@@marim5620 I mean I doubt that they would actually mention he has 7 baby mommas. Triton and his wife probably adopted some of them. But I’m sure it will all make sense when the movie comes out. It is 2 hours long after all and they are taking many things from the original tale I heard. Which is very much darker.
“And you are… NOT the father!”
Perla be looking like that one fish in Shark Tale
Tamika’s design is very heavily based off the Mandarinfish, definitely my fav design of the sisters
Yes! Came here to say this. They’re all based on tropical fish native to their respective sea/ocean
I just looked them up, Mandarinfish are gorgeous!
Glad someone said it, that fish is one of my favorites that's why Tamika is my favorite sister design.
I love her design.
that’s what i was thinking! i did a design project in school where we made fabrics based off of fish and i immediately recognized the pattern!
i feel like they all look stunning individually but a bit overwhelming together..i feel like they should have each had their own color like the original sisters and had individual designs in that color based on their character
@ava You're totally right. They all seem like friends on their own adventures rather than siblings... It would be more common to have them all be monochromatic with an assigned color like in the original. Seems like Disney doesn't like simple side-characters anymore
At this point it’s just a little mermaid inspired movie ✨
Biologically, this doesn’t make sense unless Ariel‘s dad has multiple baby mamas or Ariel‘s mom has multiple baby daddies 😂
Mermaid biology is different from human biology sis 😀
How many woman has Triton been with for this many races…
(Thanks for the likes! WHAT🎉😂)
His name must be KHAN!😅
I mean, Triton is a greek god (or at least a son of one). And besides that, fish aren't known for fidelity or longlasting marriages (unless they're seahorses)
@@kimberlyterasaki4843 he is both, the son of Poseidon and Amphitrite and the god of calm seas and waves. However, in the mythology, he only had three daughters, the most well-known being Pallas, a childhood friend of Athena, whom she accidentally killed in mock combat.
lmao fr. White man has a dark skinned daughter, a mix daughter, a full indian daughter, an asian daughter, and like 2 white daughters
i mean even the original girls have a bunch of different hair colors while ariels mom was a redhead so...
Wait so they have different mothers??? 😭😭💔Triton was only loyal to his wife in the animation so this is very heartbreaking to make him have a harem of different races of wives just for the sake of 'inclusiveness'.
Who said it was for the sake of inclusiveness?
@@LK-em2lyfor what then?
@@JessUh08 creativity? Who wants to watch the “exact” same move twice but just in live action this time? They already said it’s not meant to be a replacement or carbon copy but a different take on areal. Why is it that when something isn’t dominated by white people it’s labeled as inclusive or woke?
@@LK-em2lythis is no where near creativity,it's more for getting validation from every community
@@LK-em2ly its pretty obvious this movie’s cast was for the sake of representation. Except the villain side, that was kept white for obvious reasons too
Tamika is drop dead gorgeous
Bro King triton traveled the world and the seven seas 😭
Tamika ate fr. Her design is so elegant and dare I say, main character vibes? She looks so ethereal
agreed
Yes, her design is my most favorite of them all, too. Besides that the actress is just drop dead gorgeous and gives off very elegant and feminine vibes, the entire color palette with the gold and royal blue on her dark skin is just, chef's kiss to the designer(s).
I'm a little sad they didn't go for all As, is not an important detail but is one that I like. Also I wonder if they still represent the 7 seas
They will represent the 7 seas. They recently published a book about it
Tritan really got all the fish in the sea 💀
I think Caspia is beautiful. Love her look, calming and yet enchanting
Just like the singing siren look, calming yet hard to pull away from, exactly what i was thinking.
+1
I’m gonna miss all the A names, that was a fun detail like Ariel felt like she needed to find an identity away from her family so she wouldn’t be just another royal or something. Plus what they gonna do about the opening song?
