I’m a Bama fan but I’ve always had a respect for Michigan Football and it’s legendary winning tradition,pageantry and culture…most iconic looking helmets in football! If I was born and raised in Michigan I’m sure I’d be more than likely wearing a blue Michigan cap 〽️🧢 …so I don’t hate Michigan.
P.S. My best friend is from Ohio and he’s an incredibly obnoxious Buckeyes fan….i think I now hate OSU worse than Auburn because of him ! 😅

Everyone hates ohio, they make it so easy to do. A lot of people hate bama, but only because they've been so good for so long which just comes with the territory. People hate ohio because of the fans, and well, it's ohio, and nothing good comes out of ohio
I feel the same way about Alabama. There was a reason there was a nervous hush when teams were announced. Bama is always a handful and Saban is Saban. The Rose Bowl is a spectacular showcase and to me WAS the Natty. I will never forget this game and Alabama had a lot to do with that.
Roll tide anyway. Nothing to be ashamed of....led the eventual national champion Wolverines up until the very end. Congrats to Michigan

That drive to tie up the game in the 4th quarter with a couple minutes to go by McCarthy is the biggest drive in modern Michigan football history. That was his moment.

I’d rather lose to a blue blood than some flash in the pan team. It was a good game, sloppy, but good. When they’re this close, both teams can look at a handful of plays that could have changed the outcome of this game. It’s great for the game of college football when teams like this play each other. The Donovan throw to McCarthy who BARELY catches it and flings it to Wilson while getting destroyed is and forever will be the greatest play in it this Michigan football season. If that's a fumble, there's no guarantee McCarthy gets it. What a phenomenal play by them.
I'm a Michigan fan and my in-laws are 'Bama fans. It was the most emotional game of our lives. I can't speak for the rest of you, but this was the greatest football game my family had ever seen.

Watching this for the 10th time makes me wish we played Georgia in the natty. On paper no one would say it, and the committee made the right decisions, but the best four teams in the country were big blue, bama, dawgs, & the horns.
This game was a classic Alabama-Michigan game! All of the past games have been great. But this game meant more then any of the previous meetings. What a slug fest by two great teams!

Michigan made this game a lot closer than it should've been with their uncharacteristic mistakes. Normally, if a team makes mistakes like this against alabama, they don't win. Just shows how good this michigan team was.

@4:03 1st offensive series for Bama and the Michigan D-Line gets TWO monster sacks for huge losses. I don't think that Tide O-Line was ready for Michigan's front-end aggression and stunts. Maize-and-Blue defense was out for blood early often.

Ive heard alot of people say that michigan won because they were the top seed and got to pick the location of the game and picked the rose bowl to drag Alabama all the way out west where michigan clearly had the crowd advantage instead of playing in the other bowl which would have been basically in alabamas backyard
Alabama is geographically closer to the Rose Bowl than Michigan is. I’ve heard this take too, but anybody who is not a southern homer knows this location is chalk for both of these teams. If Bama fans won’t travel “far”, that’s a Bama problem, not a Michigan one

Wait, don't they have a month to prepare it's not like they play in 1 or 2 weeks it's 30 days . The rose bowl is always played In pasadena. That's been a tradition since 1922, so 100 year's , you don't get to pick that location. Michigan fans always travel well , even in the national championship game in Houston, Washington fans where out numbered like 10-1 .

I've heard a lot of people say this was the real championship game, but c'mon. The way these teams played, they would have lost to either Texas or Washington in the first round. Only in the first round, though. We don't know how Texas or Bama would've done in the natty, but Michigan cleaned up and Washington dropped a dud (that's not to say Michigan wasn't great defensively - they were - but Washington also played an uncharacteristically sloppy game).

That's because Washington never played a defense like Michigan, they pressured michael all night knocking him down consistently, to the point you could see him being grabing his ribs, Michigan was built to stop teams like Washington, osu runs a very similar offense as Washington, so it's nothing that Michigan hasn't dealt with before. A lot of ppl overlooked that. Also Washington had very bad run defense all year I believe they where ranked 49th or something like that in the country. So they where going to get gashed in the run game either way.

But it was plays like the missed 4th down pass to Odunze, which would have been a TD (a lot of people overlook that), given UW momentum, and changed the course of the game, that killed UW. I've seen Penix deliver dots in more pressure than that play, it was simply bad execution. There were also receivers dropping open passes on third downs (a lot of people overlook that). Again, Michigan's defense was great, but it was those sloppy mistakes that did UW in.
As for the run defense, there is no arguing that it was truly horrific in Q1. But in case you forgot, they played out of their minds afterward, such that even with a comatose offense they still kept within a TD until halfway through the 4th (a lot of people overlook that).
I am in no way saying Michigan didn't deserve to win; they did. What I AM saying is that it is ingenuine to say the Rose Bowl winner was the inevitable champion. Suppose Bama and Texas had each won instead. Would Bama be the inevitable winner? Of course not; we saw Texas beat them in Tuscaloosa earlier in the year. We simply would have seen a version of Bama that could beat a version of Texas, and it is impossible to know beforehand what version each team will put forward. The version UW put out in the natty was dreadfully sloppy, even considering Michigan's elite defense, and if you do that you don't deserve to win. It's a shame, really. I know they're better than what they put out in Houston, but people are so blinded by the run-up score and prestige of the Michigan brand that they blithely disrespect UW (and Texas for that matter) by saying the Rose Bowl was the "real championship game".

I firmly believe Washington only got to the championship games for a few reasons. First, they skated by the pac12 conference that was knocking eachother off and nobody was really the true best team from there. Second, they played Texas which, ok they beat bama, but struggled on so many other games and never really impressed. While I don't think fsu should have made it, I agree on keeping Georgia out. They had their chance in the sec title game and lost.
