    Hello Raj, you mentioned something about gas charged suspensions. Can you advise any specific ones that will fit and work for Honda hness? I'm not satisfied with the OE ones even after 25k kms and multiple long rides. I have tried playing with the settings but nothing feels plush. I'm looking for an upgrade. Thanks for such videos they're very helpful and we your subscribers do appreciate the effort and knowledge you share with us. Nothing fancy and to the point.

      Hi Prasad, yes the CB rear shock absorber is a bit uneasy and unpredictable, but some how I have got used to it. I generally keep the setting on No.4 (stiff) which does not give a lot of rebound action and gives confidence in cornering. Regarding any alternative, there is someone who sourced Ohlins cushions for the CB, but not sure of the source. Also the price is around 16K.

      Sure buddy.. I will still strongly recommend go for Motul 7100 10W40..At 699/ on Amazon it's great value for money. I guess Shell Advance is at around the same price. Offline rates may not be competitive.
      The reason for recommending Motul 7100 is for the base oil. It's Ester Based fully synthetic which delivers consistent smoothness even after running 4k kms + due to higher solvency of additives in the oil compared to regular synthetics.

      Also if you can get your hands on Idemitsu IRG7 through some research, it is the best value money oil i have used recently. It's the top of the line product from Idemitsu and costs 450/- ltr for the 10W30 grade.

  • @arv1ndgr
    @arv1ndgr Před rokem +1

    Thanks as always! I'm curious to read through that detailed comment but not sure on which video comments section I can find it.. Another subtle point since we're talking about 10w40 engine oil. My Engine has got extra Sliky smooth gear shifts now but engine runs little extra hot than previous Throttle FS 10w30. Assuming ambient temperature 30-35°c Sadly I don't have ODB scanner to know the engine temperature. Is that normal or could that be related to valve clearance issue which Dipayan Bose Bhai after he switched to Motul 300v 10w40 was also facing.. though I'm not able to make out any issue related to the engine noise

    • @RajkaGarage
      @RajkaGarage  Před rokem +1

      You got it right buddy. The timing of the new oil and summer has coincided. With the current ambient temperatures which is 40 degree C in my place. On the other side this is the best oil to take care of such temperatures. Talking about valve clearance, our bikes have conventional rocker tappets and oil does not have any direct impact on the clearance like a V-Tech or hydraulic lifter system used in some advanced engines.
      I did 1050Kms in one stretch in 20 hours total time and 18 hrs of ride time(google projected time was 19h:22m) with this oil with some grueling highway traffic conditions where the speed was varying from 90kmph to 20kmph due to heavy truck traffic for almost 500+ kms throughout GJ and MH. What this means, is the engine was going through a lot of sprinting through gears which means it was rigor test of the oil's shear stability and it did hold on to the high performance right till the bike came to rest at the end of the ride. Total I have done so far 3500kms on this oil and highly impressed with performance at the price tag it comes and inarguably something I am going to stick to for long.

    Hi Raj, After a lot of research you recommend 10w40 instead of 10w30 fully synthetic engine oil. In your recent video ,I saw that you are going to use 10w40 Idemitsu and in future 10w30 Idemitsu also and you have already arranged the same, now the question is ,why do you again want to check performance of 10w30 grade ?
    Secondly do you think that somewhere Honda engineers have recommended 10w30 is correct ?😊

    • @RajkaGarage
      @RajkaGarage  Před rokem

      Hi Sanjay, the CB engine being a 350cc forced air cooled, runs much hotter in our kind of ambient temperature. To take care of this, the ideal hot viscosity should have been 40 to maintain the shear stability at those thermal loads. While I say that it doesn't make the recommended 30 hot viscosity unsuitable for the engine. It is still suitable as recommended by the manufacturer, but 40 holds things together much better under high load for this kind of engine. Technically 1 step up from the recommended on the hot viscosity is always within the engines build threshold. Generally I change the oil on my cars and bikes before summer or of there is ride expected in hot conditions(like i did before the RJ ride inspite of the Liqui Moly Street Race Fully Synthetic run only less than 2.5k kms) and hence I prefer going with 40 hot viscosity. However if any choice is available in some superior product within the recommended grade and if the bike is not going to be on the Works, then I will prefer going with such grade and hence the 10W30 from Idemitsu IRG7. Had Motul 300V available in 5W30, I would have gone with that.

    I crossed 10k on by Hness...Around 14-15k, i am expecting a chain replacement.....can you do a chain review....some says sprocket with more teeth (roll on brass sprockets available on Zana) will have good effect on the gear patters and handling....WIll it affect the HSTC control on the bike?....ay issues with the ABS sensor settings by this?
    ALso i need a replacment for my stock engine oil...i am considering Motul 300V ( But its 10-40, HMSI is accepting 5-30 or 10-30)...Some says this oil heats very quickly...Please reply....

    • @RajkaGarage
      @RajkaGarage  Před rokem +2

      For now go for Honda OE chain kit which is easy on the pocket too at 1700 + labour. For most people the chain life for this bike will be around 15-17k kms as is the case with other high capacity engine bikes with O ring chain kits.
      Questions on any modified sprocket having impact on HSTC or ABS, answer is No as long as you can find a compatible sprocket, which currently is the CB500x which comes at a price of 5k only for the rear one. Rollon chain kit is of the same specifications that of OE Honda.
      Regarding Motul 300V, it the best engine oil i have ever used, but check warranty at your local dealer. Technically using 10W40 will have no negative impact on the engine, but on paper service center will challenge it as they have to sell thier product too 😅.
      Regarding heating issues, i have already made a video on this topics with data showing there is no such issues with the oil.
