Yesssss
Good asmr video
do you remember what paper these were swabbed onto?
I know im randomly asking but does anybody know of a method to get back into an Instagram account??
I somehow lost the password. I love any tips you can give me!
@Carter Lucian Instablaster :)
I shouldn't have watched this video
Now soon my savings will be spent
Psst.....that was their secret plan!
Then you want to buy pens for each ink, then you buy more pens than you need, then you buy more inks.
I already spent all my savings on pens and inks.
Oh, wait!!!!! I still have checks left in my check book! I do have money left😆😆😆😆😆😨😨😨😨😭😭😭😭😭.
I am afraid to end up same way, got into Fountain pens in June and already got De atramentis Lime green parfumed, Pilot Iroshizuku Fukurokuju love both of them(also have 1€ Koh-i-nor blue, but who doesnt need blue ink,...)
@@x-changex-outx-oner8224 After the pens and ink, don't forget the paper. Which reminds me I need to get some Clairfontaine notebooks.
ever since I've lost all of my notes in a notebook due to heavy rain, it's been nothing but waterproof inks for me
Same. What are your favorites?
@@meshzzizk sailor seiboku, de atramentis document dark red, platinum forest black
what are your favs? I'm looking for more water resistant colors. preferably with good shading :)
@@ireneadler4925 I’m also a big fan of the Sailor pigment inks, Seiboku probably being my fav of the 3. Have you tried Cassis Black from the Platinum iron gall line? Was surprised by how much I liked that one
My other standard go-tos have been Kala -Spectrolite, -Scapolite (good shading), and -Hematite, and Noodlers -Air Corp Blue Black (nice shading in finer nibs), -Black Swan in Australian Roses (great shading), and Kung Te Cheng (none!).
Tbh I’ve gone a bit mad over the past year of covid lockdown experimenting with different ink mixtures, so most of my pens are currently filled with various ink blends that would make the average fountain pen user recoil in horror. I’ll take a non-waterproof ink I want to use and mix in a little permanent ink of a complementary color for ballast, or start with a permanent ink that’s a little bland on the page and add a dab of sheening ink and a splash of one that shades well. It has occasionally gotten messy but more often yielded some of the nicest looking writing in my notebooks from 2020-21
@@ireneadler4925 Oh, and i should put in a good word for Faber-Castell Moss Green, which is hands down the nicest green ink I’ve found. Not robustly waterproof but enough that you wouldn’t have to worry about losing the text, and very attractive tone, shading, and read-back.
When's the new Sherlock Holmes coming out?!
I find that Rohrer & Klingner really does have such a consistent and well performing formula. Can never go wrong
I've watched an obscene amount of Goulet content on CZcams, but this was the first time I've seen this video. I have all but two of these inks. I don't have the Diamine Oxblood and I don't have Noodler's Black Swan in Australian Roses. I recognized the Colorverse Quasar before they named it and I JUST finished a bottle of Lamy Azurite (that bottle is tough to get up the dregs -- unlike the larger Lamy bottles, it doesn't have the depression in the middle of the bottle --, but I used a snorkel to get up the last drops) and reordered some more yesterday. I think this is a great list.
Others I think are worth mentioning would be:
Diamine Golden Oasis
KWZ Sheen Machine 2
Vinta Inks Maharlika
Vinta Inks Harlequin
Diamine Inkvent Blue Edition Blue Peppermint
Diamine Inkvent Blue Edition Jack Frost
Monteverde's entire Noir series (I bought the set and I LOVE them!)
Organics Studio Santiago's Sea Blue
Organic Studios Masters of Writing Edgar Allan Poe Raven Red
Ya know, just add anything by Organic Studios. I love their inks
Pilot Iroshizuku inks (they mentioned Kon-Peki, but they're all gorgeous inks. One of my favorite brands.)
There are several Robert Oster inks I like but I hate their bottles (you can't get a nib into the bottle). I usually buy empty 50ml ink bottles from Goulet and pour the Robert Oster ink into those.
OK, I've said way more than anyone will ever read. I'll stop.
I read all of this. Thanks for taking the time to post it!
