    Natalie Dormer as Anne Boleyn
    Jonathan Rhys Meyers as Henry lV
    They may not have been physically acurate to the real Henry & Anne. But their acting was the best among all the actors & actresses that played Henry or Anne. They made them alive again through their hardwork and talent. ❤❤❤❤
    Btw, this song is so nice ☆☆☆

      do u think they're the first 5 wives? the lack of their heads could indicate that all of them, in a way, didnt survive being married to him. and in this pic, theyre bound to him bc he caused their downfalls, while catherine parr survived. ik that anne of cleves was the ultimate survivor, with lots of wealth and living a decade more than henry, but her downfall could just be the divorce. i cant think what else it could be

    • @iluvlafferty
      @iluvlafferty Před 6 lety +34

      No, the REAL Queen was Catherine of Aragon, who was denied her rightful place on the throne due to Henry's disgusting indiscretions with Anne. She was only seducing Henry to impress her father, anyway.

    • @hannahmarie6501
      @hannahmarie6501 Před 6 lety +16

      iluvlafferty Impress her father? No, she wanted to marry another young man and she intended to do so but her parents forbid it. Anne was a pawn in a game of power and women had to obey their families. Especially noble rank. You married who they told you to. I truly believe that Henry and Anne loved eachother feircly and they were soul mates. But Anne was just doing as she was told at first.

      @CassiopeiaForDB5K Před 4 lety +14

      No, she never 'set her eyes' on Henry. In fact, it was the contrary, Henry was the one who called dibs on her. She probably never truly loved him even. The one she loved was Henry Percy, the then son of the Duke of Northumberland. But Henry (and by extension Wolsey) broke them apart. When Wolsey was arrested near the end of his life, he was arrested by Henry Percy, which was probably the biggest middle finger that Anne could give him back then haha.

    (Cont.) Also, out of the 3 dresses that I distinctly recognize (1,2, and 4), 2 were worn by characters who were not his wives: the 2nd I'm pretty sure was worn by Mary Boleyn (although she was his mistress for about 1 episode) and the 4th by the queen of France. Both are from the 1st season, but the 1st dress I only recognize as being worn by Jane in season 3, although it might've been worn by someone else first in season one.

    My interpretation of the image:
    1st Lady - Anne Boleyn; neck clearly defined by wearings. Flamboyant, alluring colours (i.e. red) on attire.
    2nd Lady - Jane Seymour; looks as if her right hand is on trying to touch the baby, but trapped by Henry's throne - also notice sword. Innocent, simple necklace.
    3rd Lady - Anne of Cleves; simple necklace, she escaped Henry through the back door, thus her position of behind the throne.
    4th Lady - Catherine of Howard; fresh and vibrant; young

      apparently the real anne wasnt particularly beautiful. her personality and mannerisms were charming and alluring (sexy) and thats probably what drew henry to her, rather than her looks. plus she was intelligent, well read and knew how to play people's passions. But i agree with u. i think he just loved her charm and youth rather than her. i think catherine howard is the one he loved just for her beauty

    Just putting this out there, I don't think the women standing around Henry in the picture are meant to represent any particular wives (especially since it would therefore make the most sense all 6 and not just 5). It seems to me they're just random women who are basically just symbolic of the various women that shaped the events of Henry's reign, or as a symbol of his power/sexual prowess.

    4th Lady cont. - Taking the crown; neck defined again, like 1st lady.
    5th Lady - Catherine Parr; simplicity and at her husband's side; vacant neck area for she dies last.
    Truly a piece of art!
    P.S. I am not sure if my interpretation is anywhere near what's intended; the 3rd could well be in-fact Jane Seymour for it has angelic colours, while the 2nd could be Anne Boleyn - eccentric purple.

      He got old and fat after his leg injury during his marriage with Anne Boleyn and degraded much faster than he appears in the show, but prior to that there are a huge number of accounts that prove Henry VIII was definitely one of the most handsome princes in christendom during that century. He was known to be a very active sportsman, playing tennis and jousting in quite a bit of his leisure time, so he wouldve had an immensely impressive physique, especially considering how many accounts state he was not shy about flaunting it after working up a sweat. he also apparently had quite impressive legs, if thats your thing ;)
