The story behind this from all the judge's perspective: They all agreed to give AG a 48 to match DJ Jr's 48 so the dunk contest could keep going. One person didn't stick to his word and gave a 9 instead of a 10. The guy whose clearly a Miami Heat legend for life, Dwanye "snake ass" Wade. Dude really ruined the dunk contest forever, now none of the best dunkers want to waste their time putting up the best dunks just to lose. I'm no longer a fan of his anymore after he did this, this was some bullsh*t.

It's not just on wade though. Judges shouldn't be collaborating to give the same scores. That's the whole point of having multiple judges so there's no favorites winning off one judge. But yea they were suppose to tie the score and be co-champions caise it was only a 2 dunk playoff after the year AG and Lavoie had like 6 or 7 in a row.

Lavines dunks had a much higher degree of difficulty than Jones and he didn’t do the same 3 ones
Lavine only did it twice and one is from the free throw line... No one's ever done that before because of its difficulty

The dunk contest that resulted in this year's snoozefest. Clear biased judge that gave the wrong guy the win. This is why the stars no longer want to take part. Kenny brings up a good point early on here. "There is a similarity in the dunks", which is correct. Jones won this primarily doing the same base dunk, just adding small variations to it.
5:10 best dunk in this contest, easily beating any of Jones' yet it scored the same.
The reason Gordon loss was because he tried to dunk over Tacko fall and it failed
@Tal Hirsh Stop it, it didn't fail. AG clearly dunked over him but Tako kept being scared and for whatever reason bent down, watch it again, he he bends down after the dunk was complete. That dunk was better than Jones dunk. Jones was the least creative dunker I've ever seen. He took the between the legs dunk, did 5 different variations of it. The judges had decided to either give the title to AG or make it a tie so they all decided on a tie but then Wade completely botched it on purpose to give it to Jones. This is why the dunk contest is officially ruined, that basic corruption by Wade has now made all the top dunkers avoid the contest now.