@@debbie9068 You have way too much time on your hands, Debbie. 😂
Id honesty read more, great insights. Its seems like you enjoy the sheening inks blue- red sheen. I do too
An ink that is always overlooked is Monteverde Yosemite Green. It's a very rich color with decent shading and a magenta sheen. My absolute favorite
Yes! There's a lot of seriously underrated Monteverde inks. - Colin
I like a lot of Monteverde inks. I bought the entire Noir collection and they are really beautiful inks. I'm late to the party on this video, but I wrote a book in my reply listing inks I would add to a must-have list.
Thats the green in my journaling pen. Yosemite green is just a little more vibrant and less formal than the teals or emerald greens people usually use. I haven't found another green i like looking at as much as Yosemite green
only problem with monteverde ink is not being waterproof
I love Horizon blue
One of the best productions showcasing your ink colors. Really is characteristic of what they would look like in-person. Keep it up!!
You must be kidding. Swatches and a wet glass nib shows nothing of how an ink will perform from a fountain pen ink. But for the joy of colour this was great.
@@kevinu.k.7042 If you carefully read my statement, I didn't mention writing, paper, or painting with it.
Organics Studio Nitrogen is my favorite so far. I love that the color pops but it’s professional enough to be used at work. It’s gorgeous. And for journaling, definitely Apache Sunset. THE COLORS!!!
I love the subtlety of Diamine's Autumn Oak - so pretty!
It's incredible how many comments this video has already! The fountain pen/ink community is wonderfully passionate and vocal about what they love :) I've purchased three inks and fifteen samples, but my favorite is Herbin's Parfum Violette. It smells amazing and the color is magical and vibrant. I'm considering buying Kyo Iro Moonlight of Higashiyama next, or maybe Herbin Rouille D'ancre. I have both in samples, and love them when I want a more muted, vintage feel.
I just got my hands on one of your ink sample packages and I must say I’m in love with these amazing shading and sheening inks. It really makes handwriting stand out.
Here’s 5 of my all-time favorites:
1. Rohrer and Klingner Cassia (the truest of true purples in my opinion).
2. Diamine Majestic Blue (deep, dark blue with a nice red sheen).
3. Noodler’s La Couleur Royale (awesome bluish purple).
4. Private Reserve Ebony Brown (always in my Custom 823!).
5. “Waterman” Tanzanite (equal parts Waterman Tender Purple & Serenity Blue), per Richard Binder’s advice on his website.
I agree about California Teal. My go-to ink for any new pen, great shading, and permanence is Noodler's Lexington Gray. It was the first bottle of ink I purchased, and I'll always need to have some on hand.
Platinum Carbon Black. If I could only have one ink (in a nightmare world) it would be Carbon black. I am a lefty and a sketcher, although I have and like Noodlers Black, it does not dry as fast or look as deep in tone as Carbon black. In a Carbon desk pen, I have never tried it in my other pens (yet). That also gives me the finest line for journal entries and inking sketches. Plus waterproof. Nitrogen is number two, closely followed by Organics Studio Walden. Those two have monster sheen even with fine nibs and cheap paper. I sampled Diamine Oxblood and thought it too dark so I bought a bottle of Diamine Red Dragon. By the time it came, I was in love with the darkness of Oxblood. Go figure! I can't justify buying another bottle that is close to the red I have, can I?
Anne Badgley have you tried sailor kiwa guro? I haven't tried carbon black but I feel the same way about kiwa guro :)
Anne Badgley Fellow lefty here. I like Organics Studios’ inks, but they gave me a lot of hard starts. I like Diamine’s iridescink series a little more. My black ink of choice is Noodler’s Heart of Darkness, which is a true black unlike Noodler’s black, which is more of a dark brown to me.
I was honestly thinking of loading up an Opus88 Omar with the Carbon Black. Right now it has Noodler's Black in it. The ink handles quite well in the EF nib.
i'm left handed to but don't know where to start to get the right supplies like where to get the right pen or right anything. Can you recommend anything for a new be?
I am right handed, but always manage to smear ink somehow. I'll have to try carbon black, if I find it for a good price. And no, I won't write on expensive paper, I go to school.
Don't sleep on the Diamine Syrah - I just got it a couple of days ago and it is stunning!
