      1:46 it is absolutely necessary the car has to be on a level ground, parked in reverse & in 1st gear. Also make sure all your tyre pressures are set correctly since one tyre set 1lb above normal can severely affect the trajectory of the jet spray.
      PS all off above applies only to LHD cars as shown in the video

    I pulled the hose off coming from the jug and then pull the squirt and could see it squirting from the hose there so, that there let me know the issue was the between the connector hoses to the nozzles. I used a Welding Tip Cleaner and filed the holes down and put it up the connection part before and it only worked temporarily. Today, after watching you video and I did the same thing with the Welding Torch Tip cleaner and this time I felt some gunk in the shaft of the nozzle. When I sprayed the can of air into the shaft and only the nozzle, some gunk shot out of it in my hand where I could see it. Now I can see a clear opening in the nozzle too and it works. So, between using the Welding tip file cleaner and the can of air used, the two nozzles work perfectly now. Thanks for the tips and the video! :)

    As Malcolm Fraser used that saying "life was not mean to be easy" ...my jet seems to have a one way valve, when you poke in them jets you can feel something like it . I can blow water through them. Both pumps immersed in water will squirt 5m away through their out pipe, yet when i connect to the hose (i blew water through with my mouth and not even back to the jet) it won't work! I'm beat!

    People. Read and remember.
    Biological laundry detergent liquid. Any brand, choose your fragrance.
    Fill 10% of your screenwash tank with it. The rest with whatever you like, water, regular screenwash, whatever.
    Activate your screenwash pump a few times to get it circulated in the hoses. Do this in the evening when you don't need the car until the following day.
    The blockage will be cleared by morning.
    If not, repeat trying to use the screenwash. The blockage WILL clear. Guaranteed!
    Laundry detergent is also a brilliant summer screenwash. 5% dilution is sufficient.

    Never put just water in the washer bottle for two reasons. 1. It doesn't clean as well as dedicated windscreen wash fluid. 2. In frosty weather the water in the bottle will expand and crack the bottle, then you have a leaky bottle.

    Don’t put a manual car in first gear when parking. It damages your transmission gears over time. The parking brake is literally there for that reason, to disallow your car from moving. Considering you’re supposed to get your car checked every year, your parking brake should work fine.

    Every proper mechanic will smoke while doing this, as he will while doing any other repair... Fire hazard? What are you using in your shieldwash? Light fractions of oil? For fucks sakes... Where I had my practice the guy I worked under and adored didn’t spend an instance without a bud in his hand... He went through two boxes or more a day and still does... Never caught fire despite working near open petrol tanks and what not... It’s the fumes that are a problem... And if you can’t smell petrol fumes, you have bigger issues than getting blown up for smoking near it might cause...

      If they are clogged with minerals from the water, take them off and leave in vinegar overnight (or some other liquid that dissolves the built-up minerals). For future use never use tap water because it will happen again. Use window washer fluid or distilled water (distilled water only during warm weather). Usually hard water is the issue since cars have filtering mesh on the holding tank intake, so dust and other stuff that can clog the nozzles are filtered out at the mesh.

      @mmdirtyworkz Před 6 lety

      Good to know. As I'll do the same in next few days, can you tell me the vinegar didn't work or the clogging was by another means (not mineral buildup)? I tend to use vinegar on most cases where I have to remove mineral buildup from hard water so your input could save me time :)

    • @raeferwilson2599
