Excellent, clear and this will be my guide for my own project.. soon to start. thanks guys
What a generous man you are. There’s so much information in this and your other videos. I’m blown away every time I come to your channel. Thanks so much, I’m going to tackle this on my own next year and I’m pretty much using your info exclusively. I’ll owe you!
Awesome thanks very much!!
This is the simplest explanation I have found. Nice and quick!
Thanks Sam 👍
These so-called rooms look so much better with a pitched roof - at greater cost of course.
All down to personal taste I guess 👍
Good to see you got a proper level now! ;)
She's a beaut haha 😁
Brilliant. Thank you.
Looks really nice.
Awesome videos mate. Looking forward to building one of these at my home here in Australia.
Hi. Great build and series. More details of the wireless switches for the soffit and outside lights please. Thx.
Lovely garden room. What do you use to seal the cedar cladding?
great video, thank you
Thank you! 🙌
Is the celling horizontal or sloping to match the pitch of the roof?
Great videos guys. So impressed with your attention to details and how tidy your site always is. Couple of questions please. I’m planning a 4x2.4 garden room with a timber base frame rather than concrete. Is C16 timber ok or do I need to go for C24 for the base and for the stood work and roof? Also, for the lintel, what do you suggest I use? I have noticed you tend to use 2 125x47 joists paired together, when others use steel. Is steel really necessary? The space I am designing is a room with a door and next to it a sheltered area for a bench and table, but this would be open at the front, covered by the roof that is one roof all the way across (not sure if I’m explaining it properly sorry). Thanks 👍
Thanks Andrew. C16 and C24 are pretty similar however C24 is a bit stronger and has less defects. For the lintel we use 2 8x2's put together. Plenty strong enough, never really any need for steel unless it's a really big span like 4m doors. Cheers, James
Love the garden rooms you guys make. Can you let me know where you get your exterior lights from with the wireless controller? That's exactly what I need for my shed. Thanks
TLC Electrics 👍
Great video .. how long would it take to build ?
Just wondering why the roof joists go the long way has a retired carpenter we always took the shortest route for strength
Makes the overhang stronger on the front 👍 Also, this build had a partitioning wall so that added the strength in the centre of the room which allowed us to use 5x2’s. If it were the whole length we would of probably opted for 6x2’s or gone across the room as you have mentioned. 👍
👍..
What did that garden room cost to the customer? Looks fantastic.
Superb video - thanks. How did you finish the right side? Nearby fence. You shown at some point breathable membrane and battens, but how did you finish it? I am facing similar problems, and thinking of cladding first and then lifting up the wall.
Finished with box profile sheets 👍
Room looks great, what size timbers did you use for the walls / studs?. Thank you
4x2 Mark 👍
Do you vapour barrier over the actis insulation, and then just push internal downlights up against the vapour barrier into the insulation ?
great video!!! just one question, you didn't cover how to attach the cladding to the side that you can't fit down near the fence. Is there a trick to fixing it on with no space? Also... when it comes to planning, how close to you make the slab from the party fence and how far in do begin the timber build?
Hi, we just fixed form the outside with the normal 10mm hex screws as normal. We could actually fit down there so it wasn't an issue. If you can't fit down the side you have to finish the wall before standing it up 👍
Hi. I'm just making my way through your videos for the third time. I'm loving them. I just have to pluck up the courage to start.
Could you please give me some information on the side door of this build? Is it a high security door and are these doors freely available or through specialist suppliers?
Thank you very much.
Hi, thanks for watching!! Yes would will need to find a supplier for the doors. We use BSW doors as our supplier and we get on very well with them. Might be worth putting a call in!
@@creategardenrooms that's great. I will look them up. Thank you for your reply.
Brilliant video. Can I ask how much you would charge the client for that build or is that asking too much???
Great video guys, 2 question what happened to the last video you posted but no final video to the pother job, And where do you get your storage door from
We were unable to finish the other series as we had short staff the last week of the project. These videos take up an enormous amount of time and just aren't possible if we have issues like that 🙃 Hope this new video helps. Thanks, James
I have been looking at framing windows/doors and the usage of Jack & King studs. Is there a reason those as well as the headers look to be missing from the doors/windows? Is that a different spec where you are?
Looking to build a garden room 3m x 4m and the roof runs front to back 4m how much higher should the front be? Thanks 👍
It only has to be a slight fall and the water will run off. 70mm Will do. This can also be found explained in the roof section of the video 👍
Hi
Where did you purchase the breathable shed wrap BBA written on it please?
From any local builders merchants. It’s called breathable roofing membrane 👍
How do you finish the metal box cladding to the cedar on the corners . I am doing a room and the back and the rhs are not seen so that should save a lot of money
I’ll do a video soon 👍
How high is this garden room?
How much is cost 🎉
How much would this cost please 😱
Who does the concrete works? And the wrapped around black plastic material for damp proofing at around 8min into the video is just put under each wall plate?
Just DPC Under the wall plates 👍
Hi budd just want to know on 5mter span on flat roof will 2x8 be safe thanks
Yes I would of thought so that’s plenty. Do 2 rows of noggins too 👍
@@creategardenrooms thank u 🙏
Great video, thanks a lot! How sturdy do you reckon your walls and roof are? I'd like to build a garden room similar to this but the roof should double as a playset for kids with a slide going down - do you think your build is stable enough for that?
Deffinitely!
Thank you, is it tanalised?..
Sure is c16 or c24 will be fine
Hi
What mitre saw you using?
Makita 👍
Why are are you building garden rooms next to a fence using a Timber frame exterior should it not be a fire approved material as it’s within 1mtr of the boundary
Cladded with steel sheets 👍
½ a mm 🤣🤣🤣