I only have about 5 inks, but I'm absolutely in love with Rohrer & Klingner Scabiosa. I have it in my jinhao shark and my moonman wancai.
cerealnana really? I got a sample and it’s so faint! Did I get bad batch or something?
Diamine oxford blue is a must have, it's very very formal, yet adds character and intrigue to one's writing due to its midnight, blue-black look. It's as close to black as a blue ink can get, but will never be perceived as one due to its red sheen and visible blue tones.
i’m just getting into fountain pens, but i was browsing your site and absolutely fell in love with the diamine oxblood ink!
I’m just getting into fountain pens and learning Spencerian. After watching your channel for the last two weeks-I can’t believe the rabbit hole I’m finding myself going down. I want all of these inks!
The first ink I ever bought was the Noodler’s Anti-Feather Blue, and I love it! It’s a gorgeous deep blue shade. Also recently got a sample of De Atramentis Jane Austen, which is an absolutely lovely green, somewhere between olive and forest, which I plan to get a whole bottle of
Her right middle finger alone says, "I use fountain pens!" 1:09
*i have a few of these exquisitely beautiful inks and they truly are works of art in their own right... perfect additions to any designers kit for expressive texturing or the keeping of journals*
My personal favorite is diamines autumn oak but these are beautyfull as wel!
Diamine Skull & Roses
Rohrer & Klingner Alt-Goldgrün and Helianthus
I've gotten Lamy's Azurite a few days ago and love it, definitely a new favorite.
Totally agree on Alt-Goldgrün.
I'm just getting started...and the first ink I bought was J. Herbin Emerald of Chivor. Good beginning!
Good choice.😌👌
I realize this comment is a year old.. but I'm just getting started myself and my first ink was Diamine's Soft Mint. I love it
J. Herbin Violet is a long time favorite!
Diamine blue velvet. I am inlove with that blue my go to blue ink used for my pelikans
Diamine Imperial Purple and Earl Grey are my two favorites, and I also LOVE how Pilot Iroshizuku take-sumi writes very wet. :D
Very inspiring video. Have Noodlers Apache Sunset firm on my wishlist now. Added some of the blues too. My current “liquid writing love” is Akkerman Dutch Masters Van Huysums Sap Green. Beautiful shading wet ink in a very good visible professional looking light green. And then as a bonus you have this beautiful ink bottle.
I LOVE Diamine Red Dragon!!! My favorite and I write with it every day in my journal with my TWSBI pink pen.
Yes, a great alternative to Oxblood. I know Brian is partial to Red Dragon as well. - Colin
This review truly was a feast for the eyes. Very lovely indeed.
I‘ve been enjoying Pelikan Edelstein Topaz as my main writing ink for over a year now. Used with my beloved Muji MoMa fountain pen.
Some of my favorites: Diamine Sherwood Green, Noodlers Red Black. Brown is difficult to render, I think. It's all to easy to create an ink that is flat, and dull. For a brown ink, I like Visconti Sepia; for purple, De Atramentis Aubergine, or Hamilton; for blue Diamine Oxford Blue or Sargasso Sea.
I really like Noodler's Black Eel - it's a well behaved ink and a lovely dark black. I also fell in love with 3 Oysters Delicious Purple-grey, which is a mellow, easy to read color, and Noodler's Air Corp Blue(GREEN!)-Black, such an unusual color.
Agree with all of these. I have some of them but my favorite everyday ink has been Monteverde Jade Noir- a green so dark it looks black until you look closely. It’s stealthily unique which amuses me. Big shout out to Baystate Blue, too, which has become a favorite and regular writer for me in the month I’ve had it.
My favourite is Diamine’s Ancient Copper
Agreed. Outstanding
I really didn't see the hype in this ink. Maybe I wasn't using it in the right conditions.
Just Google searched it. Looks gorgeous.
Love it and have it in one of my pens right now.
Yes, that's a pretty ink too.
Love how you use the glass pen
I love the Diamine Inks’ Aurora Borealis! And Robert Oster’s Caffé Crema!
My all time favorite ink is the Pilot Iroshizuku Yama-Budo
mine too :) but its very expensive 😭
@@bartsi7325 not compared to Colorverse
@@DD-d6d3 no compared to sailor bungbox
Good choices! One may have different champion inks, but these, as a set, cover a lot. Thank you.
