A very rare talent ....I can't deny when I was a child I wasn't really into Mariah . As I grew up, I heard few songs of her and her voice always gave me goosebumps...I always thought she had the most beautiful tone and eventho at that time everyone was praising Whitney as the voice I always liked Mariah more. I remember in december they played holy night at the tv and since that day I fell in love with her ....To me it doesn't matter if she fails 1000 times ...In my book she is the best ever ...No matter if in the future someone can go in the 10th octave or can run 60 notes in a second ...her musicality will still stand out and no one can deny it ...I thank the Lord I was born in the same lifetime as her

People praise her now because she started before Mariah and had no competition in the 80s vocally but I honestly don't remember people praised Whitney so much in the 90s. Mariah was bigger and much relevant , she dominated everything. Mariah in addition to being superior vocally and a more interesting voice, she 'a true artist, songwriter, producer, composer, video director, musical genius, credited for popularization of melisma, whistles, remix, collaborations between singers and rappers.... She' s a musical genius, they are not in the same league and everything Mariah Carey achieved in the 90s proves it ... Her versatility is one of the reason why she will always be unmatched, listen to this song... she can sing anything in a credible way and make it a masterpiece. Her voice has everything. Unfortunately, a singer has to die to be truly appreciated

Yup. When i bump this song, itz always the version from Thug Mentality cos Da Brat just annoys me on this. Not sure if Kray just did an extra verse for his album version or if they took out his 2nd verse to put Da Brat in it, but...ugh.... annoying.
This should just be a duet, even this video version. If so, this would probably be considered a classic. Instead, it turns into a generic rap feature. She literally just crashed the party, threw some money round, and needs editting cos she couldn't just drop a clean verse on this.....AND the topic is about belonging together cos you ultimately truly love each other....her verse is terrible in that regards... and bang average at best otherwise.

Best version is from Krayzie Bone's Thug Mentality album where Kray does the 3rd verse and there's no Da Brat. So much better as a duet. Da Brat's verse is just out of place for the song, and Krays additional verse on his album is awesome and befitting of the track.
