Arrow did add some vintage featurettes from Child's Play 2, an archival Jennifer Tilly introduction for Bride of Chucky, and most importantly the unrated cut of Seed in 4K. Those are not on the Scream Factory releases and they only had the unrated cut of Seed in 1080p (only the R-rated cut in 4K). So there is that.

I think there's something wrong with buying multiple versions of a film you dont like.If you love the film, why not buy anything an everything it has to offer.Chucky specifically, has so much merch to choose from.I jus got me a full size good guy for my room this Halloween season.Freakin love it all.Just dont understand collecting things you dont like.
I think it has to do with having the freedom to buy whatever you want. In America if you want to indulge in products and/or services you can. Does your country restrict what you can buy?

I'd like to know how I and some other people wound up with boxes with the top artwork offset from the bottom, whereas this one has it all perfectly lined up.
I may consider this. It looks better now that it did on site in my opinion. Not 100% sold on it.

I believe the arrow set has the Life With Chucky documentary, which is not in the scream factory set.

I do prefer the digipacks instead of full blu-ray plastic packs, just for the shelf space. As a collector, space is limited. But this still has a dignified size for the box. That's cool!
The sickness is real :) I like this, I don’t have any of the movies, this may be the set I pick up to remedy that slight.
Finally got around to open onening up my chucky boxset... Looks like I was one of the lucky ones (quality control wise)
I live in Sweden and purchase Arrow releases through a swedish retailerr snd I have never experienced the sort of packaging issues a lot of people are complaining about includinh the Bryce Lee and Chucky boxsets that arriced in perfect shape.
Is it normal for the booklet not to fit perfectly? It bent in a wave form when insterted. Already cosmetic damage on binder side

Preordered. This . I own the first on shout steel and the other 2 on reg 4k. I do not own the rest so to ordered this set and this cost me less than if I ordered the rest of the 4 4k on child's play. And the packaging cannot be beaten. Plan to sell the 2 and 3 that have slipcovers from shout

The 4K of Seed of Chucky from Scream Factory vs Arrow Video is different because Scream Factory only has the theatrical cut on 4K while Arrow has both the theatrical and extended cuts on 4K for some reason
I never buy scream factory stuff. Refuse to buy actual disc's and be forced by that company to own the actual media instead of just buying on a stream site like vudu. Sorry ill just download the torrents of these movies....along with all the halloween etc.

May I ask where you got yours from, Ken? I got one with the messed up artwork, so maybe something will come up in which a set was destroyed but the lid of the box with the correctly aligned artwork remained intact and is available from them to buy.

The lack of blu ray cases is the deal breaker for me as I only want Childs Play 2 and Bride of Chucky. The plan was to sell all the rest individually.
I got this boxset and i stll have the bluray versions hologram edition one. I compared both childs play version and the arrow one looks better, like almost 4k and less fuzzy.
There’s actually quite A few Differences between the Arrow version vs the Scream Factory ones! I wasn’t going to get this set until I seen the differences.

There is actually a documentary on the MGM Blu-ray for part 1 that was NOT carried over to the SHOUT! Set btw
P.S. Although it wasn't NEW, Bride of Chucky did have deleted scenes added to it that weren't on the original release.
@@MidnightsEdgeAfterDark in fairness, alot of this was produced when there was a Writer/Actor strike in Hollywood. Union rules forbade participating in promoting any studio releases.

I live in the UK and have bought First film from Scream Factory to get full set on 4K…. Very happy.
I believe Seed of Chucky in this set is the unrated version on 4K, which was only on Bluray from SF.
Is there a reason you didn't go with the 4k arrow exclusive blue one?
Yellow just works better with Chucky in my opinion
Some of the chucky movies are alright. I got the first 2 from scream factory. Would still have to get the rest from them eventually. Once I do, I'm good on that set and that one only. Even if it was for my all time favorite movies/series, if I already owned the 4k from a different studio I'm not budging. The package would have to be a transformer that gives me oral. Otherwise no matter how nice, it ain't taking money from my bank account. That is a cute little set though, I like the artwork.
I got the blue arrow exclusive I admit the yellow is more Chucky though it’s an amazing box set. And I like you have got the scream factory 4k versions. Also hardly any store in England have it well certainly in London at least.

I know this is irrelevant but if these sets go OOP, I bet you that blue set won't sell for as much as the yellow lol. Even when the blue was exclusive.
Although the scans are by Shout! Factory, the authoring and encoding is by Fidelity in Motion, which is said to be the best in the business. Most Arrow UHDs are encoded by Fidelity in Motion. Even if they use another studio's/label's scan, which I think is the master, Arrow usually has a different encoding by someone better than whatever company Shout! uses.
Just thought I'd let you know.
What's also interesting is that the arrow discs include the extras on the 4Ks. I wonder how that affects the overall encoding. My guess would be that they use 100GB discs while Shout! used 60GB discs, but I didn't check. The movies are relatively short so that could also be a factor.
@@bened22 What I have read is that if the company/person who is encoding the discs knows what they are doing they know how to put content on the feature disc without any bitrate being taken away from the feature. Apparently Fidelity in Motion is very good at encoding and compression, so they know how to make it work.
That isn't to suggest that they are infallible. Mistakes happen. But they are said to be the best in the business and if they thought that the quality of the movie would be ruined by bonus features they would put them on a different disc.

