That music is mesmerizing. I am re-watching the series right now. As S1E5 opened, I watched the opening as usual. I'm not a connoisseur of art, so there's that, but for me, it's one of the most stunning pieces of visual art I have ever seen. After the opening, I switched chairs and came here to look up the music. And here I am.

Tecnically, the Tudors are the sequel to Game of Thrones. Since the Tudor Dynasty took over after the War of the Roses, which was the inspiration for Game of Thrones.
Alot of the Tudor history inspired grrm, the war between the Starks and lannisters was inspired by the war of the roses(Lancaster Vs York) and cersei has some similarities to Anne Boleyn.

I was thrilled to find this extended version of the opening theme for the Tudors. I watched the whole season on Netflix last year. It’s so regal and haunting I can’t get it out of my head. I would get emotional when I heard the opening. It affected me that deeply.
LOVE this theme song, and LOVE Jonathan Rhys Meyers portrayal of King Henry VIII!!! Reminds me of what a young Robert Baratheon would be like... And as much as I love GoT, The Tudors theme song is much better!
Now its time for another rewatch I love the tudors and I think it got into researching the history this along with shows like The Crown and The Borgias present a gold standard for this kind of costume drama series in if the writer grips you and want to know more to the point where you want to research the events that is a stroke of mastery for any writer
The Tudors were a little leaning to sexploitation in the first series. But it ia perfectly understandably when the bodies of Jonathan Meyers and Henry Cavill are on screen. 😏 The show had amazing production design, costumes and very eloquent speech, and very good acting from almost everyone. I remember watching it on a Greek channel in summer 2007 and was mind lown by its freshness and lewdness. Haha

I used to know a bit about the tudors when I was in school history lesson and I was hoping for them to do a film or TV series but now that I saw it on amazon I had to get the whole seasons and I am enjoying it and I do love the opening of this though
this show was spectacular. I was initially introduced and drawn to this show because henry cavil was in it, but I ended up staying for king henry and all his madness. I remember coming home from school and just binging watching it like crazy fun times.

Hi a fantastic theme when i first bought the 1st season and heard the main title theme i was hooked and knew this was going to be a very good series to watch and after i watched all the 1st series i could not wait to get my hands on the 2nd series and so on, now i have all 4 seasons and will never sell them it is the best drama that the BBC has released on television for the last 25 years with a fantastic cast and music by trevor morris so well done with the extented theme thanks..i love it.

Cold Case, Tudors, The Walking Dead, Buffy, Angel, Law & Order: SVU, Game of Thrones, Charmed (both theme songs), and Pokemon are some of the best themes.
The theme music itself touches the very core of your heart, and shakes your soul.. So many queens executed. The brutality of king henry the 8th, hits you between the eyes, and you are totally shocked. This music is just terrifying, and you are totally absorbed to the happenings, what a music!!!!