Fire and Ice is my personal favorite but I also really enjoy Blue Velvet.
cyclopsboi Those are 2 of my favorites, too! Good choices!
Fire and Ice is definitely a classic. 👍
Blue velvet is GORGEOUS
I'm still pretty new to the fountain pen world, and I ordered a lot of ink samples the other day from your site. One of my friends told me that Emerald of Chivor was popular, so I made sure to throw that one in. I'm looking forward to trying it.
Black Swan in Australian Roses is my all time fave!!
Yes. A good one.
The name alone is gorgeous, never mind the colour!
I agree! The name is gorgeous and the ink always looks great.
My very first bottle of ink was the Black Swan in Australian Roses and it still blows me away.
this format is absolutely flawless
Looking to do more of these! Maybe one that's completely focused on waterproof options (only Noodler's Black is on this list). - Colin
Got my first bottle of Kon Peki with my Vanishing Point that shipped in from Goulet this morning. I'm absolutely in love. Other favorites for me are Diamine Oxblood and Iroshizuku Yama Budo
Instead of Noodler's Black, I'll take Platinum carbon black. I use it for ink drawing and it works great. (other than the need of more care when cleaning)
Also, I'll take Sailor Seiboku as permenant blue black ink.
Pilot / Namiki blue for everyday working.
The rest is...well depends on how much fun I want.
Even though is a little hard to clean, Diamine Registars Ink is amazing. The change of color makes it interesting, is waterproof and works well on ordinary paper.
Pilot Iroshizuku Murasaki Shikibu is my favourite one... but I really feel like trying some of the ones you shared here. Thanks for this tour!
I couldn't agree more on the Oxblood. Black swans are nice, but I think I prefer them in English roses. I'm also fond of J. Herbin's Lie de Thé and Diamine's Ancient Copper. At the moment I have Diamine's Sepia in the pen I've been using at work. It's a bit light for my taste, but it's growing on me.
Very solid list! Nicely done. My go-to blue is Monteverde Horizon Blue. It’s just a perfect intermediate true blue. I’m also a fan of the purple-tinged Pilot Iroshizuku asa-gao. And Diamine Eau du Nil is a lovely mysterious blue-green.
All great colors! I was really trying to push Horizon Blue in the list, but was afraid of 'too much blue' backlash. - Colin
Loving the Pilot Iroshizuku Ama-Iro ink in sky blue. Very refreshing!
Me too, with a bold nib!
I first picked up a fountain pen some months ago and contemplated my choice of ink. I wanted something that was striking, bold and yet office friendly. In the end I picked up Diamine Oxblood. I will try other inks, for sure, but I'd like to give myself a pat on the back for choosing such a solid ink early on in such a delightful hobby.
Well done! This is only the beginning. Welcome to the rabbit hole. 😉
My god, these colours are so beautiful! We've been missing out on a lot since using ball-point pens. I need to get back to writing with fountain pens.
Apache Sunset feels like I am writing with flames. A beautiful ink! Noodler's Ink has so many good choices.
I ... LOVE ... these colors!!!
Noodler's General of the Armies is always a go to for me.
My go-to remains the cheap Pelikan 4001 Brilliant Black. As for my favorite right now, that would be the versatile Montblanc Midnight Blue - what an awesome blue-black! I do also love Noodler's Habanero more than Apache Sunset - more saturation with the same (or better) shading. Now I'm off to try some sheening inks, your suggestion of OS Nitrogen and JH Emeraude de Chivor seem very promising! Great video!
Well, my two go to inks are the parker blue black quink, and the iroshizuku yama budo. I really like the shading in both of those
Love this video! I definitely agree with (1)Emerald of Chivor, (2)Apache Sunset, (3)Black Swan in Australian Roses, and (4)Lamy's Azurite. For myself, and my preferences, I would also add: (5)Diamine-Meadow..such an awesome bright grassy green with amazing shading; (6)Rohrer & Klingner-ALT-GOLDGRUN..an olivey green that speaks to my grunge soul and has beautiful shading; My new fave, (7)Robert Oster-Schwarz Rose...a blackish grey ink with the most beautiful rose gold shimmer....gaaah love!!; (8)Robert Oster-Blue Moon...a beautiful bright blue with blue shimmer; (9)Noodler's-Heart of Darkness...for the deep dark black that I NEED for everyday writing, when color is not allowed; and (10)Noodler's Habanero...when I need something a little darker, and spicier than the Apache Sunset! But let's be honest...I have more like a top 20...no, 50...I love all my ink babies!!
