Flat grind is the way to go....And like you said the scandi grind is relatively new...ive never heard of a scandi butcher knife or scandi game processing knife or scandi skinning knife...( and rarely hear of scandi folders) I finally bought one of these, and i absolutely love it... It's large enough to do anything with, yet small enough to carry. I don't leave home without it. Thank you for the review and recommendation, sir.
"Scandi" is just a cheap single bevel grind. Its the most basic and cost efficient knife grind. Its what they put on machetes. Its strange how people came to think it is some super-grind.

I'm glad someone is bringing up the quality of the leather and sheath. Most companies' leather is absolutely terrible. Condor, for instance, uses this plasticcy leather that will age like crap and crack. BPS actually uses a real nubuck type of leather that is supple and takes conditioning well.
It all comes down paying for name and history of a company. I can and do see prices rising on some and maybe some higher end models come out but I believe there base business will always be budget work horse bushcraft and camp knives like mora
