    Great review, going to be getting this for the studio. Do you know the differences in the p0 and p1 heads for studio work?

      I still use the Feisol all the time in the studio, such a sturdy tripod!
      I of course have the P0 ball head and it has worked equally as well as the tripod. Super handy for studio work. I tend to use it with a Nikon z7ii and a 105mm lens or a 85mm lens - so nothing super heavy, but it would be just fine with my 70-200 f/2.8 as well.
      As for differences, I'm not super familiar with the P1, so I might be missing a difference. But I believe it is capable of a higher load and has a preset friction adjustment possibly?
      Hope that helps!

      @@JeffreyTadlockPhotography thanks for the reply that definitely helps. I’ll be using it with Sony 85 1.8, rokinon 135 1.8, and the new Sony 70-200 f4 (when I get it) so nothing too heavy either. I think the p0 will be just fine then.

      I think the P0 will be fine then. I've never felt like I needed anything sturdier in my use of it. I think I've been using it for 2+ years in the studio and been a great ball head.

    4.62 isn’t too bad for the size and max height though!

      For the sturdiness of the tripod, the weight isn't that bad. When I know I'm heading out into some pretty terrible weather or lots of wind - it would definitely be the tripod I grab.

    Too funny! I just got the exact same tripod and p0 ball head (although I'm wondering if the BH-55 PCLR would be better). I haven't taken it out in the field yet. My question is how are the feet? Their squarish base doesn't strike me was being very versatile. I doesn't appear you can swap them out either. (My impression immediately was maybe this is intended more for studio work lol.)

      The p0 ball head isn't bad, though these days this tripod sees way more studio usage than landscape photography usage. (Mainly due to the size of it and me preferring a slightly lighter-weight tripod for hiking and travel, If I was in windy conditions, close to the car, etc, this is really a super solid and well-built tripod).
      When using it outdoors, I haven't really experienced any issues or annoyances with the feet. I've used it on rocky terrain, sand, creeks, etc. I have not used it in snow or mud though.
      Feisol does have some small spike feet for it, but it does not appear their long spikes fit it. Here's the small spikes that are supposed to fit this model (I have not tried them though.) www.feisol.net/accessories/spikes/feisol-steel-spikes.html
      Thanks for watching!

    How often do you use the self leveling feature?

    • @JeffreyTadlockPhotography
      @JeffreyTadlockPhotography  Před 2 lety +1

      Only occasionally and not super frequently. It's best to try to get the tripod nice and even and stable without using the leveling column for a better camera platform.
      But, when the ground is super uneven and you get close to where you want to be, being able to make the micro-adjustment can be nice.