Definitely agree about *Diamine Oxblood.* But can't agree that the ink most closely resembling dried human blood would be appropriate for an office setting. Love letters? Yes! But co-workers in an office setting might get the wrong impression if they see hand-written memos suspiciously looking like dried blood.
*Sheaffer Red* if you want a rich vibrant red that most closely resembles fresh blood that hasn't dried. More appropriate for the office, and still great for romantic Love letters. (Especially if your special someone might get horrified at the thought you gave them a letter written in what they think is actual blood that has dried by the time it reached them.)
*Noodler's Heart of Darkness* is an excellent black ink as well. And represents something truly important. Especially when paired up with Noodler's free Charlie pen.
I love Oxblood! Since I'm already "the weird guy with pens" in the office, I don't think using dried blood as ink has changed my image to the worse 8-)
It's funny though if you have it on your fingers and your team mates silently start to look around if one of them is missing. Ah, just kidding!
i love diamine blood dragon , beautiful red, not so bloody :)
I'm also using Oxblood in my daily office pen. But I pair it almost exclusively with ivory paper, not completely white. There's just something calming about that colour combination that doesn't disturb me when I'm looking back at my notes and thinking.
NGMonocrom this is the reason I favored the Lamy Ruby red, especially if working at a clinical setting 😁😁😁
I keep it in my shark pen, so It suppose to look like dried blood:)
I'm a Noodlers fan when it comes to ink, and you've covered 3 of my favorites with exception to Noodlers Black Swan in an English Rose Garden. Try it you'll love it. Write On!
I have 3 of them! Organics Studio Nitrogen, Monteverde California Teal, and Diamine Oxblood!
Noodlers Midnight Blue! There's practically no press on this spectacular dark blue.
Yes to Monteverdi's California Teal. My other favourites are Diamine's Autumn Oak, and Diamine's Red Dragon. Edelstein's Topaz. Rohrer and Klingner's Alt Goldgrun. Robert Oster's Sublime. Diamine's Safari. Platinum's Citrus Black, Sailor's Irori, and my favourite black is Kuretake's sumi ink. Also very fond of Rohrer and Klingner's Scabiosa, and Iroshizuku's Chiku-Rin.
My go-to blue ink is Monteverde Horizon Blue. Lubricated like all Monteverde inks, very well-behaved on inexpensive paper, nice red sheen, and a very vibrant true blue.
My long term favorite is Herbin Poussiere de Lune. It's nice, a little different, but it won't piss off your bank. Diamine Writer's Blood is giving it a run for its money these days, and this year's Inkvent featured another in that vein called Seize the Night, which I really enjoy. I love shading, and Monteverde Fire Opal and Cherry Danish both go absolutely wild on that. But the Iroshizuku line wins on all ties in every color because the bottle is absolutely inspired and also I've never had any problems in any of my pens, no matter how fussy, from any of them.
Tough there is a lot of ink to choose from, I still Love the Wterman Serenity Blue. Shines out from the rest in a beautifulshade. I love it!
Beautiful video, as usual!! If I was marooned on an island with my journal, my TWSBI Eco and only ONE ink of my choosing, it would definitely be my favorite of all time-Noodler's Golden Brown!!
Such an amazing shader as well! - Colin
Diamine Eclipse is a fave. It's a beautiful black purple.
I really nerded out on this video thanks.
Wow, I definitely need to buy more ink! I only have one of these! I'd also recommend Diamine Asa Blue or Earl Grey and Platinum Blue-Black.
Great additions. Earl Grey is my go-to grey ink with the purple tint it has. - Colin
Asa blue is one of my favourites! Lovely colour and also sheens under the right conditions
FINALLY!!!!
THANKYOUTHANKYOUTHANKYOU!👍😁😁
Very fine collection of some spectacular inks, thank you for the video. The ink I like to use, when it comes to longer writing is Diamine Eau de Nil. It is like... smooth to look at when you have to read a lot of text if that makes sense. Not spectacular, just nice and easy to read and look at. A quiet ink, I would say.
