- Today we are in Siem Reap, Cambodia to visit a school that my friend, William, had been volunteer teaching for 3 months. During this visit William is saying his farewells but we also get to see the brand new computer lab that was made possible by donations from some very generous folks that William knows.
The Cambodia Organization for Social Development was established by Mr. Son Sorm, a genocide survivor who as a youth was sponsored by overseas benefactors who helped him get a university education. Listen to Son’s story as he describes that the school is his way of paying back to his fellow citizens with the emphasis of teaching English and Computer skills to all ages of children for free.
The school relies entirely on donations and grants. Son also uses the money he earns as an Angkor Park tour guide. He has shared with me some of the details of what it takes to run the school, with teacher salaries currently being the most significant.
Few things are as important to me as education of Cambodian children, especially to learn English as a second language because that is so important to get a good job when they become adults.
The school now has a website where you can learn more about the school and consider making a supporting donation. Would you please consider making such a donation to this wonderful organization? Even just a few dollars can go a long way to provide a scholarship to a student or help the school grow its infrastructure. Thank you so much.

Beautiful!!! Thank you William and the rest of your supporters!🥰 It is sad that our Government don't reach out to villages for school improvement.
