- The 1985 Chicago Bears are widely considered to be among the best football teams to ever play the game. With an offense led by quarterback Jim McMahon and running back Walter Payton, the Bears ran roughshod over the league that year with a 15-1 regular season record and an easy 46-10 victory over the New England Patriots in Super Bowl XX. The team might have been comprised of some of the greatest football players of all time, but the 1985 Chicago Bears would be memorable even if they'd been terrible at football simply for the outlandish characters that made up their roster. Here's how the 1985 Bears look today.

What were your thoughts on the 1985 Bears?
1985 Bears were my introduction into football. The music video they made is classic!
Unbelievable
Monsters of the midway
100 pain killers a month ain’t bad I was taking 200
GREATEST single season team ever!
I can’t believe you completely skipped Walter Payton! I know he’s passed away, but he still deserves accolades
Payton died in his early 40s.The purpose of this video is to show the drastic changes in appearances over 35 years.
There will never be another Walter. He was a great athlete and a fine man. He's one of my all time favorites.
SWEETNESS! RIP!
It doesn't matter if he passed away, he's influence is still felt in Chicago football.
He was the Bears
Four words sum up the '85 Chicago Bears: "The Super Bowl Shuffle" lol. 🤣🤣🤣
How in the hell do you leave Steve Mongo McMichael's out of this?
❤❤Bears fan for life.
Sweetness was sooooo good that he got to heaven early.
I don’t care what anybody says. Al Bundy was the greatest high school football player. Once scoring 4 touchdowns in 1 game!
Polk High!
That's a good one man
Actually Ed oNeil did play professional football for short period of time I think it was with the Steelers I don't remember what position I'd have to look it up but yeah he was a professional football player short career though
Love Al.
“Leslie Frazier returned as a DB coach with the Philadelphia Eagles.
Cue interview footage with Baltimore Ravens.
That ‘85 Bears team was nasty on the field, great fun off it.
As a kid of the 70 & 80s I remember the Super Bowl Shuffle
Dan Hampton, Otis Wilson, Steve McMichael? And if you're including Ditka, what about the other half, Buddy Ryan?
Where's Payton,Mongol,Dan Hampton,Buddy Ryan?
My name is Marc. I am high functioning autistic. I met William Perry in person at Ameristar Casino in East Chicago,Indiana. The 1985 Chicago Bears FootBall Team is the best team of all time for one season. Hands Down!
Not once did he mention anything about Walter Peyton¿??????????
I remember SI had a cover page showing the Bears blowing up the Cowboys quarterback….I think teams were afraid of playing against that defense 😳
They were the best team of all time, #1 Ranked Offense #1 Ranked Defense and 1# Ranked Special Teams...no other team in history has had those rankings in the same season!
Chicago put the fear in offense. QBs was like. If I make it threw this 4 sacks 2 fumbles and -20 yard game today I'll be ok.
Matt Suhey, Otis Wilson, Gentry, McKinnon, Duerson, McMichael, Hampton, Payton, Thayer........Come on man
How dare you talk about this team without mentioning Walter Payton! Smh.
BTW Sweetness always praised his teammates and gave them encouragement.
It was his teammates that gave him his nickname!!
My uncle got to meet Walter Payton before he died.my dad still has the 1985 bears super bowl win on BETA
You forgot Walter shame on you!
Walter is in a class of his own.
Walter passed away.
Why no love for Dennis McKinnon #85
Now that was one hellva football team, and so we're the 1963 Bears team.
Willie Gault. The ageless one. What an athlete.
So close to a perfect season!
Super Bowl 20 halftime statistics for New England looked like a weather report from the North Pole: all minuses.
The greatest team to ever play the game of football
BUDDY RYAN made the Bears Super Bowl Team!!! McMahon went back to BYU and got baptized!!!
It sucks that the top comment is always who he missed. Y’all don’t realize how much work goes into these videos
The 1984 San Francisco 49ers were also 18-1 Super Bowl Champions. Their only loss was by a late 4th quarter field goal to Pittsburgh. Their Super Bowl win against Miami wasn't quite as lopsided as the Bears-Pats game, but they still dominated their opponents.
The Bears were praying for a rematch with Miami. Would have been interesting to see what might have happened if it was.
Yes, that would probably have been a much better game. @@oldtimer794
Those Bears stole that angus back play from Bill Walsh! The 49ers and Bill Walsh surprise the Bears with a angus back!
Very unfortunate what happened to McMahon and The Fridge,NFL really damages players later in life
That's nothing compared to what happened to Mongo. He'll be extremely lucky if he makes it through '22...very tragic. And yes, should've included Payton and Ryan...that man was simply a defensive genius.
They knew damn well the risks of playing football since childhood, they signed waiver practically by being in the NFL, you can't sue for something that happens to you whilst knowing your life the potential consequences.
You left out so many, you gotta do another one bruh. A part 2.
