musicfog.com Ray Wylie Hubbard & Rick Richards appearing on the Music Fog stage during our music marathon. This was recorded in Threadgill's Back Room in 2011 during SXSW® music week.
Kind of amazing to think that RWH, Guy Clark, Townes Van Zant, Joe Ely, REK, Steve Earle, Billy Joe Shaver, Jimmie Dale Gilmore, Lyle Lovett, Butch Hankcock...and all those ill think of as soon as I post this... all came out of the same state within just a few years of each other!!! Thank you Texas from East Tennessee!!! Before ya'll write me a dirty reply, I didn't put Willie in because he's older and Jerry Jeff's from New Jersey! Lol
Theres a few more that are consider texas music that were from Oklahoma but actually they comined it all in one and considered it texas / Oklahoma red dirt music
Boy! I love RWH so much. How he got through this song with that flat B string is more than I could bear. 😂 Doesn’t matter, he’s Ray Wylie Hubbard, can play it with four missing strings and I’m right there. Great poet! (Cool glasses)
TO ALL RWH is the best one of a kind best kept secrets in music today he is one of a kind a true troubadour of his life and times hope all can catch a show PEACE!
Just love Ray Wylie.....he's outrageous....and tells the truth.....where else are you going to get the truth today....the only place I know of is in Music!!
I love both Hayes and Ray Wylie's versions of this song. I think RWH has a more consistent vocal performance live. It's amazing how they can play basically the same song and have it feel so different. The lyrical differences are great too!
@@auntymoi It sounds that way on their records, but I've seen both Hayes and RWH live several times. Hayes has very inconsistent live vocal performances. RWH always sounds the same to me.
...I love you man, Remember the birthday parties at 92.5 in Dallas wayback in the days of progressive rock, I used to 8-track tape recordings of them untill my house burned down see ya in galveston
I loved this song from the first lines "I love a woman who's wild ass wrong/she likes being naked and gazed upon." Let me guess, the 257 people that didn't like the song probably weren't from Texas... too bad for them.
Awesome. I was down in Lago Vista and Marble Falls. I think some Hill Country dirt done got under my finger nails and transferred to my frett board yo here in Northern Canada.
@@thelastrebelshow1627 hell yeah.. winter is finally leaving northwest Illinois so after a few days of rain in the next few weeks and I will be out there riding and enjoying life
njenney...it’s my life story... on the back of the match pack... in 89’ at a Dead Show in Pittsburgh... I was well on the ride of a 18 year old biker dancing to the Dead with my pockets full chemical romance and empty dreams! 😉👍
This is probably one of the best songs that most people have never heard.
Have you heard Choctaw Bingo by Wylie? Great song
@@treeoflibertydefense8612 only heard the James McMurtry version will have to check out.
I would hope that anybody who is at least 30 and born in Texas would know it!!
Most who have heard it think Hayes wrote it...haha
@@REDMEAT1969 on Austin City Limits Ray said he cowrote it with Hayes.

It's not about perfection but artistry & realism and it becomes perfect as it is.
Yep, it added to his largely solo effort compared to the studio version on the album.
You noticed! Good for you. Awesome how he caught you, huh?
Sweet Jesus. You wrote my life's anthem. We may have even crossed paths at some point. Thx

Hayes is way more polished vocally
@@auntymoi It sounds that way on their records, but I've seen both Hayes and RWH live several times. Hayes has very inconsistent live vocal performances. RWH always sounds the same to me.
