Should be qualified as a fantasy game. The idea of a single person working for the post office being able to afford a two story house next to a lake is less believable than orcs casting fireballs.

The character is living in the house of her parents over the course of the game. Also this was set back in the 1980s. Much more believable

Then again, it IS based in 1986 when the trickle-down economics joke hadn't yet completely stripped away all chances of working hard and living the dream.
Hoping someone would understand current situations don't map directly back to 40 years ago is apparently less believable still. Alas.
This game was definitely made by amazon to make package delivery seem like a relaxing job 😂

I liked the game, just finished it earlier. My only gripes are that the mail missions get boring as you get to the end of the game, just super repetitive. But from a storyline aspect I wish the game was longer

This game is so chill and relaxing,the music is also really amazing it brings you back to the countryside somehow ! Except some conversations are awkward but really reccomend this game during the lockdown
As someone who stumbled across this game over the holiday break, I loved it! I find the graphics are incredible and story line very fun to be apart of. This game really brings you back to the countryside. One of my favourite moments is driving along listening to the music in the truck and hearing the radio static really makes you feel like you were driving along the countryside. Small detail but goes a long way. Highly recommend!

A world where delivery drivers aren't deeply stressed & constantly rushed? I.. don't understand.
What a difference about 40 years make. 1980s, we have Lake, 2018/19 we have Sorry We Missed You, and in 2050 we have Death Stranding.
The only truth that only delivery guys know. Mail delivery is a physically demanding job and also comes with timing pressure.
Probably more rural places.
I'll wait for the weapons pack DLC, where you can go on a murderous rampage in town, slaughtering everyone. And the Rabid wildlife DLC where the town is under siege from insane Bears and killer wolves. Good fun ahead!

Stress so this resonated really strongly with me. Very relaxing and excellent soundtrack. One of my all time favs as it came at a time when I needed it.
Nice! I bought this yesterday. I played the demo of this a month or so ago and enjoyed how chilled out it was, and it had a nice mix of life is strange style interactive story, and (non violent) GTA style delivery missions, wrapped up in that wholesome picturesque Americana that i like. Glad you enjoyed it Will! I'll be starting it this weekend myself.
Should be a nice change in pace after spending 20 hours playing through Quake since for the first time since the MS DOS days, as well as its 4 expansion chapters. Heh - Quake to Lake! What a change :-D

They could have easily put a twist on this game. Like discover clues that your dad is an axe murderer or something lol but then I guess it would be the same as so many others

It would be cool if there was a game like this but it was free play and you got to go anywhere you wanted so you could have conversations with specific people and you could craft your own story. It might not have a definitive ending so that the player can still enjoy the world they are in and there would be activities to do like fishing or snowboarding and skiing.
That'd be cool. I'd also add a relationship feature, where you could date any other resident of the town.
It’s an older game but Mount and Blade Warband. It doesn’t have a definitive storyline so you are left to craft your own adventure. A lot of replay value and I believe there is a console version on Gamepass.

I absolutely loved it, just wished we had more freedom. Still being able to walk around after a workday, for example, or doing more with the characters, e.g. planning dates with the love intetests or generally getting to know them more, other little tasks, all that stuff.
I played this game over a rainy weekend. Best weekend I've had in a long long time

ya know what, as a van man, myself - i absolutely love this new trend of romanticizing delivery jobs. When im out there, i think about games like Lake, Death Stranding, and Cloud Punk and i wonder what people think of the profession.
As a native Oregonian who also played local Oregon games like Days gone, Life is strange & the amazing Gone home (by the creators of Bioshock) I'm intrigued by this game. Hopefully it stands up to the others!
As much as I feel like so much more could've been done with this game and it could've been so longer, I'm really happy with the finished product. Loved the experience
Yeah just after really knowing the all the locals and their names, and getting comfortable it just ends.

Just started playing it on PSPlus. Honestly it's a beautiful and relaxing game. The town is deader than dead though.
I want a sequel or DLC that amps up the population. I'm really enjoying time in the old "P.O."
No word on the music/soundscape? That's always a big decider for me with games and it seems like this in particular - which relies on the chill atmosphere it creates - would live/die by the quality of it's soundtrack.
Yeah these kind of smaller chilly games are golden with their soundtracks. Example? Stardew Valley

I love the ambience, music and simply needed feel of peacefulness. Try finding that kind of atmosphere these days. Remember it’s only a game to enjoy, drive wherever you chose, rekindle relationships, meet people and make choices. Loved the Blue Velvet option!