I just read they nixed the Daughters of Triton song
literally one of my favorite songs wtf
SAME! That song was my top favorite from the movie :(
looks like triton had a damn lot of adventure in college
love indiras look, fierce af
The dad was playing around. Got all the race as his kids 💀
Tamika was the first one that caught my eye and I love her design a lot. Same goes for Mala. The hairstyles and colors just pop so much and I'm kind of bummed that Ariel's design isn't as interesting as the others.
the asian one has a belly dancing costume.... and the darkest one HAS to have a frizzy afro.... despite being in the deep ocean with no air
@@seabreeze4559 are you really that ignorant? search up 4c hair underwater, it literally looks like that. Also why are you so pressed about the accuracy of hair physics for a movie about mermaids that are magical and are not real. if you care so much about hair physics, why didn’t you point out how the blue mermaid’s ponytail stays perfectly upright in the water when realistically is shouldn’t. simple reason, they are magical mermaids and aren’t real so hyper-realistic physics don’t matter
@@seabreeze4559idk what point you're trying to make. They're all in "belly dancing costumes" and last I checked people need air to breathe so you should be complaining about how these fantasy mermaids are here in the first place rather than the mere fact one of them has frizzy hair.
@@seabreeze4559 but talking crabs and fish makes sense?
@@seabreeze4559 but if the hair was straight it'd be white washing. cannot win with people like u
The actress who plays Tamika is GORGEOUS omg😭
The fish the third sisters outfit took its colour inspiration from is most likely a mandarin dragonet, very cute little fish.
legit that was the only one I knew because I researched like really colorful fish once lmao and that was the one that I remembered
Triton must have been busy when he visited the seven seas
I do think that the last one with pastel hair has the coolest look , like the upper part of her costume is actually fused with her body she actually looks like a mermaid and not someone wearing a costume.
Isn't Ariel supposed to be the main character???😅
Yeah, she looks a lot like Ariel. I wonder if the actress is secretly crying cuz she is so close yet but so far away from this dream role lol
Agree
Arials dad got around didn't he 😂 he knows to sow his seeds in different mermaids 😂
When I heard bridgerton immediately started fan Girling, because I am obsessed with bridgerton!!
Damn, the king got around didnt he
Indira & Tamika’s color scheme and patterns are perfection, and compliment their coloring perfectly!!
so Triton had more than one wife as it seems, because different ethnicity means different set of genetics - when inclusivity backfires
does he have a harem now and Ariel was from his new favorite?
Why tf Disney needs the damn need to represent every culture in freaking sisters. They ARE sisters .
Ok? Sisters have the same parent(s). Who said they have the same mother? Mythological gods aren’t that faithful.
Damn King Trition really got around.
Tamika’s design is so gorgeous
Karina, Indira and Tamika are my favourite designs. Also I like that Ariel sticks out from her sisters to visualize that she is different from them, but I wish her scale top was blended better. BTW all the sisters are stunning to me
The actress that plays Tamika was on the show “The face” a modeling show by naomi cambell
This is a whole different movie at this point
Triton got around.
Tamika’s my fav, her skin’s glowing under the sea
They look so beautiful
I’m gonna say it.
King Triton has a lot of explaining to do.
Tamika. Gorgeous design
Indira and Tamika are my favorite designs the colors they chose for those are so vibrant
I think Tamikas characterdesign got inspired by the green mandarin goby, the pattern of the fish is pretty similar to her design 😊
Ariel's sisters look like the United Colors of Benetton publicity ad. Her dad had a lot of baby mamas
Tamika’s colors are absolutely stunning.
Your themed necklace is a very nice detail :)
Tamika looks THE best. She looks like a queen.
It's funny how different and creative they made her sisters and then ariel is just basic green and purple.
Fish that they probably took inspiration from:
Karina: Juvenile Emperor Angelfish
Indira: Raccoon Butterflyfish
Tamika: Mandarin Dragonet
Mala: Royal Gramma
Perla: Red Gurnard but they recolor the wing fins with blue and white polkadot
Caspia: unknown probably Japanese Angelfish
Ariel: those school of wrasse in the under the sea intro
Why couldn’t they just make every sister black like Ariel? You already changed ariel at least make it logical. Guess Triton wanted to try every color.
