    I’m glad I can’t afford cosmetic surgery. I am exactly the sort of person who would become addicted and end up looking nothing like myself.
    I wish Katie had allowed herself to age naturally (or reasonably naturally!). She’d look older but a lot prettier. Feminism really hasn’t achieved all that much if, in 2021, all that is important for a woman is that she remains forever young.

    I have a friend who was botched in Korea but also went to a board certified surgeon in the US for a rhinoplasty and also had questionable results. In the end it comes down to the doctor and their case studies. Seeing post surgery results are important and not just in photos but also in video. Seeing how a face moves post surgery is important. The eye can detect if something isn't moving right and the mark of good work is undetectable.

    A moral and ethical cosmetic surgeon will have the scruples and conscience to tell a prospective patient that they do not need even more work done and that they will not work on them. The problem is that a lot of these doctors are just about "show me the money" and the patient gets what the patient wants.
    As a former nurse myself, I find those kinds of so-called medical professionals deplorable.

    • @gardener5857
      @gardener5857 Před 2 lety +3

      It's a business. The patient will get what the patient wants from a different doctor, while doctor A that didn't do the surgery still has school loans, mortgage payments, office rent, equipment notes, etc. etc. etc. & doctor B is driving a luxury car & his office is in the best part of town. I think after turning down a few patients & having financial stressors it would make anyone think twice about turning down business that wasn't too too risky. After all, they didn't choose to be Rheumatologists or Oncologists. They chose a profession where the whole goal is to alter someone's looks. Not heal anything. Not even their ego. Frankly maybe they shouldn't be called doctors at all. Maybe "body architects" or something, because I don't know how this fits with the Hippocratic Oath to do no harm. Even silicone implants are sketchy with absolutely NO health benefit. Just an industry, like any other.

    Having plastic surgery was one of the worst decisions I ever made. This was back in the '80s in the UK and you had to go to a GP to get a plastic surgeon's name. The GP agreed that my chin was too big and gave me the name of a surgeon. I went to see him, and I was so shy I could barely speak. He agreed to do the operation. When I met him again pre-op, I got such a bad feeling about him. He didn't seem to be bothered at all about me and I remember his silk suit. He did a terrible job. Because of the scar tissue, my profile was ruined and my chin ended up bigger, plus he sewed it back on slightly crocked. I had a mole removed at the same time, but the hole wasn't properly sewn up, so the scar was much worse than the mole. How could someone do this to a 22 year old who so obviously had psychological problems? The cruelty of this man still astounds me today.
    I later found out that he was a proper plastic surgeon, but he was a soft tissue guy, who did breast surgeries, not someone who dealt with bones. I got this info from another surgeon I went to see 20 years later, who thankfully advised me not have anything done apart from improving some scars.

After he glued them on he thought they might be a little long but he did not want to adjust, basically grind off, length. He said I should give it time. Which I did. And they looked perfect. I looked and felt like a million bucks. I was as so happy! And my dentist told me the Korean man at the lab that made the veneers was retiring!!!! Can you imagine?! Hi Dr Gary, I’m considering going to Lithuania for a facelift . I was recommended this clinic called Nordesthetics in Kaunas Lithuania by my beautician who is from there. It’s half the price of where I live in Ireland. Can you take a look at their website and give me your professional opinion please ? I understand if you can’t.
    Their reps meet us at the airport and bring us to our apartments which are at the hospital. They ask us to stay at least 7 days after surgery to ensure all is well with the healing. Their facelifts seem very conservative and clinic seems very professional. TIA Jackie 🇮🇪

    I have the opposite of body dysmorphia/bad self image. Sort of… When I look in the mirror-I always think I look fine. I don’t think I look like a tall, thin, gorgeous goddess, but I always think I look okay. Even if I have gained weight, etc. I am in my 50s, and have had no surgery, fillers, or Botox. I WANT fillers and Botox-but can’t, financially. But when I look at PHOTOS….. I can see weight, wrinkles, etc. But it doesn’t rule me or make me feel bad or worthless. I have tried to instill this in my daughter as well.

    i feel i have some form of body dysmorphic disorder. i hate how i look i dont feel comfortable in clothes to the point i could take a meltdown because i feel fat in them i wont look in mirrors i buy clothes bigger than they should be and i often feel bigger than what i am and harm. other days i feel fine or sometimes i feel fine then thoughout the day i want to change clothes. i get upset at times when i see people that i feel are good looking even if they are the same size as me or bigger or smaller because i feel i don't look good enough. sometimes i dont feel like a woman like something inbetween. its diffrent things diffrent days diffrent triggers. and i know if i had surgery it wouwld be a quick fix like getting a hair cut or nails done or buying somehting, i'd feel good for a while then back to way i felt before. i have had councilling before many many times but its a tempory fix. i have had my medication doubled recenty and that has helped a little but there's still those days and evenings. maybe if i had the money and a diffrent mind set i would of got sugery but im glad i dont incause i made the wrong decision that felt right at that time

  • @ihatechriss
    @ihatechriss Před rokem

    I dont think its fair to single out Turkey. US surgeons are overpriced (Australian ones are even more so). And most people cant afford to have surgery in their home country. So what are our options other than to go overseas?. I had a tummy tuck and breast lift in Istanbul and it changed my life. The surgeon i chose was amazing. My body looks like the body of a supermodel even after 4 kids. It cost me around 8k compared to 30k here in Australia. 3 years later i had a septo- rhinoplasty there, cost me $3500 compared to $15k here, and my nose looks absolutely beautiful and natural. (Thats a $33,500 saving!) It took me a while to find a surgeon that didnt give the cookie cutter Barbie nose but eventually i found an amazing surgeon. So its not the country that matters its the surgeon you choose. Homework is key. Dont rush into anything. As the doc said, you cant undo alot of these surgeries. Research for at least a year. Ask a ton of questions and ask for post op photos months down the track. And read read read reviews!

  • @ampa4989
    @ampa4989 Před 2 lety

    Of course, you have to go to a board-certified plastic surgeon in every country, but I still wouldn't venture too far from the US/UK. Maybe Mexico, but that's it. I do, however, make an exception for Korea. I think I'd have no problem going there as long as I did research on the surgeon.
