Yep! People need to separate CGM from the natural hair movement. CGM wasn’t created for us. It was for curly hair white ladies who were killing their hair with Frizz Ease.
We never had scalp issues and build-up issues because we actually shampooed our hair every time we washed our hair. Then along came low-poo & no-poo co-washing which led to build up & scalp issues.
All hair needs is hydration from washing and conditioning, and a great styling product. It’s so simple.
And honestly it doesn't even work that good for white women. It leaves your hair heavy with no root volume and feels outright greasy after a day. Yuck!

Love this. Many people are so stuck on the curl pattern and tbh some don’t have defined curls. I use oils on my scalp and to seal in the moisture

i loved this video. you and i big chopped at the same time and my hair stretched bra length but it shrinks to my shoulders. i dont use oil either outside of what is in my hair products. i use sulfate shampoos and silicones and my hair is thriving. keep up hard work. love your work. =)

Do you have a cowash routine/how often should we be switching cowash/shampoo not to get build ups?? I've never cowashed before and I feel like my hair kinda needs some more moisture and I think cowash should be the best alternative but I don't really know where/how to start😅
I think that shampoo might not be the problem of lack of moisture in your hair as far as you’re not washing it too often than you are supposed to. You could look more into your deep conditioning and moisturizing routine or product and also focus on retaining the moisture you get into your hair.
I would stay away from cowashing.
