      Agreed. Despite being old the Triton still holds up very well. The 48khz sound really helps I think.

    I've got the Karma myself. It doesn't have sampling, but can accept PCM cards as well as the MOSS board, and naturally comes with the titular KARMA engine instead of a normal arpeggiator. It's still a very fun and versatile instrument, especially if you manage to score the aformentioned MOSS at an acceptable price.

    I have the Le88 with weighted keys. Interestingly mine does not have the sampling upgrade even so though. But that’s ok, I use this keyboard for playing the keys, not for sampling. I have an external MPC X that I connect with MIDI and on the MPC X I can do sampling and sequencing and all kinds of stuff with a much smoother and more convenient interface and workflow 😊

    I have the TR61. Owned it since new 15 years ago and I've taken it on tour with me around the world from Australia, Japan, all of Europe and my home in the UK. Best keyboard I've ever owned and refuse to use anything but Korg. Currently debating getting a Kronos 2 as a new edition to the family but will firmly always believe these LE/TR models are unbelievably good, IF you know to use them. I've become an expert due to the countless hours spent with it haha.
    Whats the name of the patch you used at the very end of this video? Was a preset combi on the LE or was it one you loaded in? Sounds great

    Hey so I’m having a problem with my le. every time I split two different sounds or how ever many and save it in the combination, when I turn it off and back on it won’t appear in my combination no more. I have downloaded samples I’m not sure if it’s the smart media card or or the sample cards. Any suggestions?

  • @colbywalsh4610

    I’m not sure if this model of the triton does this, perhaps give it a try, but on my M 50, I can go and play the programs right off of my SD card. Granted it doesn’t let me go through and edit every part of it like I could if I saved it to a program on board, but it will let you play the programs direct from the media.

    Planning to buy this in a pretty good price and have some questions! First of all I use the triton vst and I know how it works pretty much.
    A) Are the presets targeted by category? (keybaords, organs, leads etc)
    B) How easy are patch changes on the fly? Can you basicaly categorize banks as songs and change presets with the number buttons?
    G) If so can a bank contain both prog and combi presets?

    I owned a TR-61 for a few years which was the near-identical black-cased follow up model. It was my first big synth but I gotta say I never loved it. I found the menus a bit over-complicated, the plastic buttons a bit cheap and rattly, and the presets - which is all most people could ever figure out how play on it - just had this thin sound to them: like there were no top or bottom harmonics. I don't know if it was a Korg thing of that era..? The range and choice of presets also seemed odd - too many layered arpeggiated things which no-one would ever want. Looked pretty smart and would make a decent controller keyboard but I was happy to pass it on.

No sampling and dont think id even get one, will cost more than what i paid for the unit itself. Am i right in thinking i can externally sequence up to 16 machines with it or is it just internal sequencing?

  • @FreddieShreddieTV
    @FreddieShreddieTV Před 4 lety +2

    ive got loads of modern synths sequencers etc but when i got my hands on one of these and the micro x and started sequencing the triton via those... wow. i wouldn't sell it. the combis do all sorts of stuff they dont do on the triton when its synced to other gear and sounds right up to date. heres an example of pure triton sounds sequenced by a korg emx 2... czcams.com/video/9okZEceclt4/video.html its unrecognisable as a triton in a way. i must say though, as soon as the triton knows external sync is on by another unit it doesn't act well at all, the apps, beats wont trigger so ive had to do it the longer way round but worth it. the same thing happens with all the tritons, korg micro x etc so not sure what that is but any way

      @@gearfacts Incorrect , most every programmable synth since the earliest days of MIDI (e.g. Yamaha DX7) can load sound patches into the synth's internal patch memory via MIDI system exclusive (aka "sysex") data. The sysex data is usually stored on a PC, and can be sent to the synth from a sequencer program (e.g. Logic, Cubase , Reaper), a sysex program (e.g. MIDI-OX), a dedicated or universal editor/librarian program (e.g. Sound Quest ), or else another keyboard synth or sampler or piece of hardware with sysex filing capability and both enough memory space and a storage medium like a floppy disk drive (e.g. hardware sequencer, dedicated hardware data filer - those used to exist).
