  • In this video, Kyle goes over the Carrier 38MARB product, and its ability to pair with a gas furnace. This is one of only a few products on the market that allows us to pair an inverter side discharge heat pump, and pair it with a non-communicating furnace. This gives us variable speed inverter technology at a fraction of the price!

    Awesome video, thanks. I just ordered one from Reliance.

    My 38MARBQ24AA3 HEEAT PUMP is paired with latest carrier performance 96 variable speed furnace and latest ecobee thermostat. This configuration runs furnace fan at 1 high speed only.?? Very loud. Is this normal

    Thanks for the video can you explain lil bit more on how the inverter outdoor unit functions with the single stage furnace ? I understood that it will function as a single stage regardless of the inverter outdoor unit

    So with these systems is the refrigerant still metered at the heat pump like a traditional mini or does it communicate with an EXV At the Evaporator?

      @marrsheatingandairconditio5891  Před rokem

      It uses the EXV at the outdoor unit. We remove the TXV from the coil indoors and run 2 insulated lines to the coil. Hope this helps!

    Need to find someone to do this in south king county for my house. We have that exact carrier nat gas furnace

    How does this compare with the 38MURA? The MURA seems similar but has slightly better cold climate performance. Would the MURA pair well with a gas furnace or is that not necessary given the better performance?

    • @vaporubdealer2866
      @vaporubdealer2866 Před rokem

      38MURA no longer needs the 24V Interface module. You wire it with 18 AWG wire like a regular heat pump.

      @@vaporubdealer2866 The timing of your reply is freaky. I got the 38MURA installed today.

      @@tomtomkzzzhow do you like it? What area do you live and rough size of house. I’ve become intrigued by this and using it instead of a traditional ac. And using the rebates brings the install of a new system to roughly $8k

      @@justinrageth7641 I like it so far, except the installers were not very good and made a few mistakes. I'm waiting for them to return to deal with that... but the hardware is nice, quiet, and so far is doing fairly well at cooling. It short cycles a bit which I didn't expect but this could be due to the sub-optimal wiring scenario that was used. We shall see how it works in the winter which will be the real test! (I used to have a gas furnace). I'm in Toronto, Ontario and I have a 2 storey detached, approx 1400 sqft plus a basement of 700 sqft. My after-rebate cost was just over $8k, same as your estimate.

      @@tomtomkzzz thank you for your response. My wife is leery due to it being “new” with little info out there or reviews. We are in se wisconsin so summers can get to the 90+ range for weeks at a time. I’ll see if I can’t talk her into it. This set up is $3k less than our other option which includes a 2 stage ac. My argument was, do you really think you will spend $3k more in labor charges than a traditional ac over its life?

    This is a rebranded Midea unit....

  • @jw86kim
    @jw86kim Před 6 měsíci

    I heard that all the Carrier side discharge units are Made in China by Midea. Is this true? Looking at the photos of Midea unit and Carrier unit, they look identical. Also, I think there was joint press release by Carrier and Midea that they have formed a partnership back in 2017. If this is true, why pay more for Carrier unit when you can save substantial dollars by paying for a Midea unit?

    • @user-un3xg9mi7y
      @user-un3xg9mi7y Před 3 měsíci

      This is true, and carrier have been partnered with midea much earlier than 2017 in other countries, and carrier bought another AC company near midea company which their products are even cheaper. Now they have announced a several product under name of carrier in China, but its identical to the units the cheaper company sells. Midea even make bosch, and there is even a sign saying midea carrier air conditioning in midea factory in canton China.