Me, coming from 360 no scoping park, woods, mason and Adler to this game was so nice of a change a pace.

That is pretty accurate. I played it and that's exactly what I thought it was like, lol. Especially the whole "hunky" lumberjack who falls for her and wants her to stay in the small town even though she is a pretty big computer programmer in the city, lol.
The first thirty seconds of the video look EXACTLY like the town layout in Deadly Premonition!
Are there any other games like this? I’d be keen to explore this genre a lot more

I played it long enough to end my second day of deliveries and figured id seen enough 😂 it was a nice chill hour of gameplay but i think ill call it there.

Playing this on Xbox one.it’s alright.I was a little excited to finally play it , but gosh, not much going on for the frame rate to tank so bad.The first State of Decay plays faster and better with much more going on. A lot of stuttering and a little ugly on the texture front.needed a little more optimization before release.

I loved it, super relaxing, ability to have the car on auto pilot and fast travel makes the deliveries more enjoyable, being only 2 in game weeks it’s over pretty quick and felt like I’d been on a journey myself, the more I played the more I got in grossed in her story. Any recommendations for games similar?

I saw the trailer when it was new but totally forgot about it until I just started looking for games to play (hopefully on sale too). This one is 30% off on Epic. I would have liked for it to be a bit cheaper given it can be completed in under 10 hours but hey everybody needs a paycheck. I'm hoping this will be a favorable quality vs quantity experience. I'll play it just as soon as I get done with Gris which is a great game so far.

I'm currently playing the demo, the idea of 90% delivering mails and parcels does seem dull but the graphic is great and somewhat made me happy to look at. I wish for more life in this game. Perhaps waiting for sale to get one and the dlc.

I played the demo of this a few months ago and I did enjoy the chilled out setting. I’m just not sure its worth it for the full price given it appears to be only a few hours long. Had hoped it would appear on Gamepass but no joy there so I think I’ll wait to see if it goes on sale somewhere down the road.

This game was really good i feel like the only thing it was missing was more things to do but other than that it was really good
I thought I was playing in tutorial mode for the first two weeks, we get to know and be introduced to the characters, we find the quickest routes, we start love interests, then the game suddenly ends.
My husband is a mailman and his job is anything but relaxing! The game looks cute though

Started this last night. It's like a cross between Alan Wake and Postman Pat
Lots of glitches and the sound breaks at least 2 times per hour, requiring a reset back to the menu to open/then close the credits, and restart the game.
This looks great! I think might give it a go if I get a chance.
As a letter carrier, I cannot imagine how this game would be enjoyable but I guess when you don't do it for a living, it probably is a novel experience for most people.
I would like to point out however, that simply coming home and taking over your dad's postal route is not how that works in the real world, nor would it ever. Especially in a small town like this, those few jobs at the post office in a small town would be highly desirable and there would definitely be a city carrier assistant, (CCA), or a PTF, part-time flexible carrier, who wouldn't just do your dad's job when he is gone but wants him to retire so they can move up into his position.
Sorry, in the real world, Meredith would just sit by the house and unwind, she wouldn't be needed at the post office.
The game is good, games like this should have come out 10 years ago. Mail delivery and post office games are complex but this is 2022 bring it on

These games have their place, I guess(something my grandmother could play), but I'm a little tired of boring games with very little to do, being excused as "chill". All of the activities in this game are half baked, and done much better in other games that merely have them as set dressing. I can walk around in a "Skyrim" town and talk to the NPCs, if I want a similar "chill" experience.

The hc love scene about 5.5 hours in. They do a bunch of drugs and just go to town…. It was very artistically choreographed though.

I had my eye on this game, but just hearing this review makes me feel lethargic. Is there any actual story? I got the impression from this review that the game consists of riding around and delivering packages and that mostly no one was home to receive them. It really seems extremely boring. I loved Death Stranding, but there was also an intriguing story and the scenery was so enjoyable to navigate across. Think I’ll probably just wait until it appears on gamepass 😕
This game is about a life lesson, its about the decisions you take in life. Just finished it, left we a bit depressed, didn't want to leave the world.

My photographs were all black, my instinct reaction was that its not a bug but lazy development like they just gave up for that part. I still enjoyed the game overall but that part really ruined my opinion about it because I went out of my way to take interesting pictures just to see that BS, so my question is did anyone see their photographs when you have to pick one for a contest.

For some reason this game caused my controller’s camera or what ever the right joystick controls to look upwards when I don’t have my thumb on it. But I thought it was the controller so now I realise i waisted 70 Australian dollars because of it so now I want a new one. So thanks game.
