The opening day of the BRAND NEW East Linton Station in East Lothian, Scotland. It's like a Phoenix rising again. A rebirth. 60 years after Doctor Beeching binned it, East Linton is back.
We'll explore new station and have look for the remains of the old one.Yes it's still there to be found.
This is very exciting for East Lothian and the community giving them rail access to Newcastle and to Edinburgh and beyond.

All flatpack stations these days eh? But great for the local community. One of the stations you zoom past sometimes and struggle to read the name on the signs :) Cheers for the midweek upload mate!
Agree about the flat packs! Especially when you look at the character and architecture of the original station buildings! I was still dead excited though. 😂
😂😂 good to see Steve Marsh' here!

Congratulations Scotland and to the people of Linton, you deserve the best, and you have it in ScotRail unlike my journey from hell stuck going nowhere on a Glasgow bound Avanti train for 1.1/2 hours yesterday?
😵💫 I expected your sentence to finish with Transpennine Express - but Avanti isn’t a surprise either! 😂
@@RogEdwardsTV I wouldn't mind Rog, but my meeting went up the shoot, and I asked the staff would this delay have a knock on effect on the return Schedule, to which the reply was a resounding “I Don't know “. If they don't know, then there is little hope for the travelling public, in my opinion?
@shaunwarburton5974 I know how you feel. Service in most industries has tanked since the pandemic. If there are problems then the staff should be given the information to help their customers! I’ve had a few glasses of wine and am in danger of getting on my soap box! 🍷
@@RogEdwardsTV Then drink up, and here's to your very good health, mate.
And to you! 🙌🏻
Nice to see something different, excellent video Roger!
Thanks Jett. Can’t deny the boyish pleasure I felt! 😂😂
Its a pity they stopped doing the Sunday Market in East Linton. Was a nice place to go coming up to Christmas and spend an hour or so.
Agree! Lovely place and a great little market! 😀
Great vid as always well done
Thank you John. Much appreciated. 🙌🏻
east linton is a new station on the east coast main line rog edwards
🙌🏻
I doubt they have the capacity to add many more services Mon-Sat without adding loops/four tracking between Wallyford and Drem but it would be good if Scotrail could introduce Sunday services and reduce their fares to £8 return off peak to/from Edinburgh/Musselburgh/Wallyford. That said even Dunbar had a pretty poor service before 2010 when it got Scotrail services so we'll see what happens. I also didn't notice any road signage for the station unless I missed it. I think it would be a bit far to try and trek all the way to Tyninghame beach one day but I could try. It's usually nice to just walk up and down the High Street past where we used to live and go to Night Owl Books.
I guess the loops/four tracking would also scupper extending the ScotRail services to Reston and Berwick!
That’s quite a walk from East Linton to Tyninghame - but well worth it when you get there.
The book shop was closed by the time I got there - went to the pub instead! 😂🍺
It's supposed to be open until 7PM on other days. It only opened on Tuesday and Wednesday for December.
I appreciate you spent 10 pounds to make a show for us 😄 Astronomical price fully explains the total absence of other passengers 😂
😂 Yes they need to sort out the prices! Wallyford to North Berwick return is £7:50 and it’s a lot further out than East Linton! 😵💫
ScotRail can GTF.
I am diametrically opposed to ScotRails shit service and exorbitant prices.
I always get the bus instead of I can, especially to Glasgow. Fast, far more comfortable and cheaper.
@@sky37blueThe prices on the very short Dunbar route are definitely over-priced.
