Nah, bro. Melo has the complete offensive package, he can score in the post, he can take anyone off the dribble, he has a great pull up, he is deadly from long range, he does it all. That is not Hardaway's game, he shoots spot up 3s and comes off screens, his game is more similar to Ray Allen.

I do agree that Hardaway will improve hi game in time, but I don't think he will ever be as good offensively as Melo, that is not his game. Like I said he plays more like Ray Allen or Reggie Miller. Yea he can learn from Melo but he doesn't have the size and skill to do what Melo does. Melo is 6'8, strong as a bull, can bully in the post, and takes it strong to the hole. Hardaway has a completely different body type that is more similar to Ray Allen, Chris Copeland is a player who I think if the knicks kept could of had his skills " rub off him". But Hardaway Jr is a different kind of player.

Everyone is saying hardaway won the duel just cause he hit the further shot... Shows what people know. It was a nice shot but waiters definitely won the duel. waiters had more points, assists, shot a better percentage, and won the game. Plus hardaway lost the ball twice.. One time he recovered it and the other time it ended up as a 3 in his face from waiters. People don't know basketball.
Hardaway actually had 36 to Dion's 31 points. You don't know the true stats.

Look at the footwork from both Dion Waiters and Tim Hardaway jr. . Notice how well Hardaway utilities his excellent footwork to set up and stay on balance after his dribbles.See how he stops on the dime, those seconds count. Even with Dion pass steal attempt, Hardaway was able to spin and readjust Quickly and smoothly for his shot. He used his footwork to get back on balance. As for Dion, witness his ability to jab at his defender when he dribbles. Throwing his defenders on his heels Before he begins to take the shot. Watch how he do a hesitate/hang dribble to have the defender think he is going to drive. This Duel is the perfect visual on how to stay balance or quickly realign (balance) for your shot. Also it shows how and when to use hesitations and hang dribbles.

one thing is for sure. the shooting guard position certainly has some potential now. i mean im not gonna lie and say jr smith is a bad player but when hes one of the top 5 shooting guards in the league theres not a lot of depth. but with guys like Beal, Oladipo, THJ, Harden, Wiggins, and waiters showing promise early that position could have some crazy depth in the future
