- One of the most essential pieces of gear for every photographer is a tripod. There are so many different choices out there and many of these choices are based on what you shoot and where you shoot. I do a lot of location work and travel with my gear, so for me, it's important that my tripod be lightweight, yet sturdy. Also, I'm 6'1" and need a tripod with good height.

I ended up getting the Feisol Elite Tripod CT-3472LV, which is a carbon fiber tripod that has a self-leveling center column. I paired that with the Feisol Ball Head CB-50DC which also is carbon fiber and seems ideally suited for the tripod. I actually even reached out to Feisol to consult them about my decision and they were so helpful and responsive.
A good tripod system will last for years, hopefully decades, so buy right the first time. And remember that the tripod is holding your precious camera equipment, so definitely not worth skimping on a tripod if you value your gear.

Getting and looking for new gear has to be one of the most fun parts of photography (aside from shooting/editing of course lol) I am anxiously waiting on the most simple mail order products right now (new lens hoods, straps, filters, etc) but still I am SO excited for them to get here and cant wait to rip open those boxes and play with all my new stuff haha. I love it!
Diggin the new logo....although the old one was equally great.
Do yourself a favor and call RRS and get their L-Plates as well as their quick release for your ball-head. Your work flow will be much more fluid. Cheers.
Peter Hurley has one and you are the second one that reviews it :)
Check out Markins ball heads. They really do have best quality and it's absolutely fan-terrific!
Got mine two weeks ago, "quality stuff" ;-) imo the best tripod for the money
you should've gotten Gitzo tripods w/ Markins ball head!
That combo is truly magica.
Yup, Peter recommended it to me!
I'm going to need you work on your annotations, Adam lol. Thanks for the vid, tho!
Billy Mays is back =D
Awesome video!
Hi Adam!
Why you didn't buy a Gitzo or a Manfrotto?
Vus ferklempt? Ich veis! Who packages like dis? Just watching you fumble with the schmudtzedik wrapper was ferdreing mein kop! A curse on the nebech drek who makes this packaging!
Great un-boxing by the way. I love your work and your videos and I wish my Yiddish was better. :-)
To me the mic sounds good......how it cost this tripod ? Is it veri light?
Feisol tripods are awesome :)
I just got a Feisol Tournament CT-3442 tripod and a Feisol CB-050DC ball head. Previously, I used a pistol grip Manfrotto ball head and am not sure what I’m doing here but something is wrong.
When I screw the ball head onto the tripod, there is a natural feel to the endpoint. However, the ball head will still continue to rotate on the tripod. There’s an ugly
sound but it moves. So, if I forget to unlock the panning knob and try to
swivel the ball head, it will move. I can’t seem to figure out how to lock the
ball head down completely. Does that make sense?
what kind of tripod did you use before?
I really like your channel but the microphone you use is so strange it makes my ears hurt.. Could you use a different Microphone
I have d800 and 24-70 and 70-200 as the bigest lens. I have idea to bye 3442 rapid for travel and landscape. But I realized that there are some other models. What do u suggest me. Thanks
Where these tripods are made?
"That is one beefy-ass lookin tripod"
How much did that set up cost you?
nice unboxing. But please remove the red and blue rectangles. They are very annoying
Most prefer gitzo but to me sticks are sticks
"thats super cool"
Thumbs up if you've ever paid the tripod tax.
