- Wonder Woman Flight of Courage is a Rocky Mountain Construction (RMC) Raptor at Six Flags Magic Mountain. This coaster opened in 2022 as the world's tallest, fastest, and longest single rail coaster, narrowly edging out the former record-holder in Jersey Devil Coaster at Six Flags Great Adventure. This coaster has a nearly identical layout to Jersey Devil, but it runs much better!

The backseat on this ride is no joke , this ride whips you everywhere but in a good way

When I came here during Thanksgiving, my brother and I rode this twice, and we somehow got the same seat on both rides without requesting a seat. I was in the very back (though if he was paying attention, he would've gotten the back, but the ride op was pretty rushy), and he got second to front due to a flash passer. I was really surprised by this coaster. It's my 4th favorite in the park, right behind Viper. Super underrated coaster.
I much prefer it to Viper myself.
@@CanobieCoaster Very understandable. I have always had a soft spot for Arrow coasters, so I'm definitely biased towards them lol. Objectively, Wonder Woman is a far superior ride, but Viper's jankyness and intensity is hard to beat for me lol.
@@genericnameryan I almost certainly would prefer Viper as well. I have Viper ranked ahead of all 3 raptors that I have ridden. I also love my Arrows!
Very pleased to hear the GREAT review of Wonder Woman! The graceful hills + that elegant serpentine like train negotiating that flawless track is sooooo hYpNoTiC! I can attest to the temps in NJ. We got Ultra Twister from them at AstroWorld. The hydraulic oil for the turntables were much heavier than we needing to run in Houston, TX. Once they found that out, the ride ran great.
Except I don't think it's just temperature.
I’m so glad we have this ride in socal. In my opinion Magic Mt’s coaster lineup is a little overrated because I think they have WAYYY too many inversion machines and not enough rides focused on airtime. This has some really solid moments, and it’s good enough to be my third favorite in the park.

What do you prefer over JDC? In my experience JDC has a migraine-inducing shuffle and shake to it. It's the only single rail I've been on. Does this coaster ride better in that sense or do they feel about the same?
@@mithramusic5909 this one does run a bit smoother, definitely no shuffle but maybe a small vibration. This one also runs quite a bit faster and has a few extra airtime hills at the end.

I'm not the biggest fan of the RMC raptors, but it's nice nice to hear that this is better than Jersey Devil. It's too bad that the park is no longer on 365-day operations. I'll have to plan my next California trip very carefully.
I was sad they took away 365 day operations, but I'm not surprised given how quiet it was on some of those winter weekdays.