I have a collection of press kits from CP1 to Seed of Chucky. There are many unseen photos in it, never seen on any box set too. I should sent it to Universal for future Chucky's box set. I love this box set, looks really cool! Hope to see an EU version with Italian language soon.😉
Hi Ken great video man! I really love the Chucky movies especially the first 3 Child’s Play films my favorite one has always been Child’s Play 3. I enjoyed the other ones as well. I’ve already own all the Chucky movies from Shout Factory the only one I don’t have is The Living With Chucky Documentary. I might get this collection starting early in 2024. But for now seeing that there’s no difference between the Shout Factory version but again it looks amazing but what’s the difference between the Yellow and Blue cover they look the same?
Only minus first one is 1080p but still was must buy for childs play fan

I do the same mate. I buy the same horror movies multiple times through different releases. I have the blue Arrow Exclusive boxset, I have the Shout Factory first movie, I want to complete the Shout Factory collection and also get the yellow boxset. Plus I have them on dvd and I have them on blu ray as well.
There's a big print error on the box with this set. it seems to be a widespread problem in the UK. You're lucky you got a perfect version.
On every unboxing of this that i have see has had the arch artwork misaligned. I have just sent my back for that exact print error.
I have not recieved mine yet i have been tracking it for days it will probably be after Xmas delivery lol

That was actually a question ken, so if I am in the USA like you are what physical media players do I need in order to play all of the chucky movies on that UK Arrow Video Release? Do I need both a 4K Ultra HD player and a Region B player since Child’s play 1988 and Living With Chucky are Region B discs? I would appreciate the help man!!!
Yes you would need a 4K player plus a region free Blu-ray player

The fact that the 1st film could not be 4k in this set totally turned me off from it. Not to mention that there is no steelbooks to make up for it.
I want this set but £100 is pretty expensive and also no child’s play on 4K
The sequels are considered the best in some aspects apart from Seed (don’t tell Twitter) as it goes way too hard into comedy yet it’s still entertaining. Beyond that, the original is a staple of horror and it’s my fave. Glad to have imported it and its sequel.
This box is still nice to have.

Yep, even the younger gen who didn't even grow up with it knows who Chucky is. However the popular My Buddy doll that the movie took a jab at (pun intended) hardly anyone today reflects on.

OMG that’s a beautiful set. I do have the Scream Factory 4Ks, Extra Slipcovers and posters but I am a die hard Chucky fan so this is extremely tempting. Do I need it…. No but do I want this…. Yes. Plus I do have a Talking Chucky doll with the stitched up face from Spirit Halloween so this could go next to him. No I don’t need this 😂
FIM did the encoding for Arrow's set so that's another reason to get this over the Scheme Factory releases.
The real scheme are the Arrow "limited editions". Now the only way to get the theatrical cut of RoboCop in 4k is to pay 80 dollars for an OOP copy. The "standard edition" only comes with the DC. Arrow are scumbags

Nice1 Ken 👍Everyone has different criteria for what and why they collect and everyone has different tastes in artwork...personally I'm not a fan of the artwork on this and I'm not a Chucky fan (I only ever saw the first one, many years ago...) but if you dig it then that's all that matters !
I buy multiple editions of my all time fav movies. I have 3 editions of Requiem for a Dream. And 3 editions of every Xmen movie.

I think it’s a great set and the value is there! The posters look great and art work throughout is nice!! Mine should be arriving soon…I totally agree with the collecting aspect as you mention. I’d double dip if I had these already but given I don’t, feels even better that I held out.
Coincidence that Arrow sent you a perfectly aligned set top and bottom to show off when the rest of us get a sub standard factory output where its so misaligned its and insult. They wont even respond to customer inquiries about it after 3 days if waiting. I think after spending thousands over the years in Arrow its time for me to call it a day with them.
Also jealous that he gets some of his copies early at least. Like the short for warriors was posted and it was up for pre order still. Wasn't even released lol

@@StephenGrala the thing is, I mentioned something similar in a different video of his. I can't remember if it was arrow but I THINK it was. But whichever company he was like I don't even know these guys and I don't get special treatment as far as shipping goes. When I asked how he's always getting shit early. I personally don't know if I believe that because he's frequently getting things way earlier than I do lol. But I also don't really see any reason why anyone would be untruthful about it. So I don't think he's lying, but I also think that these companies are familiar with him and are getting their shit out to em sooner.
Cool set! Chucky is one of my least favorite slashers though and Child’s Play is one of many horror movies that did not need a sequel

I believe Arrow’s The Seed of Chucky has both cuts of the film in 4k UHD, Scream factory only has the theatrical in 4k UHD, the uncut is only blu ray.

I hate how the booklet is stuffed in the box. It doesn't fit at all. I'm a big Arrow fan. But this is a disappointing release. If you compare it with the Psycho of Hellraiser boxset, this feels very lackluster.

@midlevelmedia I'm not asking you how much money your spending. Buying two Box Sets of chucky seems excessive to me. I would never buy the Individual releases of the child play movies cause I know a Box Set will eventually be released.
Just remember that you can't take that collection with you when you die.

Wow, this set is FAR more appealing to me than the Sh*t Factory releases. I already own the collection in the studio release but would HAPPILY accept this as a gift or even if I had money to burn I'd definitely get it. I don't know, this is to me the best collection by far so far. Those posters are too awesome!!!

@@midlevelmedia ye the constant rereleases and crappy customer service, and items arriving damaged. That really does deserve praise, two of there biggest box sets this year have had major issues the Bruce Lee set and now the Chucky set.

Digital is 4K resolution, and that’s why dvd and blu-rays need to be discontinued taking up carbon space. Great box set
