This song definitely has a country feel to it. The guitars and his breaking voice connotes that genre. He sings in different styles.

Check out k.d. Lang if you like this sound. "Constant Craving" or remake of Roy Orbison's "Crying" top two but her earlier country songs are great like"Western Stars" also done by Chris Isaak or "Pullin' Back The Reins" and many more moody love songs.

I went to the same high school as Chris Issac (AA Stagg high, Stockton, CA.) in 1974. He always had his guitar case with him. He would play at lunch on the senior glade surrounded by girls, girls, girls. Later in the 1980's, my wife and I would go see him at New George's in San Rafael, CA. Standing 5 feet from him, dancing our asses off..Peace Dean Bros

It was written and produced by Lionel Ritchie, one of my all time favorites. He recorded some amazing love songs too, but he wasn't country. Enjoy.!

Dear Miss Olivia would you please do nothing compares to you by Chris Cornell and at the same acoustic sessions nearly forgot my broken heart. Chris Cornell will make you cry in a good way. Chris is a great singer and if you want to see he's been around since the 1980s and he had a television show in the 1990s on showtime but you can see it on youtube, just type in Chris Issak Show you can see many episodes and you know it's right if there is a naked mermaide on a turntable