She looks like a mandarin fish (I hope it’s the right name) it’s a tropical fish that has exactly the color of the third sisters tail
I actually love them all even the last one... she has the colors of the orisha Inle. 🥰
Damn King Tritan likes variety.
Tamika’s colour palette is my favourite one for sure, I like her design too!
Funny thing is, everyone in my theater was in AWE when Caspia appeared and then tt got quiet for the rest of the movie.
OKG I LOCE THIS THEY LOOK SO SLAYYYY😊
Andira and Tamika for sure got the best color schemes.
Why are they all different races if they’re sisters
@Astranova i really do hope so, biggest fear if they all turned out to be adopted, wouldn’t make them true royals
@Astranova where did you hear all this stuff?
@@GiulianaCasthis comment is just so 🤦🏽♀️ “They have to look alike!!!” Why? “Because other movies have characters who look alike!! It’s the rule!!” Grow up if the mermaids in this story have kids that look different accept it
@@danielmonte6782me when I apply the laws of some kingdoms (there have been adopted rulers) to a fantasy movie and label it my biggest fear
@@GiulianaCasit’s crazy how you’re trying to put a rule on ~fantasy~
Also why are you so concerned about “justifying” other races involvement in movies… I trust you seeing a south Asian mermaid isn’t what’s taking you out of the fantasy it’s your stubbornness and bigotry. There’s literally no rule against having a mythical creature having different genetics different from humans except for the mental barrier you put in your mind.
Like bro is actual discussing a Disney mermaid lineage like one of these girls is gonna rule the world. Also the story of the little mermaid book and movie take place in an unnamed imaginary Mediterranean kingdom… sorry that your idea of what royalty can look like only includes white people despite the area being Asian and African as well and that you need justification for poc actors to even touch your screen for more then a second. Get well soon
ARIEL’S MY FAVORITEEEE
King Triton was spreading it wide 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Ariel doesn’t look basic, when she’s in motion her tail is completely iridescent and changes to like 6 different colors, and the bottom of the tail totally stands out from the rest of her sisters, it’s stunning. I love how they all resemble tropical fish from a coral reef! And to those who think the sisters look bad, and wanted basic tails with seashell bras, y’all have no imagination or creativity, live action mermaids have never been done like this before, they look amazing in my opinion.
Nah. They're overdesigned.
@@vetarlittorf1807 like I said, no creativity
@@mandoz353 That's the perfect way to describe this movie. No creativity.
@@vetarlittorf1807 so simplistic designs that’ve already been before would’ve been creative? Fill me in.
@@mandoz353 Who said anything about using the same designs or that they have to be simplistic? I'm simply saying that the mermaids in this movie are overdesigned. Well-designed mermaids would be the mermaids from Harry Potter or the ones from Pirates of the Caribbean. Whoever designed the mermaids for this movie feels like that time when Homer Simpson designed a car.
I think Tamika’s colors are inspired by mandarin fish.
Tamika looks absolutely gorgeous!❤
Tamika is a Mandarin Dragonet / Mandarin fish honestly alot of dragonets have a very beautiful pattern
So i'm going to assume King Triton has a harem in the live action remake 😊
You assumed wrong :)
Im sad they changed the names, I thought it was cool they all started with A :(
I’m so excited that kids get all the mermaid sisters. I remember trying to figure out if I had enough Barbie’s to get the job done.
Tamika’s tail and top reminds me of the colours of a beta fish all put into 1. Tamika stands out for me though and is my favorite!
Finally, matching color palettes!!
They literally don't😅 you can like the designs I think they're pretty unique but the color palette does not match at all
Rainbowfish that we read about as a kid who gives his rainbow scales away lol
I love everything about Tamika
Tamika is giving and I’m here for it!! she looks so gorgeous
