Actually cooking eggs in hot springs is a common practice in Japan! This dish is called Onsen Tamago which literally translates to "hot spring egg" this method of cooking eggs created a silky white texture and custard-like yolks. To fully cook the eggs to that texture takes longer than one would expect since the hot springs keep them at a consistent temperature this usually takes between 40 or more minutes.
It's like a sous vide machine. It takes a while to actually cook anything. But imagine how tender that egg would be, mmmmmm.
