That looks like one hell of a set up. My research led me to the Singer 4423 but that was years ago. It has been heavy duty enough to sew tarps, hammocks, boat covers and the larger things I do with it. I have to set mine up with plywood on saw horses for those larger jobs. My wife makes all kinds of clothing with it as well and it has paid for itself many times over. Just one of the tools in my tool box of self reliance that has allowed me to be retired 16 years now and I can have things made exactly the way I want them.

Workin on a sewing machine job myself ! Making summer shorts and fishing shorts , from older pants ! Ive always wanted to design my own tactical and fishing backpacks ! Hope your doing good man !
Yeah making patterns for regular sewing is a bit harder than the leather patterns I have experience with. Makes the r and d process take a little longer.
I do know that, but I am too slow presently so the bobbins come out all jacked up. This machine assumes the operatpr is not a retard, so I feel slightly discrimated against
@@bizzlesnach It will wind better, even slower if you tighten the tension that the bobbin thread goes through. It’s the disks at the back of the machine. Just adjust a little at a time till it winds better.
Appears to be a tailoring machine..made for clothing..before what I meant by a walking foot machine is that the part under the foot called the feed dog works in unisen with the foot while it lifts every stich ..a tailoring head is good for lightweight work but you are likely to have issues going thru webbing or to many layers ..looks like 69 weight threads
Key to tension is both upper and lower need to be the same..pull a little of both simultaneously the Guage it..they don't need to be real tight and you will see the lose stitches if it needs to be tighter...the ideal effect is the lock stitch to be flush in the hole
This one is an H, or heavy, so while it doesn't have a walking foot it has the heavier presser foot assembly. Gear wise it is crushing the nylon and webbing I am throwing at it. I am the problem, not the machine. I will eventually get it dialed in, I hope.
Admirable! I have zero patience for sewing.
Absolutely digging that lovely beast of machine.
Impressive design ideas for practical use, in your learning curves ,)
Handy helpers, seamsir!
I'll get better eventually.

I have a long way to go, but I aspire to at least match half of what you have learned over the years.

You do know you can wind bobbins while you’re sewing. I have been sewing on industrial machines for over 40 years.

Have fun!

You are doing better than most on your own there BTW

@@bizzlesnach You did a fine job.
damn... I need to get a sewing machine. for real. my disappeared in the last divorce. lol
Yeah. I lost everything with mine, but that was 20 something years ago. The residual damage takes quite some time to stabilize
