Very cool 555 tester idea. I would have put the capacitor on its side so you can install the chip more easily. Also maybe a momentary switch in series with the 5V rail?
I don’t mind the music genre per se but the volume is way too loud, I could barely hear your voice. Btw the 555 tester was good. I didn’t like the “magnetic activated pendrive” so much because it just seems an unstable connection, just imagine the magnet disconnects during a big file transfer. That wouldn’t be fun. Other than the fact that it can damage data on older HDDs that may be inside of the computer.
People are WAY too paranoid about magnets near computers. That little craft store magnet barely has any strength. Remember that every spinning hard drive already has high power neodymium magnets inside it for positioning the heads. They don't interfere with the data on the drives, and they are inside the same case as the spinning discs, sometimes less than an inch away from the data. While it definitely IS possible for magnets to destroy data on magnetic storage, it's actually a lot harder than most people think. I have taken 5.25" floppy discs and rubbed them all over an 80 ounce subwoofer magnet, then left it on the magnet over night, and the next day every single bit of data on it was still perfectly readable with no errors. I'm not saying that would be the result EVERY time, and I'm not suggesting anyone try it, especially if your data is important, but there's no need to be afraid of a tiny magnet like that one near your USB port. It's not going to damage anything at all.
A great idea with the 555 timer chip tester, and the idea of testing the integrity of the USB port, or on this basis, it can be possible to determine the integrity of the operation of the motherboard of a computer or laptop
Neat ideas. I'd modify the 555 timer to put the IC Socket on the other side (with needed wiring changes), so you're not fighting the cap or the Speaker when installing/removing
Projects are good. IMHO, in the 555 project, I would include some current limit such as a 100 Ohm 0.5W resistor in series with the +5V rail. If you are testing 555's at random you could be introducing a completely shorted device and that could blow your battery pack or even your computer USB port will complaint. Also, is a bad practice to make a "hot" IC insertion in the test socket when you are testing probably failed IC's. You should insert and extract the IC with no power applied.
I might take this and modify it with multiple "channels" where each "channel" is a different size seat to test multiple size chips. Good video, thank you.
Continuous buzz only means the 555 isn't working under certain circumstances. It's not a 100% perfect test when using those types of IC sockets either.
I liked the improvement of the flash drive, but such protection is not serious, watching this video, everyone will be able to test the Flashka with a magnet and there will be no secret. The timer 555 check device is nice, but there are many other microchips that you can’t check on this device ... Does it make sense to do it?
, does the company that makes the p c boards in this video or the advertising do they have a catalogue for replacement icsi like to order some stuff and some stuff
instead of the reed switch, just encrypt the data. And don't worry about someone formatting the thumb drive since if they have it, they can just toss it anyway so the data is lost regardless.
more of a tip situation, super small with an angled or inset edge, get solder on it and touch, its like pick and place. I figured that out working on super small electronics with tons of components

This should keep the average idiot out. It won't keep out anyone determined to get in, though. Personally, if a drive didn't work, the first thing I'd do is open it up and see what I can do to recover it.
You are wrong. YES it depends on the chip being OK. In this case you should use an active buzzer, meaning one tha has a built in oscillator that beeps arround 2700 Hz. If the chip is OK, then THE CHIP will output a square wave arround 2 or 3 Hz. So, you will hear a 2700 Hz signal on and off at a 2 Hz rate. If the chip is bad, depending on the failure, you may hear a continuous tone, or not tone at all.

No, you can not. Do one of the test circuits from the 4558's datasheet.

Impressive but i think I'll just get the handtek handheld multimeter+oscilloscope to test anything.

Wouldn't it be better to lay that cap down out of the way between the 8 pin socket and the buzzer?

Yes, but the tool I built is only suitable for the 555 test
