    Post- Construction cleaning is no joke. I have done plenty of Post-Construction jobs on the residential and commercial side. A good tool to have is a LED flash light. It will save your business for sure. Your flashlight will show all your imperfections.

    I'm so blessed. I'm a journeyman painter so I was already so used to being in the second to last phase of construction. While on the painting crew I would always get in trouble for cleaning 🤣 they would say "the cleaning lady's will do that". But I honestly had an ethical objection to painting around windows with drywall mud and texture blasted all over it...why would I paint next to something so filthy? Why would that be on the brand new windows in the first place? Each trade keeps passing the buck until the last man. Painting should be the last step in my opinion. Cleaning before painting. Or how about both! 😊

    Wow! Just came upon this episode after I just got done with a 7 hour PC job. Floors are the worst on PC jobs. I’ve learned to use Mineral spirits (after sweeping / vacuuming ) to remove the dust, particles. You must clean EVERY inch of PC jobs. Screens washed thoroughly also. Thanks, Angela!!!! One thing we use in the movie industry a lot is Kleensweep. It’s an oil based sweeping compound that is good on smooth concrete for keeping dust down as you sweep. It’s also easy to keep track of your progress as you move along. You could also get an industrial shop vac too. Those things are bomb proof.

    • @AskAngelaBrown
      @AskAngelaBrown  Před 2 lety +2

      LOL. 12 moppings. We just did a post construction job that had lots of dust. We changed the air filters, dusted everything and when the air kicked on bam! Another coat of dust covered the place. We are about 10 moppings in so far and the find layer keeps resettling. Each time a little less than the time before - but with post construction, the dust is in the vents, the fabrics, the carpets, the drapes, on the walls and ceilings...it just takes time and patience.

    Angela, a question, though not related to this video: We are getting ready to put our (older) home on the market. It’s empty and I need it cleaned and maintained until the house sells (honestly, I’ve been cleaning-as-I-go, along with painters and repairs, so it’s not THAT dirty). When looking for a house cleaning service, how many should you interview before making a decision? Do I need to be as picky about who I hire for this job as I would be if it was for my occupied home?

    How to figure how many people you’ll needed to post construction like self storage facility from the beginning till finish

    • @AskAngelaBrown
      @AskAngelaBrown  Před 7 měsíci

      Make an estimate of the size of the project, how long it's expected to take, and what tasks are involved. You can check industry guidelines or use construction management tools to get a good estimate of the number of people you'll need from the beginning to the end of the project.
