Quite a few but I will be the one to say that it is not that the MCU/MCM can't handle their dark subject matter or feel they are too dark for the franchise.....BUT if we are being fair.....this could be the winning formula to change fortunes back to winning!
Think about it, Hit-Monkey being hired for a job that crosses paths with a Deadpool and Wolverine, hell they got away with bringing in Jewel(Jessica Jones) and the Punisher in the multiverse!

The current MCU doesn't have the balls to handle darker characters like the Punisher, Daredevil, and Ghost Rider

The only way we will find out is with Echo. Its their first R rated show and looks kinda decent.
Plus they announced they are completely reshooting the new daredevil.

The Defenders Saga was pitch black and it was done well (except Iron Fist 😭, God I don't like hating on the series but....) and it's Multiverse Canon. I was very surprised that Jessica Jones was faithfully adapted with a few tweaks and changes
Point of order: The Sentry does not have schizophrenia because schizophrenia does not included multiple personalities. He most likely has Dissociative Identity Disorder but TV and movies have diluted everything down to schizophrenia because I guess it sounds “sexier” or something.
Despite that he’s been deemed “too dark” for the MCU, they are planning a Punisher series with Jon Bertha returning as Frank Castle
I doubt that Magik won’t be excluded she needs to be included
Facts. I really wish we could redo the entire marvel series/characters. So much is missing that needs to be included.
These Superheroes who are Too Dark for The MCU should definitely joined the Dark World of Brynhildr in the Darkness(2014). The main characters have fought many villains who already killed people especially The heroes. So these Superheroes will definitely become an allies to the heroes.

Punisher and Sentry will be in the MCU in 2025. Also, with ECHO being mature and under the Marvel Spotlight banner, all these characters could show up. Deadpool, Blade, The Hood, and Werewolf by Night are all proof that any character could show up. Also, Magik is one of the most popular X-men shes showing up.

It's amazing how the punisher overruled this list as the number 1 dark hero. I mean, he has no powers, just brains, brawn and weapons to do the nasty job, but I got to say, didn't know about most of these dark heroes.
I love how everyone calls only the Movies the MCU, even though the tv shows are connected. They literally had Ghost Rider take up an entire season in Agents of Shield.

They could do something with The Punisher similar to whatever they are doing to Echo. That does look a little darker than some of the usual MCU we are use to.

The Netflix shows are part of the MCU and the new daredevil series jumps off from that universe and the fact that KingPing and Daredevil are reprising their roles shows that it is part of the universe therefore it stands to reason that The Punisher is part of the MCU in some form

Funny thing about Sentry being seen as to dark for the MCU it was reported that famed Asian-American actor Steven Yeun most known for play Glenn in the live-action TV adaption of The Walking Dead and being the VA of lead protagonist Marcus "Mark" Greyson/Invincible in the animated Streaming Series adaption of Invincible will be playing Robert Reynolds/Sentry in the upcoming Thunderbolts movie whether or not Steven will play both Robert as Sentry and his dark alternate personality The Void isn't known.
Spoilers Sentry is coming in Thunderbolts played by Steven Yeun! Moon Knight is very dark who appeared in his MCU series and there's gonna be a Blade MCU Movie

Disagree with you on Legion and Hit Monkey. Legion won't make it into the MCU because there's no way they could squeeze him into a two hour movie (at least, not in a _good_ way) The series was great because they had the time to develop this complicated character.
Hit Monkey, however, would be great as a scene-stealing surprise antagonist. Like Goose, Alligator Loki, and others I can't remember right now, he could just show up with no backstory, no exposition (except maybe a fun montage narrated by Luis), just sudden unexpected violence.

When was or is Hit-Monkey listed as a "hero"? And technically he is already in....Feige did say all non MCU projects are MCU Multiversal Canon so this counts which means Hellstrom is canon but by a hair
The Netflix Marvel shows aren't difficult to put in the MCU timeline. it takes place after the first Avengers movie when they destroyed New York. They say it in Daredevil I believe. And all the shows take place at/around the same time as each other. I don't know I just remember them saying the reason crime is rising and Kingpin is more active is because of all the new real estate opening up and him taking advantage of his "construction" business because there avengers destroyed everything. I could be wrong but I remember that in one of the shows.