Agreed on everything - especially the leg positioning. I rode it 20x times in a row for media day and I could barely walk afterward. I'm semi-bowlegged and it turns to agony after a couple of rides.
I feel your pain. Have had that issue on Jersey Devil.
@@CanobieCoaster For me, it's a matter of relaxing the lower half of my body. If I tense up and attempt to stabilize my body using my feet, I wind up with a truly painful Charlie Horse (a cramp?) in my groin and upper inside thighs. However, if I just decide to flex at the waist and let everything below that just completely relax, the whole ride becomes much more pleasant.
I haven't ridden this, but I have ridden Jersey Devil, and after 7 rides in 40 minutes, I was in such pain. I thought I would get used to it if I kept riding, but it kept getting worse. I would not have been able to continue riding.
Considering jersey devil gave ejector airtime on every hill for me, and when I compared full train povs they were identical, I see no way this ride could be significantly better
The second half is way better. Everyone who has ridden it has said the same.
JD was running sluggish for its first couple months. Also, the weather in NJ wasnt doing it any favours. At present time, when they’re both running hot, the rides are about equal. 6FGAdv have remedied whatever issues the second half was experiencing in the beginning. Pretty sure the dude who makes these videos hasn’t ridden JD in quite some time, and hasn’t ridden it during the thick of summer when it’s sweltering hot
SFFT WW Color Skyme with JD layout. From what I hear about Jersey Devil, I don't think this is as strong or as well paced as the original raptor clones like the Golden Lasso. But it cool how they made the layout a tad but different here, adding a different airtime ending. I still think this is a fantastic addition for a mix of airtime and inversions.
The original Raptors have top tier pacing. Few rides can match them in that category.
JD is one of the most important coasters ever built, considering monorail steel coasters will undoubtedly be the future of steel coaster construction. It (and it’s twin) have their issues/growing pains, and they may not be as good as the compact raptors, but it was necessary to see what could be done with an extended layout monorail.
This is an awesome ride, right now I'm still debating weather I like twisted colossus or wonder woman more, so as of right now twisted colossus and wonder woman are both tied at my number 1 spot at the park.
I prefer Twisted Colossus and X2 over this at Magic Mountain.
Hi, Dude. First time commenter, love your videos. This one is spot on and very well reasoned. Absolutely a back seat ride.
However, one thing I did notice about WW:FoC, is that, along with the all the positive aspects you mention, it DOES have a significant rattle, something I have not experienced on any dual rail RMC or on either of the other smaller raptors I've ridden, WW:GLC or Railblazer. It's not so bad as to cause a headache or other discomfort, but it did make me take notice. I wrote to SFMM and mentioned this, suggesting that they should call RMC to make sure this issue gets no worse.
Back when it was first opened, I loved X and then X2. However, it has gotten so darned rough and violent and injurious over the years, that as of now I won't ride it anymore. Thus, the two RMCs at SFMM are easily my two favorite rides in the park, followed closely by Tatsu, Batman, West Coast Racers, and amazingly, Goliath.
I didn't have that issue, but Wonder Woman was running just 2 trains the day I was there. I'm not sure if I got the same train for each of my rides or I tried both, but the ones I experienced were smooth. I know these rides can get a rattle based on the other installations.
Goliath is awesome. Of course it isn’t as good as Titan, but the two Gio hypers are worlds better than any of the b&m snooze fests.

This makes me wonder if humidity has an impact on how the raptor model rides, being that it's had much better intensity on the coasters in drier climates... worth a thought

The two things I've noticed between JD and WW, firstly the one extra foot on the first drop with such a long train gives it a lot more momentum going through the first half of the ride which improves pacing, and second I'm pretty sure the mid course breaks hit harder on JD, at least that was my impression when I rode it. I wouldn't be surprised if there were some minor alterations in the composition of the polyurethane wheels as well with WW.
Jersey Devil's mcbr hit hard shortly after it opened, but it hasn't since late 2021.
@@CanobieCoaster Yeah I only rode it back then, with it being so new that was likely a factor too, no time to break in properly which RMC's definitely need more than other manufacturers in my experience. Still, I think that one extra foot does make a bit of difference
I strongly suspect the height is just listed as that so they can claim it’s the tallest
I'd assume differences in wheels and weather would contribute to momentum far more than 1 measly extra foot of drop.

This looks fun. I haven’t ridden this nor Jersey Devil, but I did enjoy Railblazer and Wonder Woman GLC.
The original Raptors are more intense, but this has added length at least.
I’m not gonna lie, the night rides on this thing are pretty insane.

I’m so upset it was closed when I went a little over a week ago. But magic mountain is one of my home parks so I will get to it sooner then later. It’s actually funny because this means stunt pilot might actually be my first raptor. The most remote raptor instead of one at one of my home parks.
Did it look like it had mechanical issues or was it staffing?
@@CanobieCoaster my guess was staffing. The 5 was closed to the north of the park that day and the park had been closed the past two days due to weather. So it’s possible a lot of staff just could not get there. That’s most likely why when the the park opened only west coaster racers and full throttle where open. And as staff got there more rides opened but they just never got the staff to run All the rides. But that’s just my guess
Stunt Pilot is the most intense coaster I have ridden. Granted I am not a well travelled coaster rider either.
The first time I rode this was a few days after it opened. I got lucky to get the very front. and the first drop feels amazing.

