Used to be a tour guide in Scotland, have had about 100+ Americans on them. Quite a lot of this is true in my expiernece, however with some variations:
- Whilst at first seeming over and fake, most genuinely were friendly and were very nice.
- Many were the first to get involved in the "fun" aspects, keen to volunteer be used as props for storytelling. I always appreciated that, even if it was *too* keen sometimes.
- They TIP WELL, and always showed gratitude
- They were noticeably "louder" than others, even in a conversation. This was a constant, I even had to make up a regular joke when passing a graveyard for americans to not wake up the dead.
- They liked to talk about the USA a lot, sometimes too much.
- They were keen to ask questions about the city, especially coming up after the tour.
- Interestingly, almost all of them were very much believers in the supernatural...
- The younger folk were often, well, very much more "forward" and "flirty" than most. I witnessed quite a few times some younger American tourists head off with people they met on the tour.
Overall:
I preferred them over many other tourists for sure! Just, indoor voices needs to be worked on 😂
Oh and clothing/fashion? Yea, this video hit that right on the nail! 😂
This has nothing to do with Americans but one time when I was going to a lake to go boating with my grandparents in Italy and group of asian tourists stood in our boat at the dock and took like a thousand pictures while my grandfather yelled at them to get out. He later told me that he doesn't believe that entire countries are reflected by their tourist but the tourists are individuals who only represent themselves. Even though I am an American citizen I think of myself as Italian due to the amount of time I spend in Italy, I still try to be respectful and follow the rules because not everybody is as accepting to other cultures as I am.

Not once except for kindergarden have I seen anybody wear socks and sandals in germany sooo
No it's mostly from indian culture
Its more of a "I sentence you to humiliation" stereotype
@@atlas2296 Sorry, my experience with this is only US, 146 coutries to this date :) Norwegian :)
@@matteo4282 Weist wie oft ich leute in Deutschland damit sehe ;D
How dare those Americans.. *flips through book* smile
Well it wasn’t a tourist but one time when I worked on a friends dairy farm a German family made a visit to try multiple items we had available. Only one out of the five spoke somewhat English but it was still hard to understand. I had to go get my boss as she and her family knew both English and German fluently so I just stood there like an idiot watching the two chatter in German and complete a regular business deal, but I didn’t understand a word that was said the whole time. 😂
“We don’t speak Englishâ€
The name of the stand is in English
Because the people who made the video don't speak other languages than english, didn't you listen to what they said in the video? ;D
@@JohnDoe-ky9yn That's a contradiction
In 3:42 the guy's saying that he doesn't know english, and he says that in italian
“American tourists are the worstâ€
Me: *stares at china*
Young tourists and old tourists from China are two different races. :)
@Koal Kottentail Younger Chinese tourists are different. They don't fit into the stereotype. Like in this video a lot of those stereotypes for Americans are of boomers not millennials
They kinda odd here in Milwaukee. I don't mind but they stay in large groups they also stop to stare at african Americans and take pictures afar which is a bit unnerving but I mostly just write it off as a first encounter experience
Yifei Ren I’ve witnessed young Chinese tourists in Hokkaido crossing over the No Entry sign of the lavender fields to take pictures 😑. How are they different?
i will never forget those videos of chinese tourists absolutely vacuuming up a table of food
3:58 Did you really replaced the german flag with a turned belgian flag? I mean, in the corner, it's the right one!
They came when it got invaded
lol these styles scream 90s in my head!
There are a ton of American tourists in Mexico, and even people that live here. They are very nice and polite.

Let me correct the title: Worst Stereotypes About American Boomers When They Travel.
So true
Ok boomer
Not exactly some of these are specifically targeted at millennials and younger too
Or boomers period
this pathetic boomer meme is old already.
That is actually the best thumbnail ever 😂
I was once in Edinburgh and some yank comes up to me and asks me straight faced what time do the 1pm cannons go of at ?
XD
hahhahaaaaha
What do you do for a living? I mind my own business Bihhhhh!!😂😂😂😂😂😂 Freaking loved that part!😂
I'll put it here. When I traveled in Europe, many people were genuinely relieved when we told them we were not American.
Also if you're traveling internationally from the US, the best place to start is Australia. Yes, their accent can be difficult to decipher from an American POV but they are the most culturally similar imo. More than the UK or CAD. Plus the AUS dollar is weaker than the US dollar meaning you are spending less than the sticker price (though everything is ore expensive in return.)
All the points you mentioned about American tourists are spot on 🤣, especially when I travelled to several European and Asian countries before the pandemic.
But the points you made in the video also applies to Australian, Canadian, British, German and Chinese tourists as well from my personal experience (Bad fashion sense and are rude and obnoxious etc.)
You guys had me laughing at the American wardrobe and how we smile so much! 😂
I was making small talk with a client from the US, and he seemed surprised that in South America we have the opposite season to them
bruh
Take this. Once an American woman told me “how come Egyptians are not black, aren’t y’all from Africa?â€
Lol one time this British dude came to my house and was surprised that we didnt have cheeseburgers or mcdonalds
@@lauracordova2085 You don't!?
@@juleeO6183 yeah turns out the British aint that nice
This reminds me of my trip when I was in the American War Museum in Vietnam, a really incredible place which shows the history of the American Vietnam War. There's victims of Agent Orange on the top floor followed by Swaths of farmlands and settlements being obliterated to craters, which was so upsetting to see. And there was this American tourist going around the museum with a studded T-shirt with an American flag and loads of guns on it and right in the middle with big bold writing, *â€FREEDOM!, THE AMERICAN WAY!.â€*
Source dude trust me
