    I’m a ride op for Arctic Rescue! Glad you enjoyed it! We do run 2 trains on most days now, at the time of your visit the other train was out for maintenance.

      Ah ok! It wasn't an issue during my visit since it was so quiet, but a local friend must have been unlucky seeing one train in their summer visits. The crew working the ride was great.

    I hope more parks invest in these straddle coasters. I enjoyed Arctic Rescue quite a lot.

    I rode this coaster 3 times in July 2024. It was definitely an addition the park needed, and I truly enjoyed the experience (especially considering it was my first tire-driven straddle coaster). Maybe it wasn’t as busy as other days in SeaWorld San Diego, but during my visit, Manta had the longest wait with electric eel in somewhat close second and Arctic Rescue coming in third (Journey to Atlantis was also closed for most of the day and Emperor had the shortest wait due to location). There were two trains operating that day, so that must’ve played a part as to why the wait wasn’t as long. Additionally, and I don’t know if this is confirmed, but as far as height goes, the coaster doesn’t go any higher than 30 ft, and with a top speed of over 40mph, you really feel it as it stays low to the ground most of the ride. Overall, I really enjoyed this ride, and if the opportunity presents itself, I would definitely ride it again, as well as it’s brother in San Antonio.

      I'm surprised Journey to Atlantis had a short wait. That's usually one of the longer queues.

    I love Sea World SD, but man, I really wish they added something airtime focused. The park could really use that if they can get around height restrictions. Great review! I just binge watched all 500 something coaster review ids you made 😂

      I'd love an airtime centric ride too.

    • @TPThemeParks

      @@humaunleashed5219 I’m referring to something like a raptor or a woodie where the focus of the ride is airtime.

    It's definitely a solid family coaster & a really good addition to SeaWorld SD, but man the theming is just so unbelievably disappointing, sans after the exit & the helicopter. It could have been SOOO much better for fairly cheap. Such a bummer. Atleast its landscaped well, like you said. Great review!!

    I actually really like this ride, the first launch has a little bit of power, and the ride has some fun elements. Unfortunately, because SWSD has so little roller coasters, this ride had a very long wait, not helped by the fact that it broke down when I was in line. It is my 3rd favorite in the park (Granted I did not ride Electric eel on my visit) and Emperor is my favorite. I am looking forward to a review of that ride 🤞🤞

    one thing i definetely noticed is that seaworld has slowly added more theming and landscaping to this ride. i rode it a few weeks after opening last june and none of the bigger rocks, cargo and signs, or the helicopter were there. also, there were less trees and it overall just looked less nice. but it seemed that almost every time i rode it i saw some new theming pieces and landscaping

    I am guessing this is your least favorite of the three Intamin Strattle Coasters built by SeaWorld. Where would you rank this among the other rides in the park?

    • @CanobieCoaster
      @CanobieCoaster  Před 8 měsíci +5

      Correct, I prefer the other two straddle coasters in the chain. It's behind Manta, Emperor, and Electric Eel for coasters.

    My foot got caught when I got off the ride and I flopped right onto the concrete. Hilarious memory and a fun ride.

    I rode this ride this past Saturday. Fun family ride. Fir those that might be curious it is plus size friendly. It just depends on where you Carry your weight. I'm 5'8 270 and I carry a lot of my weight In my thighs and lower stomach and while I did fit, the lap bar was very tight and cut off the circulation in my thighs towards the end. I probably won't ride it again until I lose some more weight. Lol

      Thighs seem to be the biggest thing stopping people from riding. I've had issues even with things in my pockets unless I remove them.

    i go to swsd about once every two weeks, and i’ve only seen this ride run one train once. the capacity isn’t the best and the dispatches aren’t great, but they usually run 2 trains, and i mostly go on dead days. i’ve seen the ride usually gain long waits because of breakdowns and slow dispatches.

      I visited on a very quiet day, so the one train ops were not a problem for me.

    I haven't been there since Emperor opened. I feel that if a park wants to go for a mostly forceless ride to please the families, they need to go with one that can have a shorter height limit. I'm sure I would still enjoy it though, as I do like Wave Breaker & DarKoaster for what they are. But a couple rides would be enough, then I'd be back over at Manta.

    • @CanobieCoaster
      @CanobieCoaster  Před 8 měsíci

      The higher height limit is my issue with the motorbike coasters in California.

    This is my second favorite ride in the park behind Manta. A controversial opinion, I know, but this ride feels complete to me and succeeds at what it is trying to achieve. The launches are punchy, and while the forces are mild, you have some good speed and a themed setting. Emperor has a great first drop, but the rest of the ride is so short and doesn’t particularly blow me away. It’s also basically a parking lot coaster with an atrocious setting and virtually no theming.

    Really a missed opportunity not having this coaster more out in the open for guests to see. It would be so much more kinetic going over and under pathways but it is most definitely a budget move to not do that.

    Interestingly, it seems like the people on Google Maps really hate this ride. Just like how they don't seem to like Wildcat's Revenge as much as the other rides at Hershey.
