  • KTM 200 XC-W Bike Build: rmatvmc.link/k...
    Jay Clarks' latest project is a 2007 KTM 200 XC-W, built specifically for his son and the trails! Making the transition from mini bikes up to a full sized trail bike can be tough for some riders. It's important for the rider to feel comfortable and confident on their machine and this is where the KTM 200 XC-W build comes in. Jay Clark set out to build the Ultimate Transitional Trail Machine for his son Spencer moving up from a Honda CR85 Expert. Jay walks us through everything done to this KTM 200 XC-W 2 stroke to make it the ultimate trail machine. Factory
      Connection makes custom spacers to shorten internally and doesn’t cut shafts so
      that its not reversible later- They can use a shorter spring series and
      depends on each bike - That bike is a PDS bike with no link so shortening
      inside is the best day. Can take up to an inch out-

    • @rmatvmc
      @rmatvmc  Před 8 lety +2

      +iTooob The best way is by the VIN # or title. From simply just looking at the bike, XC-W's i want to say come with a speedometer stock.. maybe you could base it off that to help you? But both bikes are able to run a speedometer.. so if someone has put one on in the last 9 years who knows? I would go off the VIN #.

    The "two strokes use fuel faster than 4 strokes" myth is fake, A high performance DOHC fuel injected hot rod motor(be it enduro or mx) will suck gas at pretty much the same rate. And the two stroke 250 vs a 4 stroke 250, they are almost neck and neck with fuel consumption lol.... My 200 xcw went well over 6 hours today and it hardly used any gas

    • @SlammedBeretta
      @SlammedBeretta Před 8 lety

      +spencer 124 2 strokes burn through fuel faster than 4 strokes, a gallon of 2 stroke fuel contains 2.5-4 ounces of oil depending on the ratio, A gallon of fuel for a 4 stroke contains a gallon of fuel its not displaced by oil like 2 strokes. Also since the oil in the pre mix for 2 strokes does double duty as fuel and lubrication they tend to run 2 strokes a little richer to get adequate lubrication for the piston and rings, The more fuel that goes into the head the more oil that goes along with it!

    • @spencer1244
      @spencer1244 Před 8 lety

      Yup true, my 200xcw sucks the gas down like an Olympic runner! A tank of gas will last about 5-7hours, yes I totally agree, but I bought a 2t to avoid the risk of buying a used 4 stroke bike lol...

      Obviously I can ride it extremely fast but if you blast the throttle like an idiot things can get ugly fast lol

    • @rmatvmc
      @rmatvmc  Před 9 lety +4

      derfboy15 He was going for the thicker guage steel that this pipe offers for more impact protection. Its kind of a personal preference on how you want your power to deliver. For trails and single track canyons this bikes setup is pretty clean.

    DONT BUY THE FATTY PIPE FOR TRAIL RIDING it's not made for it its less durable and gives the bike power in the rpms that u don't need for trails. If U are buying a fmf pipe for trails get the gnarly pipe it's more durable and adds more low end power.