If you marathon it it hurts in the shoulders. That's ok; you can take the both soft and redundant shoulder restraints off. I eventually did that on Jersey Devil and on my last day at SFGA I rode El Toro with a Ride op I'd had on J.D. and told him I did that and hd said "we all do!" I haven't ridden Wonder Woman Flight of Courage but I'm sure it's even better than J.D., even if it was running better in 2022. I'm glad you love this coaster; it seems to me to be an underrated RMC.
I've never taken the straps off since it was the park and manufacturer who put them there.
Yeah, staff @ 6FMM ride this thing strapless all the time. The straps are totally unnecessary

Wonder Woman is one of, if not my favorite in the park. I'm not someone who loves crazy airtime. I'm definitely more of a smooth, slow, hangtime guy. Some airtime is good for me, but hangtime is where it's at. My favorite element on Twisted Colossus is the stall, but in order to enjoy that bliss I have to endure the rest of the ride. Not that Twisted is a bad ride. I certainly think it's great. It's just that there's too much aggressive airtime for my taste. So I'm glad I can ride WWFOC and not have as intense airtime. There's still airtime, but no as much or as aggressive as Twisted. I don't know if I place Wonder as my number 1, since I need to get more ride in, but right now, it's up high on my list with Full Throttle and Tatsu.
I agree Wonder Woman does hangtime really well.
Such a phenomenal Coaster. I wish the queue and station looked better and I hate how it steals the skyline from riddlers Revenge. But it's a great ride. Currently resides as my #13 Coaster of the 112 that I've ridden
The bare station is shocking after the nice indoor queue.
The theming is absolutely horrible, especially compared to JD which was surprisingly excellent
How much better can this run in the second half? When I rode jdc last year, it was hauling through the whole layout.
I was skeptical, but the airtime was noticeably more sustained and powerful.
As a huge fan of Rail Blazer I can't wait to ride this.

Whip- how a train is pulled through an element, Hangtime- hanging out of seat, Negative Gs- airtime, Positive Gs- feel heavy, Airtime- lift out of seat, Pacing- how quick or engaging a ride is, Forceful- how intense
perhaps its faster due to aerodynamics? Jersey Devil has a relatively cluttered train which could cause drag, and the general area is less decorated than Jersey.

I've rode every RMC in the US other than Jersey Devil, and Wonder Woman Flight of Courage is my #40 overall. It is the third best in the park behind X2 and Twisted Colossus and slightly ahead of Tatsu. In terms of RMC's, it is behind the other Raptors for me. I think WWGL at SFFT and RailBlazer are the two best and Stunt Pilot is slightly behind those 2. I would put WWFOC ahead of Joker at SFDK and New Texas Giant at SFOT. I should get on Jersey Devil in late May, so my expectation is it just won't be as good as this one. I agree the back is the way to go on this coaster. I found the back few rows to be the best.
I definitely prefer the older raptors, but this is still great.
Back on these extended raptor layouts, but front on the smaller ones imo

I thought Jersey Devil and Wonder woman rode similarly. JD last summer was cooking, and ran the fastest it's every run
I rode it a lot last year. This ran much better in the second half.
I can only ride these large scale single rails once because of the hip pain it causes. I start to cramp in the hip before the first ride even ends. The small scale raptors hurt a little bit too but I only cramp up if I ride it more than twice in a row. I prefer railblazer at California great America over wonderwoman and jersey devil

im so Bummed i went to Magic Mountain for the first time from Ohio 4-21-2024 and Wonder Woman was Down, i guess it was Down for over a Week. that Hurts my soul, i wanted my First Single Rail Credit

On a more positive note, wonder woman is really fun when I was able to ride it. Definitely my fourth favorite in the park.
Most people look past the operational issues and focus on the amazing coasters.

This ride looks amazing, but I do wish they had this themed to Green Lantern instead because of how incredibly underrepresented that DC character is within the park. For that reason, if the park decides to add another attraction to their DC area, I hope it's themed to Green Lantern unless it's some sort of water ride like a Mack Power Splash. If it's the latter, I'd want it themed to Aquaman instead.
I think Flash needs more coasters too.
That sort of theming is cringe all the way. The theming on this thing is embarrassing
