  • Saint Augustine: A Voice For All Generations | Full Movie | Mike Aquilina
Explore the conversion story of one of the most significant figures in church history and learn about his struggle to find answers amid a sea of competing voices. Travel with host Mike Aquilina to fourth-century Rome and Milan to discover why St. Augustine has become a “Voice for All Generations.”
St. Augustine of Hippo (354-430) is a preeminent Doctor of the Church and the patron of the Augustinian order. His works, including The City of God, On the Trinity, and The Confessions, have had an inestimable impact on the Church and, by extension, on Western Civilization at large. Yet, where did such faith begin? After rejecting his mother’s Christianity as simplistic and restraining, Augustine embarked on a path towards self-gratification, marked by the pursuit of money, political power, and sexual pleasure. This documentary, hosted by EWTN’s Mike Aquilina and shot on location in Rome and Milan, explores the conversion story of one of the most significant figures in church history. Travel back to the fourth century and discover how Augustine became a “Voice for All Generations.”

I prayed and prayed to St. Monica for my daughter to return to the Church. On Mother’s Day of 2020 she agreed to pray the Rosary at St. Mary Church. It was locked and chained closed so we sat on the steps and prayed. A couple weeks later she called and said “this is your fault”. Then she told me all her 3 children had come to her separately to ask if they could be Baptized. They were 19, 20 and 21. She also had thought she would return. So the following Easter the children were received into the Church, my daughter confirmed and her marriage blest in the Church. My daughter, who knew nothing about my praying to St. Monica, announced she was taking Monica as her Confirmation name. I was blown away, but thankful to St. Monica.

The teaching of Augustin is actually a rejection of the doctrines that are now signifying Catholicism . Augustin clearly stated that Faith alone (not works and rituals) in Jesus Christ alone as sole mediator between God and man( not His mother who shares in our own sinful nature and is not and never will be part of and necesarry for our salvation) and the Authority of the Word alone ( not the writings and revelations of men as an add on ...such as the Catholics revere more than God's Word )
Augustin feared God and would certainly reject the utterances of the Popes, who usurp the authority of Jesus Christ, who is the Head of the Church and who replaces God the Father by being called "Father". That is why we pray...our Father who is in Heaven!!