Right now my favorite ink is Colorverse Stars and Stripes- awesome sheen and shimmer combo
I love Kon-Peki and Apache Sunset. For teal, I love Iroshizuku Ku Jaku and Private Reserve Blue Suede, but now that I see the sheen on California Teal, I'm in! Lastly, Black Swan in English Roses also deserves some love especially if, like me, you like something that leans more burgundy. Thanks for the great review!
My surprise ink was perfect!!! Thanks Guys!!
A good list. I have bottles or samples of most of these inks. I would make one addition and one change, though. I would add Robert Oster Tranquility. It is probably my favorite ink, and it is the only ink I use in my Visconti Homo Sapiens. Also, while Diamine Oxblood is a great ink, I prefer Diamine Ancient Copper.
All the sailor ink studio dual shading inks are must haves
Favorite for a while has been Diamine Blue Velvet!
Von Graf Faber Castell Moss Green!
Pilot Iroshizuku Tsuki-yo and Asa-gao are really nice blues too!
Rare to hear Graf von Faber-Castell, and Moss Green is one of their best. I use Burned Orange myself.
This was so satisfying. I never really got into fountain pens because I’m a lefty and always had trouble, but I’m thinking I wanna try it again.
Being a lefty should not stop you from using a fountain pen. It's just as easy to underwrite as a lefty as it is for a righty. If you weren't taught, there are plenty of instructional videos. There have been hundreds of lefties who used dip pens and fountain pens beautifully, and with no smearing.
Thomas Jefferson used a quill, which I've found is much harder to write with than a fountain pen, and his handwriting was stunning.
When I was young, about the same time Thomas Jefferson was doing his thing, they taught lefties to write with a straight wrist, and the hand never came close to the ink. I don't know why that isn't taught now. But they don't even teach most kids who are righties the corrent way to hold a pen or pencil now.
@@jamesaritchie1 when I underwrite, my handwriting, which is normally beautiful, significantly suffers. However, I bought my first fountain pen (a Lamy Al-Star), and I find that if I significantly OVERwrite, I don’t have trouble at all. Now I’m fountain pen obsessed and have at least 20 pens listed in my wishlist. 😆
I'm really digging at least 3 colors: Monteverde Fireopal Ink, Ooly Splendid Blue (Cartridge Only), and Montblanc Irish Green.
All of them can shade well and stay their own colors since I've had samples that darken considerably with time to almost-black.
Lamy Azurite really won me over. Great ink.
Even though it's maddening, I still always have a pen inked up with Noodler's Baystate Blue. It's just a unique ink.
Even though it's pricey, BunguBox's Piano Mahogany looks and works beautifully in every pen I've inked it with.
Diamine Oxford Blue is my go to dark blue ink. It's rich with some red sheen. Love it.
Krishna Jungle Volcano is another unique ink that should be in every collection. Krishna Causal is my favourite blue green ink.
Robert Oster's River of Fire and Fire and Ice are no brainers for me.
For a standard black ink, Aurora Black for me.
There's lots of other great inks i love, but these are my must haves.
Bay State Blue for the win. Has yet to give me any problems, though just to be safe I have dedicated a couple of cheap pens to it.
Great to know krishna inks is internationally popular
As usual, Goulet is 100% right on with these choices. Each one is epic. But I like Dragon Red better than Oxblood. Whatever.
That was my first thought too 😂
Brian Goulet agrees with you! Dragon Red is in his top 5 Diamine Inks video.
For a great black I love Platinum Carbon black, it dries fast and is great for Urban Sketching. I used it at the Urban Sketchers Symposium in Amsterdam last week. I do love a Nitrogen, when used with water it is incredibly powerful. de Altramentis doc green, doc dark red and doc turquoise are also great for urban sketching. Thanks for this gorgeous video, mesmerizing.. btw I will be at the San Francisco Pen show in a few weeks with my Fearless Felt Watercolor Sketchbooks! EileenPGoldenberg
I've got the Black Swan and Apache Sunset, and they're probably my favorite inks
Baystate Blue! Iroshizuku Asa-Gao, Navajo Turquoise, Lexington Gray, Lamy Beryl [Definitely agree with Black Swan in Australian Roses, CV Quasar, Apache Sunset, and OS Nitrogen.]
