one small green plant shoot slowly but determinedly lift through the black soil, reaching for the gentle sun. The eye sheds one single tear of deeply felt love and the release of knowing Earth will be alright, and it/I/we fade away into space and peaceful nothingness, satisfied that this incredible planet is cleansed, and has begun healing, free of brutal humanity. Perhaps next time the dream visits my slumber, it will be accompanied by your creation.
My imagination is similar - such synchronicity. The story in my head is a post apocalyptic one where there is a small fragment of plastic in a layer of sediment on an exposed cliff face. The wind has exposed it and it breaks free to be take by the wind and drift... as it does we follow it (kind of like the feather in Forrest Gump). It shows us the re-birthing of the planet as the wind crosses plains, lakes, forests and beaches, allowing us to view the birthing and evolution of the next stage of Earth. Cool huh. I loved your story, so similar to mine.
We need a few million, a good Director and a film crew to bring the story to life.

It's a perfect and sensitive playing ... but between minutes 1:00 and 1:55 and the theme sounds extremely familiar from a previously applied Movie or smthng..