I AM A LIFE LONG WEED DEALER I SPORT 5FT.OF BATTLE SCAR FROM POLICE AND BLACKS AFTER DOING 9YRS.PRISON FOR SELLING 15GR.OF WEED IN TEX 1984, 2YRS SOLITARY CONFINEMENT .IM ON THE SAME CORNER 25YRS. I used to live a couple miles from Peyton in Barrington , and right behind his house was the hill pretty steep he used to run up and down that Hill for a leg exercise cardio, almost had a chance to meet Jim McMahon hanging out at a cigar bar in Weston Florida with Danny Marino and part owner Jason Taylor funny mine used to hang up over there but I didn't pick up the phone my buddy was calling me was over at a cigar bar that part owner of Jason Taylor and Moreno they all hang out over there I was going to go in there with bears Jersey and hey Mike ditka shirt just for kicks I know those two didn't get along but there was mutual respect between them was just going to do it for s**** and giggles the best damn quarterbacks I've ever seen that whole team they were a force to be reckoned with man except for that loss on Monday night against the dolphins I despise the dolphins now after that still
180 words and 2 commas!?! Would love to know what you're trying to say, but I got lost after Taylor.
🤣😅@@GaelinW
Gary Fencik, Dave Duerson? The 46 defense was named after Fencik. Duerson had a very interesting but tragic story.
It was actually named after Doug Plank
@@watchmelowsidekappa9184 really? 1st time I hear this. I always heard Summerall and Madden say Buddy Ryan named it after Fencik?
The 46 zone was named after Doug Plank...#46 of course. 😎🤓
Why didn’t you mention Walter Payton? And include Ditka’s idiotic choice of having Perry score that TD instead of allowing Payton, the core of the franchise for so many years, to score a Super Bowl TD? That’s a real indicator of the type of person Ditka is. “Let men make a joke about the opposition rather than validate the career-long performance of one of the Bear’s - no, one of Football’s - greatest. Guess Ditka will take that debacle to his grave.
What happened to Walt. Number 34 remember. What was it that Hampton 99 told his daughter at one time Payton was the Chicago Bears 🐻
The 85 bears know how to get the job done. 😀👍🏈
Where's Walter Payton?🙁 if your going to put a video up you need to talk about the main guy! Walter payton!
You forgot Jeff Fisher the future head coach of the Tennessee Titans. If you do a team you should do the whole team.
Dam the fridge is a sad story. He made a lot of money making commercials back then.
What about Jeff Fisher?
I loved the coach
Where is Sweetness, no one even said his name?
They got payed for their risks.
No, in the 80’s they were paid Pennie’s compared to what today’s stars receive. Plus , theirlives were put at risk without even receiving insurance for life long injuries once they left football. Thank goodness that the game rules have changed to insure that players receive less concussions and major life long injuries.
Perry is also a 2006 WWE Hall of Famer
Mike Tomczak ?!
Danny Marino showed everybody how to beat the Bears
Apparently no one else paid attention.
Walter Peyton???? Otis Wilson???? Dan Hampton????
Yes sir I am telling the truth about this.
.
And I didn't think that you were a good quarterback.
But I like your personality.
I don't touch pharmakeia
What about the players who did the superbowl shuffle
Nothing on Shaun Gayle?...
Why did they got Ron Rivera but had Leslie Frazier name get it right. Where is Walter Payton at. He's was the best running back for the Bears. He might be gone but u sure still get the guy his props.
How can you forget Walter Payton???
Make a video including payton
There😢is ABSOLUTELY No😮excuse😢for😮not including Walter😢Payton. He WAS😢the Bears way before😮the 85😮season. He had to p,any the entire game way before the Bears finally added some great p,Ayer’s.😮😮shame😮o 😮you!!!
Why was Butler called Butthead in college is what I want to know!
How dare you Skip Walter Payton.
You Forgot Dave Duerson...he's dead.
Yes completely skipped over sweetness
That's disgusting
HE IS THE PUCKY QB!!!
💯
They're a wreck
What about Steve McMichael. Really?
Ummmmm......Walter Peyton?
Not one word about Steve Mc Michael, and although they have passed, nothing on Walter Payton or Dave Duerson. 👎
No Sweetness?
Absolutely ridiculous that Walter Payton is not mentioned on the vvideo??? Just Sucks
Only if he could stay healthy
Disappointed. Payton? Suey? The FULl list of offensive and defensive lines?
Dude.. How you leave out The Greatest of All Chicago Bears WALTER PAYTON??? MAJOR FAIL!! 👎🏾👎🏾👎🏾👎🏾👎🏾👎🏾👎🏾👎🏾
What health insurance these guys are millionaires? where did these guys lose their money, gambling, girls drugs these guys disgusted me
Im sorry to hear about all the medical problems nfl players have. But you have been paid millions if you miss managed your funds that's not the nfls falt. I dont get help with my medical problems. I pay for my problems. i dont blame the job i had for 27 years, which caused a lot of them. I chose that job and the physical problems it could cause.
Skipping Walter Payton was wrong. Thumbs down.
They made millions on salary and endoresments, they should able to pay there bills
