  • Some service members and others suffering from Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) have had little relief from traditional anti-depressants used in conjunction with psychotherapy. Now, a recent FDA-approved trial using a psychedelic drug called MDMA - better known by its street name, ecstasy - has shown promising results. CBS News national security correspondent David Martin talks with a former Marine whose two tours in Iraq presaged twelve years of nightmares, panic attacks and failed relationships - and who now finds hope.

PTSD Isn't just for service members. That stigma should have been thrown out of the window a LONG time ago. Sure I understand Veteran's Day was a just a few days ago but still. That's like saying AIDS is still ONLY a Gay man's disease. We need to come together, and move beyond these stigmas.

Bring on the psychedelics! My son has PTSD and anxiety and after a hospital stay he experimented with mushrooms and that is the one and only thing that helped him. It removes the ego and helps people process thru the actual trauma.
It’s a damn crime to keep this from the people.

I like to use these to go on a trip, once every year, or few years. It always makes me feel less attached to my pain. It needs to be done responsibly, but for sure we should have been using these long ago. Scratch that. We were using them long ago. We should never have made them against the law and stopped using them.

Great idea 💡!!! However my fear would be in the addiction characteristics. As of right now Xanax is prescribed for PTSD which in itself can be addictive 🤔.

I am a victim of PTSD and pray every night that I can finally say that I am a survivor. , I had a few traumatic events that happened in my young life, and traumatic health conditions that led to emergency surgery. I have never been the same. every time you hear PTSD it is and always has been decades ago tagged with veterans. nowhere do I find when studying literature about post-traumatic stress disorder does it ever say only happens to people of war It states it happens to people who have suffered traumatic events and their lifetime so whoever put a tag of veterans behind PTSD created a horrible misdiagnosed mistreated situations for people of many race many religion many ages. I could not tell you how much pain both emotionally mentally and physically that I go through in a week. I like many others have been put on every medication man-made medication pharmaceutical grade medication that has ever been brought to the market and I have failed each and every one of them.
If anyone out there can help me or knows how to help me, please I beg you to reach out to me I am willing and open to any therapeutic drugs. I just want to regain myself, I long to be happy again longer than just one hour of a day. I strive to have one solid sleep a night, I can't even fall asleep, I can't stay asleep, I go days with only a couple hours of sleep. I am now in my late '40s and empty nester, And boy the last 3 years my world has changed. The last 8 months now I can't even get out of bed I can be in bed for days no food no water no medicine Just a zombie. No one chooses to live like that, If you know me, you too would say what is the matter with you!!!
I need help, I need someone to help me to trust me that way in turn I can trust them. So again if you are someone that can help me or know someone that can please reach out to me. Thank you so much!!
