  • The 1985 Chicago Bears are widely considered to be among the best football teams to ever play the game. With an offense led by quarterback Jim McMahon and running back Walter Payton, the Bears ran roughshod over the league that year with a 15-1 regular season record and an easy 46-10 victory over the New England Patriots in Super Bowl XX. The team might have been comprised of some of the greatest football players of all time, but the 1985 Chicago Bears would be memorable even if they'd been terrible at football simply for the outlandish characters that made up their roster. Here's how the 1985 Bears look today.

The 1984 San Francisco 49ers were also 18-1 Super Bowl Champions. Their only loss was by a late 4th quarter field goal to Pittsburgh. Their Super Bowl win against Miami wasn't quite as lopsided as the Bears-Pats game, but they still dominated their opponents.

Why didn’t you mention Walter Payton? And include Ditka’s idiotic choice of having Perry score that TD instead of allowing Payton, the core of the franchise for so many years, to score a Super Bowl TD? That’s a real indicator of the type of person Ditka is. “Let men make a joke about the opposition rather than validate the career-long performance of one of the Bear’s - no, one of Football’s - greatest. Guess Ditka will take that debacle to his grave.

Thank goodness that the game rules have changed to insure that players receive less concussions and major life long injuries.