My must have inks: KWZ Azure #5, a near match for Parker Penman Sapphire. Iroshizuku Shin Ryoku, the best green. Kyo no Oto Nurebairo, a black with lots of copper sheen. Blackstone Lemur Lime, a neon lime green with high shading. Noodler's Air Corp Blue Black (read: green black), I can't really explain what it is about this ink, I just love it.
I love the Pilot Iroshizuku Ama-Iro
My 10 favorite inks:
Diamine Red Dragon
Diamine Sherwood Green
Diamine Blue Velvet
Noodler's Antietam
Noodler's Ottoman Azure
Noodler's Black Swan in Australian Roses
Noodler's Habanero
J. Herbin Emerald of Chivor
R&K Alt-Goldgrun
Pilot Iroshizuku Yama-Budo
I really like Antietam, balanced between red and orange (persimmon? ) (I also like Akkerman's "Steen Rood", which is similar but more brick than fruit!).
Alt Goldgrun is one of the classics for sure! For their limited range, R&K have some excellent inks (thinking the Iron Galls, Sepia and Helianthus - Fernambuk might be a more personal choice!)
Great video! California Teal is my current favorite. I’m still looking for the perfect blue. Thanks for the suggestions.
I like Noodlers Bay State blue
Try Edelstein's Topaz.
I gladly say I have 3 of them. My other favourite colour is sailor's rikyu-cha.
Mine is Robert Oster Peppermint , Diamine Arctic Blue and now Jacques Herbin Orange Soleil
Seriously beautiful inks ....I have been collecting ink colours of various brands...darn I don't have a single one in the list
Though I do have diamine marine and I seriously love it
Colorverse Gravity Wave & Caran d'Ache Chromatics Ultraviolett are my daily inks, right now. I change the ink with every new notebook - last two were G.v.Faber-Castell Olive Green and Pilot Iroshizuku Shin-Kai.
I quite like waterman inks. Especially the serenity blue, inspired blue. I love diamine oxblood. Montblanc irish green is also one of my favourites. I love lamy black and pilot black as well. Also i quite like the quink black.
With a name like "Serenity Blue" how can you go wrong!
For me, if I only had one and it had to be it, I'm going with Noodler's 54th Massachusetts. Absolutely fantastic with all nib sizes, dries quickly in my experience, not too fancy in the way a workhorse ink should be and very easy to read. I love it's measured presence and reliability.
One of the best Noodler's inks for sure! Almost included it. - Colin
Love JH Emerald of Chivor and Noodler's Black, but Diamine Red Dragon knocks Oxblood out of the park. Noodler's 54th Massachusetts, Diamine Eclipse, De Atramentis Aubergine, Pilot Iro Ku-Jaku, and anything that's glittery but not pink are also high on my list.
My additional favorites that I use a lot are:
Noodler's Heart of Darkness
Robert Oster Fire and Ice
De Atramentis Johann Sebastian Bach (it's such a wonderful brown with just a hint of purple)
I have heart of Darkness on my list, it seems to be a favorite.
Sydney H Bach was my first ever full bottle purchase - love to see it getting some love, it's a great ink!
@@melrohner I got it as a sample first and loved it, so I bought a bottle.
Can confirm, Heart of Darkness is amazing. I bought the 4.5oz.
We fountain pen and ink lovers have definite opinions about our favorites!
I am no different, although this list is all over the place. But the heart 💜 what the heart ❤️!!
I prefer medium, broad and stub nibs. I like shading inks, not too particular about shimmering and sheening inks.
My favorite inks include:
- Diamine Red Dragon
- Noodlers Black Swan in Australian Roses
- Noodlers Apache Sunset
- J. Herbin Vert Réséda and Rose Cyclamen
- Caran d'Ache Delicate Green
- Diamine Safari
- KWZ Blue Hawaii
- Mont Blanc Lavender Purple
- Diamine SBRE Brown
- Diamine Gris Nuage
Funny, I like Gris Nuage as well, only the one made by J. Herbin. EXTREMELY pale.
