Mariah adopting Bone's rapping style and flowing in/out of her words. The beat with the birds in the background, etc is just timeless. Yeah, this song is 25 years old and STILL sounds just as crisp in 2022 as it ever did before.

You nailed it. I was 14yo when this came out and I loved it then. Love it now. People sleep on the depth of Mariah’s writing and vocabulary. She expresses, in lyrics, raw emotions with such poetry that you don’t even realize how powerful it is.
I would listen to the original version exactly last year towards the end of a toxic long term relationship. Song described my thoughts/feelings at the time, I went insane after he left after he manipulated and abused me for years. Thankfully , probably one of the best things to happen. I’ve grown a lot as a person and I’m not so quick to trust anybody anymore. I’m happier now! And finally free from that mess lol. Took me around 6-8 months to fully get that out of my system.

I love that Mariah actually puts effort in her remixes.
Between Mariah's vocals, her ability to blend with Bone with her rap flow singing, Bone's harmony, the beat, and the blend and harmony. THIS SONG IS CRAZY CLASSIC! At one point Mariah had like two vocals singing at once while Krayzie has like three vocals going, Layzie had a vocal going and it didn't sound crowded. It sounded perfect and so melodic!
